several days of devotion

A Cherokee Feast of Day by Joyce Sequichie Hifler Tough-spirited, sensitive, poetic, Geronimo. Thousands could not subdue him, his freedom was too important and his life too entwined in the refuge of nature. But a time came when he wanted to surrender and live peaceably. He simply commented: "I have to die sometime, but even if the heavens were to fall on me I want to do what is right. There is one God looking down on us all. We are all children of God. God is listening to me. The sun, darkness, the winds are all listening to what we say." It is in our power to day, "I hear You, and I surrender." ~ I am going to try to live well and peaceably. ~ GERONIMO - APACHE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elder's Meditation of the Day - January 4 "Our circle is timeless, flowing, it is a new life emerging from death-life winning out over death." --Lame Deer, LAKOTA When we look at the world in the manner which the Great Spirit designed it, we can see why it makes sense to live in harmony with it: the trees grow and bear fruit, the fruit has seeds, the seeds fall to the ground, the ground grows new trees, old trees die to make way for the young. Any time we think we can interrupt this cycle or change it we will experience turmoil and confusion. The Human Cycle exists as the baby becomes the youth, the youth becomes the adult, the adult has children, the adult becomes the Elder, and the Elder teaches the youth. Elders go on to the Spirit World. Spirit comes into babies to produce new life. Flow into the flow. Be the path of least resistance. My Creator and my Maker, today, teach me to just flow with the river of life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morning Prayer: Grandfather, Give us the wisdom to teach our children to love, to respect, and to be kind to each other so that they may grow with peace in mind. Let us learn to share all the good things that you provide for us on this Earth. Aho , Amen , e-men . January 4 - Daily Feast Volume II Tough-spirited, sensitive, poetic, Geronimo. We always found a haystack that gave reason to shove and push and throw hay at each other. Then we would stretch out and our mother would tell us about the stars, pointing out different ones -- and the moon. We were all quiet, listening to her words until she told us about the different phases of the moon. Some asked when the moon would be full and she said, "The moon is always full." We all contradicted her but she said, "We see the moon in all its phases but it is always the same." She told us there is a lunar moon and a solar moon according to time, and that the moon is the only satellite that orbits our world. The ultimate lesson was things are happening even if we cannot see it. She said that we were disbelieving because wanted to see and touch everything -- but it takes faith to know what is going on whether we can see it or not. *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* January 3 - Daily Feast Volume II Some say reality is a thing that can be touched. But reality is more real in the invisible than all we see and touch with our fingers. Trying to face reality without knowing what it is, is little different from seeing a tiny stone and finding it is a boulder buried in the earth. Reality is not a one-dimensional flat surface where everything is visible - but it is spirit and life and faith and love. We many not observe these things but we feel their influence. Prayer is the straight line to the invisible, changing what we see from above and beneath. We cannot see it, but it is the substance of reality, the u w wi and a da nv to, heart and soul of life in its highest form. ~ It does not require many words to speak the truth. ~ CHIEF JOSEPH "A Cherokee Feast of Days, Volume II" by Joyce Sequichie Hifler *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* Elder's Meditation of the Day - January 3 "We don't have to say or think what we don't wish to. We have a choice in those things, and we have to realize that and practice using that choice." --Rolling Thunder, CHEROKEE Having choices makes us fully accountable. No one can make us think anything we don't want to think. No one can determine our behavior and how we act. It's not what's going on but how we look at what's going on. If someone does something and we get upset, we can change how we look at it any time we want. We can tell ourselves in the morning that the day is going to be beautiful and that we have expectations that great things will happen. Doing this daily sets our mind to look for the joy and the excitement of each day. Great Spirit, help me to choose my thoughts with Your wisdom. *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* THINK ON THESE THINGS By Joyce Sequichie Hifler All of us have memories that we can go back and enjoy the simple times and comforting experiences. When the present gets too heavy transport body, soul, and spirit into one of those good memories and enjoy it all over again. One of my childhood duties was to bring the cows home from the pasture every evening. A wonderful discovery was how gentle our bull was and I would ride him home from the pasture with all the milk cows following. He was not only gentle, he was smart and as soon as we reached a grove of thorn trees he went through it every time. Didn't take long to get off, but it was not just the herd that is remembered but the evening sun and the barking dog in the distance. Shadows took on a blue haze and the hollows and hills changed with the light. Those evenings are as comforting now as then. I know they are because I remember it so clearly. *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* January 2 - Daily Feast Volume II Little quiet spells are as rare as jewels. Many can't stand even a little silence and try to fill it with empty chatter - or with words that should never have been spoken. It is a great art to be silent. The Cherokee calls it da lo in ge s to di - e lu we i, which is golden silence. We paint with our words that which we want others to see, and we choose colors to communicate, to understand, to sense. The fewest words make silence speak most eloquently. ~ The fruits of silence are self-control, courage, endurance, patience and dignity. ~ OHIYESA, DAKOTA "A Cherokee Feast of Days, Volume II" by Joyce Sequichie Hifler *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* Elder's Meditation of the Day - January 2 "People have to be responsible for their thoughts, so they have to learn to control them. It may not be easy, but it can be done." --Rolling Thunder, CHEROKEE We control our thoughts by controlling our self talk. At any moment we choose we can talk to ourselves differently. The fight comes with the emotions that are attached to our thoughts. If our emotion is high and seems to be out of control, we can say to ourselves STOP IT!, take a few deep breaths, then ask the Creator for the right thought or the right decision or the right action. If we practice this for a while, our thought life will be different. It helps if in the morning we ask God to direct our thinking. God loves to help us. Great Spirit, today, direct my thinking so my choices are chosen by You. *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* THINK ON THESE THINGS By Joyce Sequichie Hifler What would the old Indians thought about the time we are living in? Some would only grunt but their thoughts would have been profound. They had ways of "hearing through the bushes", meaning they could hear the signs of the times -- yes, they had ways we do not understand with all our electronic equipment. When we stopped believing in the supernatural we gave up our sensitive understanding, our ability to hear through the bushes. When we were very young we had no TV, no radio, no cell phones or taped music. Our perception was very sharp, and though our mother tried to put a lid on mine, I would say it all anyway. Children without cartoons are more "knowing" than those whose minds are being entertained but not particularly taught. Never feel bad because of what was not available. Be glad that you can think and be richly blessed, and don't be surprised when you can "hear through the bushes." *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* January 1 - Daily Feast Volume II ONE So-Qua Cold Month Una la at nee' The prairie is large and good, and so are the heavens above, and I do not want them stained by the blood of war. SATANTA, KIOWA CHIEFTAIN Early morning sunlight sets frosted grasses ablaze with gems, topaz, emeralds, diamonds, and the heart is supremely rich, u wa nei i, and very enlightened. Such mornings call us to brightness of spirit and to healing the deep hurts of the soul. Step out and breathe in the peace. Turn up the palms to give thanks and receive strength for the day and wisdom to begin this year. Because nature thrives where humans give up, the negative is turned away. All around us the breathtaking views tell us to do the same. ~ You look at me and see an ugly old man, but within I am filled with great beauty. ~ TLO TSI HEE OLD MAN BUFFALO GRASS NAVAJO "A Cherokee Feast of Days, Volume II" by Joyce Sequichie Hifler *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* Elder's Meditation of the Day - January 1 "...because if you believe in something, and believe in it long enough, it will come into being." --Rolling Thunder, CHEROKEE We are created by the Great One to accomplish His will through our mental pictures or visions. Our thoughts are three dimensional: words, pictures and feelings. We create the vision by thinking the words and we create feeling for the vision by feeling enthusiasm, desire, commitment and other strong beliefs. Once we create the vision, we move toward and become like that which we think about. All visions are tested by our self talk; for example, "This isn't going to happen, where is the money coming from anyway?" When this happens, we need to let go of the test and focus on belief in the vision. Why? Because God said if we believe it long enough, He will guarantee it!!! Great One, let my beliefs be strong today. Help me to have faith in my visions. *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* THINK ON THESE THINGS By Joyce Sequichie Hifler Here it is -- the New Year. We have seen many unusual changes and we can expect even more. These are unusual times we live in and predictions from times past are happening before our eyes. True, there have been many that were far out, but more have come to pass -- and more will come. Give backing to every good thing and watch every word that it does not sink us, as individuals, in quick sand we did not know existed. This cannot be business as usual. It must be carefully handled and patiently studied if we are to reap our rich harvest. Ignorance is like the man Emerson wrote about, "The civilized man has built a coach, but lost the use of his feet." We have to know we are daily building our lives and we need to be conscious of the blueprint we are following. *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* December 31 - Daily Feast A feast is a huge banquet of wonderful foods and wonderful friends to share it. It is a time when people honor people - and many memories are laid aside for this celebration. But another kind of feast is in the heart - at the core where life is decided. It is the human way to believe himself victim of many things, and he starves at his center. He worries excessively about who will take care of him and who will feed him and if he will survive at all. Never start a day without gratitude - without an inner singing of "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!" Never start a day being sour and hard to get along with. Never talk trouble nor give credence to those who do. Never give another person reason to be unhappy..... And remember, this is your day. This is a day of celebrating new life and purpose. ~ On the other side of the river there is plenty of buffalo. When we are poor we will tell you. ~ BLACKFOOT - MOUNTAIN CROW 'A Cherokee Feast of Days, Volume II' by Joyce Sequichie Hifler *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* Elder's Meditation of the Day - December 31 "They must give themselves to Wakan' Tanka and live a spiritual life. They will have the peace that frees them from fear." --Frank Fools Crow, LAKOTA There are two wills available for us: self will and God's will. Our choice is: figure it out ourselves, or have the Creator involved in our lives. If we are honest with ourselves and look at past experiences, what are our lives like when we try to figure it out ourselves? Is there fear, confusion, frustration, anger, attacking others, conflict, fault finding, manipulation, teasing others, belittling others or devaluation? If these things are present, they indicate that we are choosing self will. What is it like if we turn our will over to the Creator? What are the results if we ask the Great Spirit to guide our life? Examples are: freedom, choices, consequences, love forgiveness, helping others, happiness, joy, solutions, and peace. Which will I choose today, self will or God's will? Creator, I know what my choice is. I want You to direct my life. I want You to direct my thinking. You are the Grandfather. You know what I need even before I do. Today I ask You to tell me what I can do for You today. Tell me in a way I can understand and I will be happy to do it. *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* 'THINK on THESE THINGS' By Joyce Sequichie Hifler Today I hear the laughter of children at play. Their voices filled the air almost like chimes. And I felt their arms about my neck and their sticky kisses on my face. How blessed I am! Today I heard a mockingbird trilling out every single song it every heard from its winged friends. I closed my eyes and in the trees I heard all the voices I've heard since childhood, and it took me through all the happy, breathless, precious times I loved so much. Today I heard my mother's voice calling to me happily. It was a good, strong, healthy voice that has called to me courage, and hope and peace, and shall continue to call down many lanes to me. Today I heard my child's voice. I heard her singing, I heard her praying, I heard her laughing and talking. I heard her teasing and moving from place to place in all the activities I love to see her in. Now, even more than ever I realize how grateful I am that God has given me the excellent faculty of hearing. I shall with all diligence try to hear nothing evil, but only love and peace which is my heritage. *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* December 30 - Daily Feast We move now toward a new year. It gives reason to think who we are and what we are about. Do we reach eagerly toward the future or does it frighten us with its weapons and voices and anger? Think long and hard about this, for it reveals your state of existence. A person cannot go on thinking "someday" and change anything. But to say that this day is the day to make changes and to bring one's own personal spirit into alignment, that is an accomplishment. Some feel they are not good enough to be any different. But what they don't realize is that making the effort to change makes them good enough. A person can't get there until he takes an action. ~ Some of our people have gone from here in order that they may have a change. ~ SPOTTED TAIL - SIOUX 'A Cherokee Feast of Days, Volume II' by Joyce Sequichie Hifler *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* Elder's Meditation of the Day - December 30 "Always remember that the Great Mystery is good; evil can come only from ourselves!" --Grandmother of Charles Eastman. SANTEE SIOUX The Great Mystery is love, good and principle. He is a guiding Father. He doesn't play games. He knows only how to love. Sometimes, when things go wrong, we blame Him or others. Usually, if we are honest, we can see how decisions or things done in the past put us in a position to be hurt. It comes back to us. When this happens, it is not something the Creator caused, but something we, ourselves caused. Most of our problems are of our own making. When this happens, we should correct what we've done, ask the Great Spirit for forgiveness and pray for guidance in the future. My Creator, bless me with Your good. *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* 'THINK on THESE THINGS' By Joyce Sequichie Hifler Henry David Thoreau, whose cry was "Simplify! Simplify!" went to great measures to prove to himself, and perhaps to society, that life could be lived in the most simple manner and at the least expense. With only a few dollars he managed to provide for himself the things of absolute necessity for quite a long period of time. Not many of us would care to exist on the absolute necessities. We have become too much accustomed to easier living. Things that were once thought of as luxuries are now considered necessities. And yet, with all of this, life is anything but simple. We seem to have the ability to complicate the best laid plans and find ourselves shadow boxing. Like many of the trite old adages, "Life is what we make it," is so true. By our own minds we accept or reject, by ignoring or by searching out the causes of shadows and removing the cause. It is whatever we elect to do about our individual lives that makes the difference. But we shall make great strides when we recognize the supreme excellence in all things of simplicity. We don't need to worry about doing without the necessary things in life - if we have a grateful heart. A grateful heart is not just remembering to write a few words to someone who has done a kindness, or saying thank you graciously and at the right moment. A grateful heart is the feeling of great blessings which precedes that thank you note and that verbal expression. A grateful heart is one that always knows the fullness of that rich feeling of first being grateful without cause. And then, all other gratitude and its expression comes naturally. Perhaps true gratitude is a grateful though toward heaven that I should be chosen to fill this spot, do this work, and have been given the strength to do it. It was Romaine, the English theologian, who said, "Gratitude to God makes even a temporal blessing a taste of heaven." We can have so much more heaven with a grateful heart. *<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>*<<<=-=>>>* BLESSED IS HE WHOSE TRANSGRESSIONS ARE FORGIVEN, WHOSE SINS ARE COVERED. BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE SIN THE LORD DOES NOT COUNT AGAINST HIM AND IN WHOSE SPIRIT IS NO DECEIT. ( PSALM 32:1-2 *NIV ) Dear Rodney, Often people feel that they have committed a sin in the past that can not be forgiven. A sin that is so horrible that God could never forgiven them. This is simply not true! For; IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST AND WILL FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND PURIFY US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. ( 1 JOHN 1:9 ) After all Jesus even forgave a thief on the cross, did He not? ( LUKE 23:40-43 ) This is because when we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, our past sins are cleansed from the Book of Life by the Precious Blood of our Savior Jesus Christ! For; IN HIM WE HAVE REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RICHES OF GOD'S GRACE THAT HE LAVISHED ON US WITH ALL WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING. ( EPHESIANS 1:7-8 ) Therefore never feel that a sin you have committed in the past can not be forgiven, that simply is not true! For our Savior paid the price for the sin debt for the whole World on the cross! So, it can be said; WHO IS A GOD LIKE YOU, WHO PARDONS SIN AND FORGIVES THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE REMNANT OF HIS INHERITANCE? YOU DO NOT STAY ANGRY FOREVER BUT DELIGHT TO SHOW MERCY. YOU WILL AGAIN HAVE COMPASSION ON US; YOU WILL TREAD OUR SINS UNDERFOOT AND HURL ALL OUR INIQUITIES INTO THE DEPTHS OF THE SEA. Amen. ( MICAH 7:18-19 ) With My Love & Prayers, FOR GOD MY SPEAK IN ONE WAY, OR IN ANOTHER, YET MAN DOES NOT PERCEIVE IT. ( JOB 33:14 *NKJV ) Dear Rodney, Has God ever spoken to you? I'll bet that He has! For God speaks to His Children in various ways, and many of His Children don't even realize it when He does. However beware of anyone who claim's that our Heavenly Father talks to them all of the time! Now if you are thinking that God has never spoken to me, let us examine some of the ways that He speaks to us. 1. By planting ideas in our heads through thoughts or dreams. ( Have you ever had a problem that was really bothering you, and suddenly an idea popped into your head, and you asked yourself, why didn't I think of that sooner?) 2. By speaking through others, even though they do not realize it. ( God often speaks to us through others, sometimes even through non-believers.) 3. By using the broadcast or print media. ( Have you ever asked God for an answer, and then been given the answer through a television program, book, song or even an e-mail message? ) These are just a very few of the ways that God speaks to His Children, though He doesn't do it often. I hope that you weren't expecting me to say that lightning would flash, and a loud voice would ring down from Heaven, for our Heavenly Father is far too subtle for that, and after all, the answer is meant for you alone to hear! So Rodney, the next time you are speaking with others or you pray, why not spend a moment or two just listening? You just might be surprised you hear! With My Love & Prayers, THE LORD WILL GIVE STRENGTH TO HIS PEOPLE; THE LORD WILL BLESS HIS PEOPLE WITH PEACE. ( PSALM 29:11 *NKJV ) Dear Rodney, Now in this World today it is hard for most people to find any peace! Confusion abounds no matter where we go. We were warned about this by our Savior Jesus Christ, for He said; THESE THINGS I HAVE SPOKEN TO YOU, THAT IN ME YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. IN THE WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TRIBULATION; BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER, I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD. ( JOHN 16:33 ) After All; FOR GOD IS NOT THE AUTHOR OF CONFUSION BUT OF PEACE, AS IN ALL THE CHURCHES OF THE SAINTS. ( 1 CORINTHIANS 14:33 ) Therefore Rodney, when you find yourself troubled always look to Jesus Christ; FOR HE HIMSELF IS OUR PEACE! (EPHESIANS 2:14) A loving caring peace that we become filled with on our spiritual journey. And that is only one of the blessings we receive on that journey, for it is also written; THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS GENTLENESS, SELF CONTROL. AGAINST SUCH THINGS THERE IS NO LAW. ( GALATIANS 5:22-23 ) So Rodney, it is my prayer that; THE PEACE OF GOD WHICH PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR HEART AND MIND THROUGH JESUS CHRIST, ( PHILIPPIANS 4:7 ) now and always! Amen. With My Love & Prayers, Welcome to the year 2,007 and; THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE; LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT! ( PSALM 118:24 *NKJV ) Dear Rodney, What do you think this day, or any day means to our Heavenly Father? For the answer to that let us turn to the Bible where it is written; BUT, BELOVED, DO NOT FORGET THIS ONE THING, THAT WITH THE LORD ONE DAY IS A THOUSAND YEARS, AND A THOUSAND YEARS AS ONE DAY. ( 2 PETER 3:8 ) It is also written; FOR A THOUSAND YEARS IN GOD'S SIGHT ARE LIKE YESTERDAY WHEN IT IS PAST, AND LIKE A WATCH IN THE NIGHT. ( PSALM 90:4 ) You see even though a thousand years is a very long, long time to us, it isn't when compared to God's Eternal Existence. Now when we think about it, we actually live one moment at a time, not a day at a time, do we not? For none of us carry a guarantee of the future, even if that future is only an hour or two away. So try to do your best in the moments that you have each day, remembering that a lot can be accomplished in only a moment. Therefore cherish each day that God has given to you, and try to be the best person that you can be each hour of every day. Amen. Now I would like to share the following poem with you Rodney, and to wish you a Wonderful New Year filled with God's Love, Hope and Faith. May God Richly Bless You Indeed in 2007. Each Day A new year just beginning, Each day a fresh, new start, To fulfill your hopes And pursue the dreams Sustained within your heart. Put God in charge; He'll plant the seeds Of affection, love and care. Like a garden, your life will grow With kindness flowering there. And as you face the wonder Of each day's mysteries, You'll see God's hand Unfolding, daily, possibilities! And as each day comes to a close, Dream a dream or two, Then with a prayer thank dear God For each day given to you. With My Love & Prayers, YOU CROWN THE YEAR WITH YOUR GOODNESS, AND YOUR PATHS DRIP WITH ABUNDANCE. THEY DRIP ON THE PASTURES OF THE WILDERNESS, AND THE LITTLE HILLS REJOICE ON EVERY SIDE. ( PSALMS 65:11-12 *NKJV ) Dear Rodney, As we come to the end of another year, let us pray that 2007 will be a year filled with love, hope, and peace. Now when it comes to love; THIS IS THE COMMANDMENT WE HAVE RECEIVED FROM HIM: THAT HE WHO LOVES GOD MUST LOVE HIS BROTHER ALSO. AND ABOVE ALL THINGS HAVE FERVENT LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER, FOR LOVE WILL COVER A MULTITUDE OF SINS. ( 1 JOHN 4:21 ) ( 1 PETER 4:8-9 ) As for hope; NOW HOPE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT, BECAUSE THE LOVE OF GOD HAS BEEN POURED OUT IN OUR HEARTS BY THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO WAS GIVEN TO US. FOR WHAT- EVER THINGS WERE WRITTEN BEFORE WERE WRITTEN FOR OUR LEARNING, THAT WE THROUGH THE PATIENTS AND COMFORT OF THE SCRIPTURES MIGHT HAVE HOPE. ( Romans 5:5 ) ( Romans 15:4-5) Regarding peace; BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING, BUT IN EVERY- THING BY PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION, WITH THANKSGIVING, LET YOUR REQUESTS BE MADE KNOWN TO GOD; AND THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR HEART AND MIND THROUGH CHRIST JESUS. ( PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7 ) Finally, Rodney, MAY THE GOD OF HOPE FILL YOU WITH ALL JOY AND PEACE IN BELIEVING, THAT YOU MAY ABOUND IN HOPE BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. ( ROMANS 15:13 ) Now Rodney, may you have a safe and happy New Years Eve, and let us all say a Prayer that 2007 will be a year of peace and joy. Amen With My Love & Prayers, JESUS SAID, "LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN COME TO ME, AND DO NOT HINDER THEM, FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN BELONGS TO SUCH AS THESE." ( MATTHEW 19:14 *NIV ) Dear Rodney, Children are a gift from God, and hold a very special place in our hearts. And as any parent knows, out of the mouths of babes come amazing things! So today we will take a look at a message I received this week from Bette, one of our subscribers. It contains Notes to God that children have written. Now I hope that you will laugh as hard as I did when I first read these, so let us begin....... A Sunday School Teacher asked her class to write notes to God. Here are some they handed in: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: I didn't think orange went with purple until I saw the sunset You made on Tuesday. That was cool. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: Instead of letting people die and having to make new ones, why don't You keep the ones You already have? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: Maybe Cain and Abel would not have killed each other if they had their own rooms. That's what my Mom did for me and my brother. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: If You watch me in church on Sunday, I'll show You my new shoes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: I bet it is very hard to love everyone in the whole world. There are only 4 people in our family and I'm having a hard time loving all of them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: In school they told us what You do. Who does it when You are on vacation? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: Are You really invisible or is it just a trick? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: Is it true my father won't get into heaven if he uses his bowling words in the house? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: Did You mean for the giraffe to look like that or was it an accident? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: Who draws the lines around the countries? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: I went to this wedding and they kissed right in the church. Is that OK? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: Did You really mean "do unto others as they do unto you"? Because if You did, then I'm going to get my brother good. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: Thank You for the baby brother, but I think you got confused because what I prayed for was a puppy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: Please send me a pony. I never asked for anything before. You can look it up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: I want to be just like my Daddy when I get big, but not with so much hair all over. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: You don't have to worry about me; I always look both ways. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: Of all the people who worked for You, I like Noah and David the best. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: My brother told me about being born but it doesn't sound right. They're just kidding, aren't they? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: I would like to live 900 years just like the guy in the Bible. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear God: We read Thomas Edison made light. But in Sunday school they said You did it. So, I bet he stole Your idea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now have a safe weekend as you prepare for New Years Eve, and; MAY THE GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND THE LOVE OF GOD, AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BE WITH YOU ALL. Amen. ( 2 CORINTHIANS 13:14 )
