Happy Australia Day!
Well the time has come that all Aussies look forward to.. thats right.. a public holiday! Formally known as Australia Day which for my non aussie friends roughly translates to BBQ's, drinking, backyard cricket , spending time with mates who load up the back of their ute with ice and booze (good on ya boys) and a whole lot of aussie pride. This is also the time of year that people wishing to become australian citizens get naturalised as Aussies. A great thing to see.. a bunch of people all different colours with different accents standing in a line wanting to live for all australia stands for... mainly they just want the beer and BBQ im onto them. We touch our children’s lives and personalities in ways we can never truly know and understand. Here's my first Fubar rant! Are yall excited? Poor MySpace and LJ has put up with enough of em. Ready? Ready? OK, now here we are. Mankind...21st century. I Need A Few More Drivers For The Ron Paul March!
June 21st looks like it is going to be the date.... We will be leaving from Kennewick, WA I was figuring we could leave on the 17th of June, that gives us 4 days to get there :-) then if we drove ABOUT 10 hours a day, we would get there on time. Here is the distance and estimated travel time... Estimated Time: 39.0 hours 1 minute Estimated Distance: 2626 miles also, I have a big tent, sleeping bags, 2 coolers, and I should be able to get lots of food and such, I just need help with gas/driving....and if we decided to stay in a hotel or something....the more people the cheaper this trip should be...AND the more FUN!!!! (New York is only about 4 hours away from Washington DC!) Gas is going to be about 400$ there and 400$ back.... My Mom
I must say when it rains, it pours. Tomorrow my mom is having a test done on her heart. If they find a blockage or the tear in her heart is too large, she will have open heart surgrey. I thought I was nervous earlier this week. Tonight I am kind of freaked out. My mom is my best friend. She is the lady that I tell everything to. My mom raised all her grandchildren. What is pain? It could be so many different things for so many different people. Pain can be a broken arm or leg, a tattoo, or any kind of physical injury. I think the worst kind is mental or inner pain. Going through a divorce is painful yes but I think its even worse when the kids are getting hurt. If you love your kids and you see them hurting because of what you have done or your spouse, if your any kind of parent it will hurt you too. August seems to be the battleground for low-brow comedies nowadays. As some of you know by now, Pineapple Express -- though it be from the Judd Apatow-Seth Rogen, et al juggernaut - is not exactly a bust-a-gut, "ooohhh my lord" laugh-fest a la The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Superbad or Knocked Up. It has plenty of moments, and definitely a stoner flick. As we all know by now (i.e. Harold and Kumar, Half-Baked, Grandma's Boy), stoner flicks are cool, hilarious as hell and even pretty witty in a sickly subversive way. But Pineapple Express pays tribute to the cheeseball buddy/crime movies of the '70s and '80s. And it works at that. Rogen again plays the stumbling straight man perfectly while James Franco is a revelation as his dope-dealing "pal" and slacker. And hey, Gary Cole just needs to stick with these irreverent comedies. Joint Pain Iii
I am still having loads of pain in my right hip and knee. The pain of walking is almost as bad as it was before I had the surgery on my other knee in 2000. I can't exercise worth a crap. The orthopaedic doctor was stumped when I saw him last Friday (9-26-08) - he sees and feels nothing wrong. He referred me to yet another doctor, recommended physical therapy and an MRI on my back. He gave me a shot in the knee and it hasn't made any difference that I can tell. MRI and X-Rays back in July really showed nothing wrong other than normal arthritis for someone my age. I can tell you this is not just arthritis. I am going in for an MRI on my back and physical therapy this Friday. I guess they're thinking something in my back (sciatica, a disc, or lumbar, or something) might be causing it. I've never really had any back problems, so this is weird for me. I'm really getting tired of this pain, it's screwing up the quality of my life.

Hot Chicken Salad
Hot Chicken Salad 2 cups chopped chicken, cooked 2 cups diced celery 1/2 cup diced onion 1 cup mayonaisse potato chips Parmesan cheese Season well with salt and pepper. Mix all ingredients and sprinkle top with potato chips and Parmesan cheese. Place in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. Makes 4 servings

Boston Brown Bread
BOSTON BROWN BREAD 1 c. whole wheat flour 1 c. med. rye flour 1 c. yellow cornmeal 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 c. raisins (opt.) 2 c. buttermilk, room temp. 3/4 c. molasses Generously grease 2 (1 pound) coffee cans or 3 (1 lb.) vegetable or fruit cans; set aside. In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, rye flour, cornmeal, baking soda and salt. Add raisins, if desired. Toss to separate and coat with flour mixture. In a medium bowl, combine buttermilk and molasses. Stir into flour mixture only until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn into prepared cans, filling evenly. Cover cans tightly with 2 layers of foil; tie with string. Place a rack in a large kettle. Place cans on rack. Place kettle over low heat. Add boiling water until halfway up cans. Cover; bring water to a gentle boil. Steam bread 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Add more boiling water during steaming, if necessary. Carefully remove bread from cans. C

Was walking out(back to the truck) and luckily spotten one through the corner of the grove before it saw me... Slow And Savory Veggie Soup

My day today did not get off to one of my better starts – one voice mail message from one of my football mates George which came through at 6:30 and thought I would listen to it in the car and ring from work – the time intrigued me. An SMS came through from George again – it told me that my friend Keith Birch (aka Birchy in the great aussie tradition) passed away overnight in his sleep. I got in my car and headed off to work and pondered when to call George and waited decided to wait until I got to work rather than get lost in the emotion of it all in peak hour traffic (I was really upset with myself for not seeing him again before he died and was planning to do it soon given he had just moved into the home not far from my father’s house). An update: Yesterday, I went in to lay down track for the parts I auditioned for (and passed). I wasn’t pleased. The appointment was at 3 PM and at 10:30 that morning until 5:30 that night, I didn’t get a breath. My other job, normally dry, rained. And when that job rains, it pours; a seven hour torrent. May Holiday
Going on holiday for a week from Saturday (23rd). Taking the family to stay in a cottage down in the south west of England. Staying not far from Taunton in Somerset. Never been to that part of England before so will be something different. The cottage is part of an old rectory, has a churchyard close by so the neighbours should be quiet Planning on spending a while researching more of my family tree which is why I am staying in Somerset. Jul 29th [[allsituated]]
Well, I'm happy to say that the move from Bettendorf to Maquoketa went well. The first day we completed all of the painting/priming/etc. The second day I was all moved in and completely unpacked! Awesomeness! Today I made pork roast with my mother and went to the parade with my little sister. I almost passed out there, it was weird but it feels good to be home :) I took a lot of pictures of Haley (my 2 year old sister) and I'm eager to upload/edit them :) She's addorable. There are a few pictures of her in my 'photography' album. Other then that lately I've been trying to focus my energy into practicing guitar. =] It's coming along. Gives me and my fifteen year old sister some bonding time. I can't wait to get a job and start going to school again. I miss being busy. My World Is Spinning And Not In A Good Way
I have been taking Cymbalta 160mg since September 16 for my depression. My psychiatrist was giving me samples because I don't have insurance and this medication costs out the ass without it. Well about a week ago, I ran out of samples and called to get more samples and my regular quack doctor wasn't there and the one on call refused to give me any samples. Now you are not supposed to just stop depression medications because of the increased risk of suicide attempts, seizures, and a crap load of other bad shit, you are supposed to be weaned off them. Since mine have been abruptly stopped I have had increased crying episodes, SEVERE vertigo and dizziness and my lips and feet will tingle and go numb when I have the dizzy spells. It feels like when you were a kid and laid down on a merry go round, closed your eyes and someone spun you around several times. I feel like crap :(

I'm so confused right now and not sure what to do. Everything down here is different and not sure if it'll ever go back to being the way it was. Getting Back To Writing Again
04/06/10 I want to get back to writing and I think this is the best way to start. Getting back to writing my journals/blogs. The weathah has been off lately… off = not sunny. Control
I hate it when girls let thier boyfriends or husbands control them and/or vise versa. telling you who can be your friends with, who you can talk to, or even who you can even hang out with.. Valentines Day
When your birthday falls within the same month as the friend you come across you frequently recognize the date/ occasion relationship (Feb14 and Valentines Day). The problem with Valentines Day, though, is that as a child you only expect gifts for a birthday. Sure you give mom a card because she gave one to dad, to give to you. Then as an adult you have to shift to considering the holiday created by greeting card, candy and floral companies. What a joke. When you love someone you think of them constantly. A holiday for love, nice, try to get a restaurant table for your birthday. I guess the occasion will never expire as long as there is a commercial value to it. Yep its a holiday to sell you more perishables when the credit card balance is at its highest, after Christmas. Well, since I have a birthday on the 14th, I hope you love your mate to death on the 13th, so the morons can get a restaurant seat on my birthday. just heard that i don't get back to kolkata, and then fly back to europe, but have a slight change because someone somewhere managed to get a meeting organised in Malaysia (Klang). So tihs means i have to fly first to Chennai, then Chennai-Singapore. Apple Cheddar Pie
2 1/3 c All-purpose flour 1/2 c Enriched Corn Meal 1 ts Salt (optional) 1/3 c Margarine or butter; plus 2 tb Margarine or butter 1/3 c Vegetable shortening 6 oz Shredded cheddar cheese 1/2 c Ice water 8 c Peeled, sliced apples (about 8 medium apples) 2/3 c Sugar 3/4 ts Cinnamon Combine 2 cups flour, corn meal and salt. Cut in 1/3 cup margarine and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring lightly until mixture forms a ball. Divide dough into 2 parts, 1 slightly larger; shape each to form ball. Wrap securely in plastic wrap or wax paper; chill about 30 minutes. Roll large ball on lightly floured surface to form 11-inch circle. Fit loosely into 9-inch pie plate; trim. Roll remaining dough to form 12-inch square. Cut into 12 x 3/4-inch strips. I Just Found Out
last week I had to go to the hospital and get an x-ray on my left hip and I found out that I have the beginings of arthritis in it. The doctor said that if I didn't get it tended too soon that I would have to get hip replacement surgery. And I am only 26 yrs old.

One Year..
Tomorrow is the one year anniversary since my heart surgery. In the last year I don't think I've done much to really improve my health like I wanted, which is very disappointing. Although I did move to Kingston, so I'm very happy about that. I need to stop being such a lazy ass and do some cardio and other exercises. I was bike riding on a regular basis during the summer, but I need to do something else with winter now here. Otherwise I'm going to put on some weight and I really don't want that to happen. Meh.. I hope tomorrow goes well. I know on Nov 1st I wasn't having a good day since that was the anniversary of my first, not as severe, surgery and that was when I went into cardiac arrest. That still freaks me out, but at least I'm still here.

You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into Reverse. When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car. And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised! I Need Someone To Understand
Ok, here is the deal. I have lived here for just about three years. I have made some wonderful friends that I can't imagine my life with out. But as a college student, I can't be here anymore. No, not because I got kicked out, but because they have taken my program of study a way. I could get just a general degree, but I want my music degree. In order to do that, I am going to transfer to a different college 400 miles away. I know my friends want me to do what is best for me, but they all have a way of making me feel guilty for wanted to finnish me degree way from them. I am leaving. Even if it is hard for me to do, I have to. I just have to figure out a way to tell everyone that I am leaving... it will probably be one of the hardest things for me to do
