So, I went to see the Michael Moore film "Sicko" tonight. I enjoyed it, although I'm not sure I learned much that I didn't already know. (Other that in France, you can get a nanny to come in a couple times a week to help you out with the children, the laundry, etc. Sweet!)
In some ways, I think Michael Moore documentaries are mostly wasted. Those that believe as Michael Moore do will go to see his films, but they probably don't need much, if any, convincing. And probably most that believe he's "UnAmerican" will avoid them because they're told he's a commie or whatever. And those that don't believe as he does are those he most wants to convince.
The trick is, of course, that Michael Moore loves his country. He just wants it to be better. And, of course, if America weren't a great nation, Michael Moore wouldn't have the freedom to speak up and criticize. A fact I'm sure he's aware of.
By the way, I do believe, as Michael Moore does, that our country's medical system is screwed up. That health care should not be run by for-profit companies. But then again, I'm probably a bit of a socialist. :)
