Criminals don't follow gun laws

Mass shootings only happen in gun-free zones. If everybody had a gun, somebody would take down a crazed shooter, quickly. You don't want you're children to have a gun but it looks like instead of grasping gun control (with white knuckles) and passing out ballistic equipment to the children, they could give school faculty members a state registered gun. What are your thoughts?
