She fights back the tears,
That attempt to flow,
While she sits in a room,
A single candle the only glow.
Thoughts are racing,
through her mind,
as she closes her eyes,
attempting to unwind.
The day has been hard,
a little rougher than most,
starting to feel insignificant,
like some sort of ghost.
Her heart says one thing,
while her mind another,
she wants to say something,
but why should she bother.
Speaking from her heart,
has never went over well,
not when she cares about the one,
she needs most to tell.
So she stays silent with her feelings,
while she tries to get some rest,
dreaming of the day,
that she’s no longer second best.
