i have parent/teacher conferences tonight. this school that my son is going to isn't passing their "state standardized testing" requirements. should i be worried? my son is bright, but i feel like the materials he brings home (like homework and classwork that is finished) is WAY below his level of understanding. i have been supplementing here and there (doing a bit of home-schooling type stuff to keep his mind sharp with new information)....have i actually HURT him by doing this? (by making him way ahead of his class?). we tried to charter school here, which is better at "challenging" students...but i felt like they were training little hitler robots, so we changed schools. so my question is: do i forgo stability and change schools AGAIN? or do we stick it out with this school and hope it gets better? |
