1 Year Ago
It has been one year since the massacre of those innocent people. I still to this day get tears when I deliver the mail to those boxes. All those lives shattered...and I often wonder why I was spared. I also thank God that I was. They had a memorial service 2 nights ago..It was so sad. All the family and friends of the slain were there...remembering their loved ones and clinging to each other for comfort. The healing will be a long time in coming...if it ever does. I hope and pray this insanity never happens again.

A Ring
Yesterday I was at my Moms. She decided to go through some old jewlery that was her mothers. It's a little weird that I don't call her my Grandmother, but I never really got to know her. She died when I was 8 months old. Anyway, my Mom looks at me and tells me that this one particular ring that was her Mother's. She asks me if I would clean it for her...so I did. The next thing I know, my Mom tells me I can have it. This is the only thing I have that was my grandmother's. I really love it. I think it's suppose to be silver, but it's so old that it has a black tint to it. It also has a pink stone in it. I'm sure it's not real and I really don't care. I wear it and I love it. A few weeks ago I decided that I was finally decided to get a Wii Fit. I know, I know....I'm a little slow at these things. But the thing is, I got it. Disappearing Acts Of Me!
So, I've had quite a lot of messages from people who've known me on Fu since my first account about 5-6years ago about where I've been and why I come back for a short period of time and vanish again without a goodbye. I've had a lot of family issues, my partner has problems with his eyes and has required several lots of surgery over the past 18 months to try and save his eyesight (I think we are finally winning on that front!). My grandparents were ill over Christmas and new year’s, ended up going into a care home and unfortunately we lost my granddad last month. Yet Another Day...
Seems like right now my life is at a virtual standstill. I haven't done anything really fun, adventurous or crazy in I don't know how long. What is happening to Lost Cherry? My God it used to be this great website where you could log on and meet alot of really cool people. Now? Its a place to log on and meet alot of attention whores and perverts. It's The Weekend! ... So What.
Well, this weekend is turning out not to be very restful. I have several AC projects lined up to write, and most of them will have to be done by Monday. Likely, they'll see publication over next week. They're specific content pieces, so they won't be the thought-provoking type - more practical. Possibly a humor piece in there as well. I have a new piece of digital art to send up - as soon as I come up with a title. Usually a title comes to me pretty easily, but not this time. Well my first session of the fall 2006 semester is over and I know I passed my Critical Thinking and Problem Solving class. What brought this on, I do not know. But these painful memories are my foe. One after another I relive them clear as day. Wanting nothing more than for them to go away. What to do? What to do? I'm sitting here pondering theories of the universe and I think I would like a couple of things clarified for me because I'm just not understanding. #1: Why is it we do the things we do? When do we lose the hope of being or doing something better; or just plain ol' trying in general? We all seem to putter around in a bleak fog that hazes and clouds our minds until we basically get unto a repetative cycle and we don't even have to think anymore. Why? I'm to blame for it too. I catch myself now and again just meandering through, like a lazy crooked river, just trying to find something to spark that little bit of life again. Do we get this way as we get older or is it just what happens when you give up? When you forget all the things you wanted to be or do?
