Funny....
It's funny I always though writing things out helped. My friends had said it helped. For awhile it did help. Now though anytime I do that it just keeps pouring out like an uncorked bottle. Yesterday I had apple and pears for breakfast because the bowl of pre-soaked oats did not seem to say, "Eat me." Health Crisis
So in my city there has been an eruption of news stories for the past few weeks about malpractice in 5 different medical facilities. Apparently the head of these southern Nevada endoscopy centers has ordered staff to re-use needles and viles. There have been many cases of hepatitis and HIV reported following the investigation. At least one class action civil lawsuit has been filed thus far for second degree murder for a patient who died in 2006 due to a hepatitis exposure as a result of this neglegence however most people can't prove in court that their diseases were a direct result of this scandal. I moved here recently and am not affected by the outbreak but it seems like we as a community ought to grab a pitchfork and a torch and go to the mothref*cker's house who's responsible, drag him into the street, and publicly execute him. Nobody seems to feel this way, at least nothing has been done as far as vigilanteism goes. What the f*ck!!!??

Spring Is In The Air
It's 58 degrees and I can feel the wildness of spring tugging at me. Time to drag out the shorts and put away the heavy socks and sweats. I’m in a giggly, wildish mood. Ui Scientists Seek Marijuana Smokers
WHO-TV April 12, 2008--A group of University of Iowa scientists is looking for marijuana smokers to help gain insight into the drug's effects. And they plan to pay subjects as much as 600 dollars to smoke their pot. The study examines how marijuana affects brain function and cognition, with particular attention to the duration of use and the age of first use. The measure is brain imaging studies and achievement tests, such as for math and verbal skills. Robert Block is an associate professor in the school's Department of Anesthesia and the lead investigator on the project. He says the group is looking for pot users and control subjects who consume alcohol and tobacco -- but not marijuana -- to participate in the study. Rememberance
Well, all, I'm only here for a little while (though aren't we all? lol). The saddest thing about Memorial Day is the remembrance of my dad. He was in this veterans organization and every year during the memorial day weekend, there were places to go and things to do. Living in Maryland at the time helped, but they had people coming from all over including Europe. The culmination of all this was the event at Arlington National Cemetery, for the Memorial Day Festivities. See all those graves with an American Flag on them made one kind of misty-eyed, visiting certain gravesides, one being Gen. Pershing, and then on to the amphitheater for speeches, and where the President (or his representative) would lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns, followed by many leaders of various veterans organizations, to many to name here. Hello all, Just thought I wold keep you all posted on whats been going on lately. I had a friend take me downtown to apply for a public defender. Found out that when they state that if you cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed for you, well, thats not entirely accurate, one will be provided for $265.00 processing/public attorney fee...so, got 60 days to pay that somehow, but, at least the paper work is being processed anyways and an attorney is supposed to contact me in a few days to discuss the case and see what we can come up with. Still no court date in the mail yet, but, they did state it can take 4-6 weeks, so, guess just keep checking the mail and see when it comes in it comes in. Never heard anything back from the plastic surgeon on the last CT scan/visit, being he was stuck in surgery not sure if he has caught up with his appt list as of yet or reviewed it yet. I will admit my vision is getting a lot better, and although it hurts, I do have a lot more sensation

Finally demobilization is complete and I'm back home! Now back to the job that I love and picking up on all the ways that my daughter has changed in the year I've been gone. Okay all I am back but not getting my hopes up just yet. I got a couple of side jobs a couple o weeks ago that netted me about a grand. It was enough to get caught up on the bills and the laptop. I still havent found anything permanent yet though. Heck I have filled out so many applications and uploaded my resume to so many places it's unbelievable. As many of you know, I've been spending alot of my time with my grandmother who has alzheimer's and is rapidly slipping away. The last 2 weeks, she has gone downhill very quickly, and we're trying to find a solution to all of this that will work for her. She can't be left alone anymore due to her confusion, and, we can't get her into a home right now. My mom is up from Mississippi to stay with her until the end of the week, and then I will be going there with my kids to stay as well when my husband starts his work cycle again. This whole situation has been very rough!!! I was raised by my grandparents, and I owe my life to them. Grandpa passed away in 2005, and now, seeing this happen to my grandma is horrible. I just feel helpless! I know that many people have it alot worse than I do, but it's just tough to see somebody you love slip away in front of your eyes. 2 Small Eggplants; unpeeled cut into 1/4−inch rounds 2 Eggs; lightly beaten 1−1/2 Cup Bread crumbs 1/2 Teaspoon Salt 1/8 Teaspoon Pepper 1 Garlic cloves peeled and halved 3/4 Cup Olive oil 20 Ounce Tomatoes, canned 1/3 Cup Tomato paste 2 Tablespoon Minced basil 1 Teaspoon Salt 1/8 Teaspoon Pepper 1 Cup Grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 Pound Mozzarella cheese; thinly sliced Dip eggplant slices in eggs, then in bread crumbs seasoned with salt and pepper. Refrigerate 20 minutes. In a large saucepan, saute garlic in 2 tablespoons oil for 1−2 minutes. Remove garlic and add tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350F. Brown eggplant in 1/4−inch oil in a large skillet. Drain on paper towels. Put a thin layer of tomato sauce into a baking dish and layer eggplant, sauce, Parmesan and mozzarella, alternately. End with mozzarella on top. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
