Today my heart got shattered I was awoke by the phone a call telling me that my 2nd oldest Granddaughter had been hit by a Toyota Pick up that ran a stop sign !! She has a 50 50 chance of surviving this her brain is fine, but the rest of her body is all broke up !! The view that Maimonides takes in Book III of Guide of the Perplexed regarding the pointlessness of searching for a purpose of the universe is wrong looking at it from our current understanding of evolution. Maimonides sees the act of trying to find purpose in the universe pointless because of limited scope of knowledge in Aristotle and because of the problem of God in Jewish philosophy. Hurricane Ike... We started out leaving that AM about 9:30, thought of a friend we knew would be stranded.We went to pick her up,she wanted to STAY!!! Crazy Lady!!! We convinced her to go,dropped her off in Huntsville. As part of her thank you she allowed us to use her Tom Tom GPS.About 10 miles outside of Huntsville,Tx the Tom Tom tells us to turn right,there was no right to turn on.It continues to tell us to turn right. Finally, a few miles up the highway we make a right, it says to get back on the motorway. I look at my Honey,"This is too weird,what gives?" We head for the exit.He asked,"I wonder why this crazy thing wanted us to exit then only enter the highway again?" I couldn't believe it when I found out yesterday. A lounge I go to, which is Lace Ur Leather, kicked me out for supposedly that people tend to leave when I come in. I thought to myself, why? Stir together Potatoes, Sauce Mix, boiling water and milk in ungreased 2-quart casserole. Stir in beef and 1/2 cup of the cheese. 3. Bake uncovered about 30 minutes or until top is light golden brown. Sprinkle chips over casserole; sprinkle remaining cheese over chips. Bake 3 to 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. BANANA NUT BREAD 2 2/3 cups flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 cup or 1 stick margarine 1 cup sugar 3 eggs 2 medium-ripe bananas, peeled and mashed 3/4 cup chopped pecans 2 teaspoons grated orange rind (optional) Grease a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan and line bottom with waxed paper. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda together. Cream margarine and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time until fluffy again. Stir in in flour mixture alternately with bananas. Fold in pecans and orange rind. Pour into pan and bake in 325 degree oven for 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Well, first of all, thought I am not really new to computers by any means, I have never done a blog before. I hope I can figure it out later. Today I had a friend call me and tell me that he lost a patient. It wasn't any patient it was a fellow firefighter that he had worked with at the fire department he is at. This friend is a Fire Fighter/ EMT and knows that he can call me at anytime if he has a rough day. He has said before and again tonight that I'm one of the few people he can call and I'm able to calm him down. I didn't know what to say about this call though I didn't know how to empathize with him other than listen to him talk. He was called out on an unconscious person, and when he showed up the patient was in cardiac arrest. They didn't know who it was of course because only sometimes do we get information about the patient before we get there. The most we get is an age and sex. It Went Up To 27 Days!
Well, the count went up to 27 days and then the big surprise for me...yuppers I got lucky with the ole lady!!! I couldn't believe it. I do not know how I was lucky because lately I have been getting some serious heartburn at night and the only way I can sleep is if I sleep in a sitting position in one of the couches in the living room. So Friday we are able to get away from the kids and just do some talking between me and her and wifey tells me that she looked for me the other night but I wasn't there. I told her ya because I was asleep in the living room. But still I was clueless because wifey kept on saying...yes I was LOOKING FOR YOU!! Then I was like...Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. So that night...I took some medication to curb my heartburn...and went to bed. Sure enough...that night...she came "looking for me" but this time I was ready!!! Soo...I came back from California today. The trip was awesome, it was great to see in laws. I love them, and so envy hubby with parents, I wish mine were like that... I Should Have Written A Mumm But Here Goes....
Okay, so I was checking on my friend after the holidays and trying to find out if her son made it back from his stay with his dad. He is 2 1/2 too. Well, when I talked to her she told me that her son was sick and was running over a 103 degree temp when she got him back. I guess, apparently, her ex fiance did not have any heat at his place and no food in the house for the ten days that he had his son. I told her that she should have filed a CPS report against him but it would do no good as he lives out of state. Basically, she had to take her son straight to the emergency room because he had the first stages of pnemonia and was very very sick. Luckily, she knows that she will not allow for her son to ever go back to his father again and that he will get only supervised visitations. I am still wondering today that since her ex allowed this to happen she should have called someone about her ex, though. Her ex is finally back at his home and now my friend is caring for a very sick child...

I seen the funniest thing today. I'm staying at a hotel again. I'd went down to the first floor, by the lobby to get some chips out of the vending machine. Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. Today
Well she is home again today, that makes 3 days being home sick. So walking on eggshells all day will be a normal thing for me again. Yesterday when I went downtown to the women's drop in center, she had left in the morning and didnt get home till the afternoon. I literally stayed in my room until they went to bed. Not one word has been spoken since she told me I had 2 weeks to be out. Today I have orientation for the UGM shelter from 1-3. Only thing is their waiting list is upto 6 mths. I'm so fucking irritated. I had to write an essay for admittance into my grad program. It was rejected. My content, organization, and language were unsatisfactory. But there are only four little notes on my actual essay. The first one says "wording" over a phrase that I used, "well rounded academic program". On one of my paragraphs it says "organization" in the margin. The third is crossing out And and capitalizing the next word. And the final is "what is this?" written over that same phrase I used. What the fuck? With those minor things how can the essay be that unsatisfactory? That's total horse shit. I don't have the time to go back over to that damn office and type another essay. I know the essay is good, what the hell is wrong with these people? If anyone wants the essay to read it and maybe correct some things let me know. I'll gladly email it to you. It's not very long.

Pleh..... I stayed over with iDaHo last night cuz her car had broke down so I could give her a ride to work. Shortly after dropping her off, my phone rang and it was the transitional place apologizing that they had a situation come up and it had to be dealt with today. They rescheduled my interview for next Friday morning at 10am. I did ask her how long it takes to find out after the interview if I had been accepted in and she said it takes a few weeks because they check everything out to see where they are able to help you. I guess thats gonna put it another few weeks out :( I am tired today, didnt sleep well last night, but thats nothing unusual as of late.
