scary thoughts

Hi all, I just went through one of the scariest possible situations. I was online, having mommy time, lol. Both kids are asleep, and i am fixing to go to bed, when i hear on the tv, Tornado Warning for Logan County, heading to Guthrie,Ok.(where i live) Then all of a sudden i hear it is 7 miles Southwest from Guthrie. Guthrie residents need to take tornado precautions IMMEDIATELY!! I rush to get pillows and blankets, flashlights and get changed into long pants and a long sleeve shirt, socks and shoes, then i have the kids to get up, get changed, get shoes on, and get in the bathtub. I wake Andrew, telling him we have a tornado, and as i say that i hear the sirens going off in town, then i have to wake Kyle and get him up, change him completely and get him in the tub. I get me and the boys in the tub, immediately Kyle starts crying, he wants out of the tub, then i hear on the tv, tornado is just outside Guthrie, you need to take precautions now! So we cover our heads, Kyle is crying as he is sitting in my lap, andrew looks at me with a scared look, like a deer caught in headlights, then through the blanket and pillows i hear that the tornado has moved straight north, instead of north, northeast, we had been in there for about 30 - 45 minutes! We get out of the tub and check the tv and sure enough it has moved totally north of us. Just the thought of what could have happened in this situation. I have been through 4 tornadoes in my life, all scary, and all unpredictable. My first tornado was when i was 7 years old, we had just moved here from Plano, Texas. It was an F2 - F3 sized tornado, my dad and i had watched it form from the funnel cloud all the way up to the tornado. My mom, younger brother, younger sister, and i pile into my mom's closet. My dad, older sister & brother pile into the bathtub. Sirens going off everywhere, and u can hear the wind, and things flying around, hitting the house. Then nothing, it's totally quiet. We hear more wind coming, and more things flying around, hitting the house, and a loud noise right over our roof. It did this three more times. Come to find out the next morning, that this tornado had started in the backfield where my dad and i watched it form, then it went over our roof, down the street, and through my friends yard, not once, twice, but THREE times and it never touched down on our house, or did any major damage, except where it left its tracks. We were very lucky and fortunate tonight, and also then. I am glad that the threat is over, but also know that not every place is as fortunate as we were tonight, so for the people that have gone through a major tornado or any other major situation, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families and friends. Have a great night, take care, Hugs
