Rochester area school officials bargained for 10 hours Friday, but ended without a formal resolution.
Butch Santicola, spokesman for the Pennsylvania State Education Association, said none of the nine school board members attended the bargaining session.
He said the chief negotiator for the board, Al Vennare, ended the talks shortly after 8 p.m., unable to go further without speaking to the board of directors first.
Vennare said progress has been made and that all parties would be in communications over the weekend to try and move forward.
Teachers, secretaries and aides, and cafeteria and maintenance employees, have worked since summer without contracts. The strike will enter its third week on Monday.
