I was born in Minneapolis Minnesota and was raised in Iowa, Illinois, New jersey, Pennsylvania and Indiana. I was taught how to swim in the Atlantic at the age of 6 where on my 1st lesson I was stung by a jelly fish, LOL!! My dad did a great job with us kids (I have 3 younger sisters), we never seemed to lack or want for anything. I graduated in 1972 from Mt. Lebanon High School, a suburb of Pittsburgh PA.That following December I enlisted in the U.S. Navy, boot camp at Great Lakes IL, (in mid-winter too!), attended "A" school at Ft. Harrison in the north east part of Indianapolis and finally received orders for the U.S.S. Saratoga, CV-60. Reported aboard ship in the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yards where it was be refitted after a tour in 'Nam. Our home port was Mayport FL, I have 2 Med Cruises as fond memories.
