New Hires

Here's an old recipe... It's old to the point I had to change some terms to include the use of modern appliances that don't rely on burning wood to operate... Try it!! It goes very well with slow-roasted beef, ham or as a wonderful side dish with just about anything. Hope you like it!! Butter your favorite oven-safe 1-1/2 or 2qt baking dish. Pour into this dish, a can of creamed corn. (Save the can!!) Stir two Tablespoons of flour into the dish with the corn. Next, crack two eggs into the empty corn can. Beat the eggs nicely. Blend a cup of cream or milk and a half teaspoon of salt, with the eggs, in the can. Stir the egg mixture into the creamed corn. Crack several soda crackers (saltines) over the corn to cover lightly and evenly. Dot the top with butter. Chinese Thanksgiving
For the last three years Ive been going to my aunts house for Thanksgiving, and there have been a Chinese couple there (Penphen and his wife Lin) spending the evening with us. This year Penphen brought his parents with. From my understanding it was their first time here in the states. So they were experiencing things for the first time, simple things too. They dont have grass, so his mom and dad actually had my aunt bring out their lawn mower so they could cut grass. Penphen's father is 77, and Ive never seen someone smile so much while cutting grass. His wife didnt seemed as thrilled by it though. Neither of his parents spoke English, so there was a LOT of "can you translate this" and "what did she say" during the evening. Loneliness
When will this loneliness end? How can I end this loneliness? I go to work and then come home. There is emptiness in my home. No one to greet me when I get home. No one has called me to see what's going on. I sit at home everyday and night alone. I go online, but it is pretty much the same thing. No one really talks to me. When I try to make conversation I get ignore. I am a boring person. Do I come off as weird or just not worth the time to take them time to know me? I don't understand what's going on in my life. I've tried to go to clubs and other social places to try and find someone who would take a chance with me. I'm a shy person. It's very hard for me to approach a woman, and try to make conversation with her. I feel like why do I bother. I keep asking myself. Is my life really worth living. Update.
I just got home from my mother's appointment. He said without the surgery Mother wouldn't live much longer at all. He is not sure if he can find an aortic vein to graph from, but he is going to try. So the surgery has to happen in the next couple of weeks. She goes to the cardiologist tomorrow afternoon to insure her heart is strong enough, then surgery will be scheduled. He did tell us that this surgery is VERY complicated and he is not sure if she will make it through, BUT with surgery there is a chance she will live. He can't offer any more assurance than that, but we will take it! It's something. We could have walked in there to be told he wouldn't try surgery and she doesn't have much time. We will take the risk. She is with my sister right now and will be coming here tomorrow to stay a few days.

Vegetable-stuffed Roast
1 2 to 3 pound beef eye of round roast 4 slices bacon 1 cup chopped onion 1 cup shredded carrot 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon dried basil, crushed To butterfly the roast, make a single lengthwise cut down the center of the meat, cutting to within 1/2 inch of the other side. Spread the meat open. At the center of the roast make on perpendicular slit to the right of the V and one perpendicular slit to the left. Cover the roast with clear plastic wrap. Pound with a meat mallet to 1/2 to 3/4 inch thickness. Set aside. Cook bacon till crisp. Drain, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings. Crumble bacon; set aside. Cook onion, carrot, garlic and basil in reserved drippings over medium heat until tender. Remove from heat. Stir in bacon. Remove plastic wrap from roast. Spread bacon mixture over roast. Roll up from one of the short sides. Tie with string to secure. Place meat on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Insert meat thermometer. Roast in a 325 degree oven for 1 1/4 to

My New Job
Well, I started my new job, back in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. I used to work for the CEO of this company about 6 years ago, and happened to call him for a job reference, and ironcally enough, he needed someone, and I really wanted to go back to work there. As most of my friends on here already know my Mom passed away on 12/30/08. For the months that she was in Hospice while they were hard, I am so grateful I had that extra time with her. I deleted all of my blogs, except for the ones that I had set for family. Why? Because I want to start fresh on here. I already cleaned out my friends list, so this was the only thing left to do. So I'm getting a lot of feedback on what people think fakes are and aren't. As there are many different terms for the word fake. I think from now on I'll simply refer to them as con artists. Just An Interesting Thought
I know I am not the first to think this But I find it interesting. I think it is interesting that when the internet first started to become popular only those that could trully afford it had access to it. Now almost everyone is on it and using it. We were warned not to talk to strangers and not to meet people in person that we only know on the internet. Although we still teach this to our childern, and rightfully so, we now have sites like fubar, myspace, and facebook were we are encouraged to talk to strangers. As for not meeting people well we have sites like eharmony, match, and other dating sites that encourage us not only to talk to people but meet people. Nothing wrong with any of this. My Son
This past Saturday my son had extreme abdominal pain, then 2 days later pain in his thighs that he described as bad enough to make him puke. Both times he went to the ER, both times told it was nothing more than muscle cramps. My son is 24yrs. old and has always been an athlete. He still holds his High School's indoor High Jump Record and is 4th overall on most recieving yards in a season for their football team, so we're not talking a lazy whiny kid. Health Issue Update
So my 24 hours of peeing in the orange jug is over. It was a slightly gross and uncomfortable experience and I wont get the results back for a bit. Though one of my blood tests did come back and everything was normal on that one other then an elevated white blood cell count. The odd part is I’m not showing any signs of an infection or virus so I’ve been put on broad-spectrum antibiotics and in ten days have to have my blood drawn all over again (I really hate needles). I’m going to try to put it all out of my mind for the weekend though. It’s going to be a busy weekend as is but on the bright side I get to spend a lot of it in my happy place (the arms of one very special guy). But for now there is a kitchen that needs cleaning and laundry that needs doing, everything else including worries can just wait.

I Dont Get It...

Today was a really good day. And I'm not really sure why I think so. probably because the weather decided to calm down a bit and be "pleasant". As I write this i've had 4 hrs sleep in the last 40 hrs but im surprisingly wide awake. Worked a night shift at the hospital for my sons mom last night and thats how you end up being tired and wide awake at the same time. The weather ended up being beautiful tonight. Grandaughter In Hospital

Life
I have had a pretty decent life I would say .I have met many people along the way. Some just pass through, and they fade away, a few have came and gone, and came back again. It's always nice to have someone to love, but that is not the case for everyone. Sometimes when we really need someone, it's then when we realize just how much you mean to someone, or how much your own life means, I have recently had a minor heart attack, and I don't feel as if I should be old enough to start having these problems, but they are here now. What Happened To My Leg
My youngest son broke a china plate (he pulled it off the kitchen table), my wonderful hubby cleaned it all up for me, but when I came back into the living room, I stepped over the garbage bag that had the broekn pieces in it, but I didnt step far enough over and the plate was standing up against the edge of the bag (broken side up) and it cut the hell outta my leg as I put my foot down.. ended up with 15 stitches.. those pics were taken at the hospital rigtht after they stitched it up.... it looks (and hurts) alot more now

Thoughts On Osama Bin Laden
I had a friend comment on facebook that the killing of Bin Laden was just another mess of Bush's that Obama had to clean up. Doctors
So those of you who know me well know that for the past 18 months I have been dealing with severe shoulder and arm pain. For the longest time The doctors thought the problem was in my neck since the mri's showed a bad disc. Countless months were spent pursuing this angle, including physical therapy and medication, all with no progress. Finally, after 3 doctors and one surgeon, not to mention almost having major neck surgery that turns out would have been totally unnecessary, my last doctor finally found the problem in my shoulder not my neck. Turns out I have a nerve impingement in my shoulder as well as a couple bone spurs grinding on things. Finally a light at the end of the tunnel. NOT!
