well, my computer was taking forever to load stuff up, and i hardly ever got a complete image loaded when visiting sites, or trying to rate some pics around FUBAR...so i decided i was gonna reformat and that would take care of it...well, it usually does...anyhoo...i reformatted and i cannot even connect to get my windows updates, nor my virus updates. so...i get on the phone with my internet provider, and 5 phone calls later i finally get this nice tech that does what he is suppose to do...even though all my lights are on and solid on my modem...the cable company is not getting a signal or any communication from my modem. he even checks the past few weeks of communication, and tells me that my moden has been dropping the signal more and more frequently....so a tech is coming out this afternoon and hopefully i will be back up to par with my internet stuff... i hope so anyways, i had 3 classes that began today, and if i don't get back up to par, i am just going to have to drop them

Just When Life Seems Boring...

Msrain's Birthday Weekend
It was a spontaneous thing to do.. but I decided to take MsRain to the Pacific Ocean for her birthday. I just came into the house from working outside, said get a few things together we are leaving. She asked me where we were going and I told her... THE BEACH! You should have seen the look of surprise on her face, it was beautiful. She was so excited, never having seen the Ocean before. So she got some things together and we left for the coast. We went down Hwy 30 in Oregon all the way to Astoria and then headed south on Hwy 101. As we cruised down the coastal highway we came across a nice little state park to take a break at... Ecola State Park. There she got her first look at the Pacific Ocean. While we were there, there were ELK grazing by the park; not more than a 100 feet away. She had never seen them before (at least not that up close & personal). THE GUNTHER CUNNINGHAM EXPERIENCE I’m going to stop calling Gunther Cunningham a defensive coordinator, because if training camp is any indication, he’s having more fun being a linebackers coach this year. He’s reveling in his newfound responsibility, and it’s a delight to watch. This afternoon Cunningham had his linebackers attack a blocking sled until it seemed their bodies would fall apart. As each player took his turn slamming into the sled and driving it upwards, Cunningham circled his miniature house of pain shouting words of encouragement and motivation. No Fun Having Broken Leg

The real estate folks don't care since they are selling another house. Everyone down the line is fat, dumb, and happy and nobody questions how this guy can afford this house. Seizures
They suck. Enough said? If not, let me say that I think I suffered one this afternoon. Scary as it is, it was minor, but it seems my black outs are slowly escalating. There has been a drastic decrease in the time between them, as in what was once maybe one a month has become an almost daily event. Today was the scary part though, because I had a seizure, I think. I blacked out while sitting in my computer chair, and when I came to I couldn't see or hear anything, only felt my body jerking around. Then my vision started to come back and my hearing returned last of all, only I didn't know it had gone away until I realized my ears had been ringing. It was a very disturbing experience. Well...things have changed yet again... The ex and I are working on fixing things and getting back together. Oklahoma Update

San Francisco police are looking for the person who stabbed a dog to death and dumped the body in the Bayview. Investigators say Pogo, a 7-month-old puppy, disappeared at Ocean Beach last week. Volunteers with Grateful Dog Rescue posted fliers offering a reward for the return of the dog -- who only had three legs. His body was found in an industrial part of the Bayview on Tuesday morning. How Private Are Your Private Pictures On Fubar?
You might be surprised at just how freely available your pictures marked as private or NSFW really are. I recently found out that I could view the full size version of any picture on Fubar as long as I could view the thumbnail version of the supposed private picture. So to show just how this works I setup a test picture album that can be found here. Notice how the album shows that there are several pictures in the album, but when you go to the album, there are only two pictures viewable. This got me to asking myself; How do they protect the integrity of privacy here? As I found out, they don't do much. All pictures are stored as image files directly accessible to anybody on the Internet that knows the file name. So, how do you get the file name of the full size image? Simple, You get it from the thumbnail version and simply remove a couple characters from the file name. My Dad
AS most of you know my father is a fire fighter, hence the name. He has been gone since sunday night, he is one of the thousands fireman fighting the mariposa fires. I guess a part of me is proud and a part of me is selfish because I want him home. He has been a fireman for over 30 years and he knows what he's doin. A First For Me As A Dad...
So, I was doing "airplane" with my four-month-old son, and I didn't realize he'd just eaten. You parents out there can see where this is going, but for the benefit of non-parents, read on. As I said, I was doing "airplane" with him, and we were on the futon in our library. He loves airplane, but this one turned out WAY bad. New Apartment

The Saga Of My Gimpy Knee And Leg...
Finally saw the Orthopedic surgeon today... After waiting a month to see him, I finally got in to see the orthopedic surgeon this morning. My left kneecap has no cartilage behind it and its displaced to the side. Surgery can be done to properly position the kneecap, but due to the selling in my leg it can't be done. He had no answer as to the cause of the swelling in my leg. He did order injections of a lubricating fluid into the knee joint to reduce the irritation and those will start in two weeks. As for the cyst, it's caused by the irritation of the joint and he's not going to directly treat the cyst, so I'm stuck with it for now. I'm not real pleased with the lack of answers to date or solutions to the swelling in my leg, so I called my primary care doctor to let him know and maybe he can get better answers for me! So that's it for now...

Had A Wreck Today
Yeah, I had just left my house. Got to stop sign at end of my street and my van jerked when I put on my brakes. I had to make my turn in a hurry cause a car was coming and my van wouldnt stop. Drove up the street to a 4-way intersection (had a stop light) van wouldnt stop even after I mashed on my brakes. I ended up rearending a woman in front of me. But if she hadnt been there my van would have went off in the middle of the intersection. That would have been a totaly disaster. Anyhow, I was freaked out and crying before I or the woman even got out of our vehicles. Two McAlester officers showed up on the seen and 1 of them asked if I could drive my van to move it out of the way. I told him no my brakes were gone. He then opened my door and applied his foot to the brake and saw that yes indeed I had no brakes. They checked our drivers licenses and insurances and let the woman go. But I had to have my van towed. My oldest two boys rode w/ the officers home. And I and my youngest two

Many of my friends are either in retail or some sort of customer service job/career. Having been there myself customer service as an electrician and retail as an assistant manager at a shoe store, we know that people can be mean and rude, but also nice and accommodating. There are always ignorant people or stupid people in the world, we can't help that but it is understandable. What really gets to me are the people who, for the most part, are intelligent and knowledgeable, but when things don't go their way or they don't get their way they resort to Neanderthal behavior, and intentionally, either consciously or subconsciously, act ignorant or stupid or both. Another Important Milestone
Well, guess what? Yeah....Now I am under 40 days. I have 37 days left. 26 days till I start clearing post. I have been busy, but took a 4 day pass this past weekend. I went to the pool on Sunday, and OH DAMN! did I get burned. I got baked, deep fried, and then toasted. Luckily I had two days to heal a bit before I had to be back at work, but it wasn't much. I have started on my second bottle of Aloe already, and yes, I did put on Sunscreen, but guess that the stuff they give out at the pool is not as effective as what I buy at the PX. Thankfully, Under Armor doesn't rub too much, and I am back to wearing it. On Friday of this week, we had our monthly MWR event, we had a tailgate party in the motor pool.
