After hearing from a lot of folks that are anti gun folks and seeing the news reports of the school shootings that have made the news over the past few years I thought I would write my thoughts.
First there is not such thing as a No Gun Zone as there is no such thing as a No Drug Zone. Some have made the feel good move to designate such places but the facts are that those rules only apply to Law Abiding folks. Such places Never apply to Thugs, crooks, killers, dealers and outlaws.
These are Feel good ideas that have no place in the reality we live in. Some people think that by making a law it stops the problem when in reality it only makes them Feel Better. The reality is that Bad Guys can get or make a weapon. If you look at my weapons folder you will see that I can build a weapon in my spare time that will make even gun folk stare. But I would never hurt another person except in self defense or defense of others. All the weapon I build are absolutely Legal and Its absolutely legal to build a 10" bore cannon that can fire a round 10 miles out. There are some rules but if followed they are absolutely legal.
So what these folks that want No Gun schools and No Drug Zones really want is to Feel like they are doing something. They are, they are putting everyone in said zones in danger. Police only help After the crime and if the folks that could stop the Bad Guys are disarmed then only the Bad Guys have free run till the police finally show up.
In a Church a lady shot dead a guy that may have killed many, but he didn't because 1 lady stopped him. Not the Gun she carried legally, She stopped him with a tool she carried legally.
At VA Tech if one teacher or one student had been allowed to carry a concealed weapon then instead of 30 dead kids it may have been only one.. The Bad Guy.
No Law will stop a person from commiting a crime with a weapon..
But One person with a Glock can.
