Well, its the last night of Dem's p;ay, and all i can say is...Thank You Jesus! He plays D'Arque, the assylum head, in Beauty and the Beast.And a dancing spork. It's a small play, and he'll do whatever to get on stage.
This play is his first musical, and let me tell you, I'm glad its the last night. I can only take so much, and I'm at that point.
Belle and Mrs Potts have wonderful voices, but the rest of the singing is made up of high school boys, and for the most part, they mumble their way thru their songs.
Except for the Beast, who is played by Dem's friend, and Gaston, who is played by one of the best basketball players in our state. They belt out the tunes, but both try to sing too low, so some notes are an adventure. But hell, I would probably be a mumbler, so kudo's to the both of them.
The first night was jittery, but the second night went well. There were a few missed lines, in song, and a scene where the actors got the giggles, and only one was singing the two part song.
Of course, the reason they got the giggles was Dem, because he substituted a line for the original, and they got the giggles over the inside joke. Everytone got a good laugh out of it, especially Sebastian and I, because we saw the same Insane Clown Posse movie. Maybe I am a bad influence on them lol.
Other than that, I've worked all weekend. Im on call, which means if the phon goes off in the middle of the night, I have to go. Personally, I like being on call. It's never a hard locate, and we get extra money just to be on call. But it was a busy weekend personally for me, so everything is rush rush rush! Luckily I got a callout 4 miles away from a wedding reception I'm going to tomorrow, so I'll get paid to go to the reception. I just hope nothing else comes in.
Thats pretty much my life in a nutshell this weekend, so next weekend I hope its nice and slow..but it never is. Going to see a friends band Friday, so that'll will be a good start to that weekend!
