all i did yesterday was stuff my face with food, in work I have been busy as its gone a bit mental as its end of the month for payroll so allsorts of things have been going wrong, anyway doing okay so far, there have only been a couple of times I wanted one, but that passed, still got the patches which i dont think i could do without.

A Familys Loss
It seems the only time i find myself writing a new blog is when something sad in my life happens and yes it has again. I just lost my father in law. He lost a long battle with cancer. My husband and I had been careing for him his last couple months. He is no longer in pain and we feel he is home now. He is getting better and better with each day. He drove last night for the first time at night and he did pretty good. He drives like an old man now. But he will his reassurance back with time and some more experience. He goes back to his speech therapist on Tuesday I think and he will be getting more work with is speech and words. It is fun to see how he is progressing with each of therapy sessions for he gets better and better with each one. I tell you what, Wii is the best physical therapy ever. We got the Wii Fit for Christmas and he is on that thing every day working with it. He is getting better and better with it and it is so challenging for him. He especially is getting to this yoga and balance games on the Wii. It is going to be great year in 2009.

It's official, my Dr. has released me to go back to work. So I went back to work, on call, with no problems.I won't go back full time, just on call. It's still snowy and icy here in the great state of IL, so my boss and I don't think it's in my best interest to walk around, and chance tearing my back up again. I have started back at the Y. So far some light cardio, and some very light weights. No more than 50 pounds as per the Dr, and I don't even go near that. Just stretching some things out. Doing this seems to help a bit with the craziness! Was @ work this morning & my daughter had to call in to me...it's sooo frustrating trying to get a phone call where I work! The call finally got thru to me and was told Mom needs a blood transfusion! I know Mom's 84 and has lived a long, full life and the Alzheimer's, or I should say the effects of it, drive me out of my mind @ times! But I love Mom and I've been a basketcase today over all this!

Sate Ajam Serving: Serves: 6 Total Time: 50 minutes INGREDIENTS: 18 small mushrooms 6 boneless, skinless chicken-breast halves 1/4 cup olive oil 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper 1/2 teaspoon cumin 1 teaspoon minced garlic DIRECTIONS: Cut chicken into 1-inch pieces and cut stems off mushrooms. Alternate pieces of chicken and mushrooms on skewers. (Push skewers through tops of mushrooms so they will not split). Place skewered chicken in a shallow casserole. Combine olive oil, lime juice, pepper, cumin, and garlic and pour over chicken. Turn skewers to coat chicken and mushrooms with oil mixture. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Preheat broiler. Place skewers on broiler pan and broil 6 inches from heat for about 10 minutes or until cooked through. Turn and baste several times. Serve over rice and spoon warm marinade over chicken pieces. Thoughts On The Flag
This was meant to be a response to a blog post about the flag, and inappropriate use. These are my personal feelings, and while I understand people's feelings about the flag and it's protection, I feel that I should express myself. I have read the flag code, and probably have a lot of it memorized. I can tell you the appropriate way to burn the flag after it has become worn and tattered and can no longer be repaired. I can also tell you how a Soldier is to treat the flag if the installation is about to fall. These are my feelings, and while some may get angered, and some may get happy about them, I am only sharing them because I wrote them to be shared. 2009 The First Half
Isn't it amazing how life is one continuous chain of new beginnings and endings. I began 2009 unemployed (laid off Oct 17 2008) frightened of what lie ahead and more than a lil depressed over where I had found myself in this new year. The amazing turn of events that have led me now in June to being a full time student at the age of 47 were something that Ifelt the need to share to drive home a point to all of those that are still where I was in January. Stinky Mcstinky!
So when I went away with my friends anywhere they are always shocked when I don't pack deodorant or use it religiously like they do. But I'm a simple girl...I'm not fussed about smelling like a bucket of flowers. My most common scent is prolly when I just smell of soap out of the shower. I don't see the need for deodorant myself cos if I get stinky then I just go shower...DUR! Right but my friends, they don't get stinky like straight away either but it seems like they think that no smell=bad and that they have to smell of something flowery 24/7. In my own lil world, deodorant and perfume doesn't really play much of a factor. I'll prolly spray it if I remember (which is pretty much never). Is it normal for most other people to use it regularly? Like just another daily routine such as brushing your teeth or something?

Im not really impressed with this whole big attitude on the internet, a venue where everyone is free to hype themselves up as whatever they wish. Brown chicken in butter; Drain. Combine syrup with sherry, soy sauce, garlic and ginger. Pour over chicken. Cover, simmer 30 minutes, turning chicken once. Remove chicken. Add pineapple, bell pepper, celery, green onion and papaya to pan. Dissolve cornstarch in 1/2 cup water. Stir into pan. Bring to boil. When thickened, spoon over chicken.
