September 17th Be There!
CHICAGO -- R. Kelly will go on trial next month, more than five years after he was charged with child pornography. Judge Vincent Gaughan has set a Sept. 17 date for the start of a jury trial, according to the Cook County state's attorney's office. The Chicago Sun-Times reported on its Web site that setting of the date followed a lengthy meeting Wednesday among the judge, the lead prosecutor, the R&B singer and his lawyers. Kelly, who was born Robert Sylvester Kelly, has pleaded not guilty to 14 counts of child pornography. He was charged in 2002 and is accused of allegedly engaging in videotaped sex acts with an underage girl. Kelly's attorneys haven't conceded that he is on the tape, saying his likeness may have been computer generated. They have also tried to raise doubts about the identity and age of the girl.

Pineapple Cranberry Pork Roast
Ingredients: * 1 (3 pound) pork roast * 1 20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained * 1 (1 ounce) packet dry onion soup mix * 1 cup dried cranberries * 2 Tablespoons flour 3 Tablespoons water Method Place pork roast in a 6-quart crock-pot. In a medium bowl mix pineapple, dry soup mix and dried cranberries; pour over roast. Cook on low heat setting for 8 hours or high heat for 4 hours. Remove roast to serving platter and increase heat to high (if necessary). Whisk together flour and water and blend into pan juices; cover and cook for 15 minutes. To serve slice roast, whisk pan gravy to blend well and serve with sliced roast. Notes: This is a nice change from the usual pork roast. The pineapple and cranberries really accent the pork roast and make a nice, chunky sauce for pouring over mashed potatoes or egg noodles. Number of servings: 6-8

Crawfish Etouffee
1 1/4 stick butter or margarine 1 medium onion - diced 2 stalks celery - diced 1 small bell pepper - diced 1 lb peeled crawfish tails 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper Melt butter or margarine. Add diced onions, celery, and bell pepper. Saute' on medium heat until vegetables are translucent – approximately 15 minutes. Add crawfish and Mulate's Cajun Seasoning - stir well. Cook covered on low heat for approximately 15 minutes. You may add chopped parsley or green onions just before serving - do whatever you like! Serve over white rice. Variation: Add 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup just before adding the crawfish.

I Miss Him

This old-fashioned apple cake is made with whole wheat flour and all purpose flour, and walnuts, with a vanilla glaze. INGREDIENTS: * 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, stir before measuring * 1 cup whole wheat flour * 3/4 cup granulated sugar * 1 cup light brown sugar, packed * 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon * 2 teaspoons baking powder * 1 teaspoon salt * 1/2 teaspoon baking soda * 3/4 cup vegetable oil * 1 teaspoon vanilla * 3 eggs * 2 cups finely chopped peeled apples * 1 cup chopped walnuts * Vanilla Glaze, below PREPARATION: In a large mixing bowl, blend all ingredients except chopped apples and walnuts with electric mixer. My Weekend
Yesterday I went to the Valparaiso Popcorn Festival. The town prides itself as the capital of Popcorn.. especially microwave Popcorn. It was the home or Orville Redenbacher. Ok, so divorce is bad and sad, I get that. But why does one person have to be the bad guy... It just didn't work. I've tried every way possible to see if it could work. Maternal Retard
Today one of my assistants brought in his 3 month old son to work. This is the first time that I had seen the baby and the first time that I had held a baby in my arms in probably 4 years. It was definitely a strange feeling. I was a little scared. I had to ask my assistant if I was holding the baby right. It was at that moment I realized… I’m 33 and I’m embarrassed that I had to ask how to hold a baby. Oh my god. There was a point in my life where holding a child was natural to me. Burrito Supreme Casserole
With avocado, beef, and refried beans, this casserole is a hearty Mexican meal. Ingredients 8 (8") flour tortillas 1-1/2 C. tomato juice 1 env. taco seasoning mix 1 Tbs. vegetable oil 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 can (16 oz.) refried beans 3 C. shredded cheddar, divided 1 small avocado 1 Tbs. lemon juice 1-1/2 C. shredded lettuce 1 C. chopped tomato Directions Wrap tortillas securely in aluminum foil; bake at 350Âº F. for 15 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Combine tomato juice, seasoning mix and oil; stir well, and set aside. Cook ground beef in a large skillet until browned, stirring to crumble; drain. Stir in beans and 1/2 C. tomato juice mixture. Greek Roasted Chicken & Potatoes
A great dish to serve when company is over. Ingredients 6 lb. chicken (roaster) Salt and pepper 2 – 3 Tbs. dried oregano 4 - 6 baking potatoes, peeled and quartered 1/4 C. butter, melted 3 Tbs. lemon juice 3/4 C. chicken broth Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Ok so I just got home from my female dr. The news isnt good. I told him of the severe pains Ive been having still. You all know I have severe endometrosios. Ive had it for 11 yrs with 7 laps done in that time. Well today when I went in I explained the pain and that the pain pills are not helping the pain at all. I have two choices. The first is a shot that stops the flow of estrogen in the system. You can only do that for one year. (and i would still be able to have children later) And he said it very expensive. (so much so that they dont carry it in the office) I dont see my insurance approving that. Or I can get a hystromacaty. That isnt something I want because I would someday like to have another child. Update # 4....sucks Ass
Mary is not happy right now. I'm sitting in the torture chamber (wound care center), letting them do their thing. Which is remove the top layer of skin. Well today, I couldn't get my normal lala shots, because they were unsure of what procedure the vascular surgeon/doctor was going to do. I did take my slow release morphine which was releasing way too slow for this shit. Anyway, as they were finishing up, my cell phone rings. So, I ask one of the nurses to answer it. Imagine this.....The vascular surgeon was calling to postpone my appointment until Thursday. The nurse wouldn't even give me the phone. My blood pressure was already 212/150 from the pain and she knew if I got on the phone something was gonna explode.
