save the planet

As destructive fishing practices, deadly underwater noise, and toxic pollution take a mounting toll on the health of our oceans. The Natural Resources Defense Council is leading the fight to establish the equivalent of national parks in the sea, Which will safeguard vital marine habitats from devasting threats. LWe are making progress with protecting the oceans but when countries like Canada and Japan get in the way of progress of protecting life in our oceans we need to turn to organizations like Greenpeace and The sea Sheperd. I will start with Canada's commercial seal hunt. It is the largest slaughter of maring mammals in the world. This year between March and April, Canada will allow 270,000 harp seals to be killed. During the previous three years, the government of canada delivered the death sentence to over one million baby harp seals. This should not be even called a hunt. Sealers simply walk up to the baby seals and bash the seals on the head with a metal spike attached to a long wooden stick. Some of the seals are even skinned alive just for their fur. This neeeds to stop. All seals need to be protected. Canada needs to stop this commercial seal slaughter. As for Japan. Japan still has a commercial whaling fleet. Despite a moratorium on commercial whaling, and the whole of the southern ocean as a whale sanctuary, each year japan killsover 1,000 whales for the commerial market. This makes me sick. Seven out of the thirteen great whale species are still endangered Japan is killing off a great species of our oceans and must be stopped In the United States, More than 30,000 nongovernmental organizations, foundations, and citizens groujps are addressing the issues of environmental justice, ecological literacy, public policy, conservation, renewable energy, corporate reform, climate change, trade rules, ecological tax reform, water conservation, and much more. So who should you turn to to protect our ecosystems and the animals that live there? Those who I think do the most with the money they get is the Sea Sheperd, Green Peace, The Natural Resources Defense Council and the World Wildlife fund. They need our help.
