Nothing keeps a relationship on its toes so much as lively debate. Fortunate, then, that my girlfriend and I agree on absolutely nothing. At all. Combine utter, polar disagreement on everything, ever, with the fact that I am a text-book Only Child, and she is a violent psychopath, and we're warming up. Then factor in my being English while she is German, which not only makes each one of us personally and absolutely responsible for the history, and the social and cultural mores of our respective countries, but also opens up a whole field of sub-arguments grounded in grammatical and semantic disputes and, well, just try saying anything and walking away. Examples? Okey-dokey. We have argued about:
MargaritaToday, I was babysitting. The kids were thirsty, so I poured them both a cup of the green juice I'd found in a jug in their fridge. They downed it in a flash. It wasn't until later on after I'd poured myself a cup and taken a sip, I realized I had given them margarita mix. The kids are 4 and 2. FML

Marine In CombatDedicated to my Brothers~Semper Fidelis
My boots are rough and dirty yet tightly tied they are,
I push my right foot forward and hope no bomb is near my arch.
Tattered, worn, and salty my jungle cammies are,
The shirt is torn and open, my sweat soaked tee exposed.
Hot and heavy the steel pot feels as it guards my head today.
I put my faith in thee please, God, keep me safe I pray.
On my neck my dog tags hang swinging silently
A hand will take them from my neck when and if I die.
Before my death my blood type they will see.
Should the Corpsman call The Padre, Pastor, or the Rabbi?
From this metal he will know.
My mind is tired, so exhausted, I am full of energy.
My right arm is bending at the elbow,
Firmly holding my M-16 against my upper arm
Its muzzle is aimed upwards at the canopies of trees
Smell the gunpowder, the oil, the death
Around my shoulder, my neck, an arm holds on
I feel his sweat, and smell his blood.
MarinesTwo Arabs boarded a flight out of London. One took a window seat and the other sat next to him in the middle seat. Just before takeoff, a Marine sat down in the aisle seat. After takeoff, the Marine kicked his shoes off, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the Arab in the window seat said, "I need to get up and get a coke."
"Don't get up," said the Marine, "I'm in the aisle seat, I'll get it for you."
As soon as he left, one of the Arabs picked up the Marine's shoe and
spat in it. When the Marine returned with the coke, the other Arab said,
"That looks good, I'd really like one, too." Again, the Marine obligingly went to fetch it. While he was gone the other Arab picked up the Marine's other shoe and spat in it.
When the Marine returned, they all sat back and enjoyed the flight.
As the plane was landing, the Marine slipped his feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened. "Why does it have to be this way?" he asked. "How long must this go on?

Marinewhat a marine is... Marine come in all shapes, shades, weights, sizes, and states of sobriety, misery, and confusion. He is sly as a fox, has the nerve of a dope addict, the stories of an old sailor, the sincerity of a politician, and the subtly of Mt. Saint Helen. He is extremely irresistible, totally irrational and completely indestructible. A Marine is a Marine all his life. He is a magical creature. You can kick him out of your house but not out of your heart. You can take him off your mailing list but not off your mind. Marines are found everywhere... in love...in battle... in lust... in trouble...in debt...in bars and ... behind them. No one can write so seldom and yet think so much of you. No one else can get so much enjoyment out of a letter or clean clothes or a six pack. A Marine is a genius with a deck of cards. A millionaire without a cent and brave without a grain of sense. He is the protector of America, with the latest copy of playboy in his back pocket. When he wants so
Marine's Girlfriend Details "amazing" PlotA Marine accused of staging his disappearance to avoid returning to duty had invented an "amazing plan" to be presumed dead so he could collect insurance money through his brother, his girlfriend said.
Lance Cpl. Lance Hering, 21, has been missing since Aug. 30 when he and a friend fabricated a story about Hering falling while they were hiking in Eldorado Canyon State Park, sheriff's officials have said. Hering was missing when the friend came back with help.
Hering was on leave from Iraq when he disappeared. He was due back at Camp Pendleton, Calif., on Sept. 18.
According to a search warrant released Thursday, Hering's girlfriend, Kaley Sutton, told authorities he had talked about disappearing. She said he had come up with a "great idea, an amazing plan" about a year ago and intended to tell only her and his brother, Air Force Lt. Brendan Hering, about it.
Sutton said Lance Hering intended to fake his death and assume a new identity in another country using insurance mone
MarineI saw him alone, amidst the smoke and beers,
With others around giving insults and jeers.
His hair was trimmed, a nice high and tight,
And a look about him, just something not right.
His face was shaved, his eyes were sad,
He kept his calm, though the shouting was bad.
Threats were made, and taunts were cast,
I didn't know how his temper could last.
After an hour, he finally stood,
I knew he could fight, I was sure that he would.
His eyes had grown soft, his face was turned down,
And his body relaxed as he looked around.
"Why do you hate me, just what have I done?
Why make me fight, or force me to run?
Do I look like I'm weak? Is that what you think?
Is that the reason why you push to the brink?
Just tell me the truth, what is it you hate?
Just why do you taunt me, why make this mistake?"
One man stood up with a malicious grin,
And waved to the crowed, this fight he would win.

Marines Vs Air ForceA Marine gets out of the Corps after Nam and lives his life like the American dream. When the War on Iraq comes around 40 plus years later, he goes down to the local recruiting station, and tells the recruiter, "I want in, I wanna fight." But the recruiter says, "Sorry man, you're too old."
"Fine," the guy says. "I'll go to the Pentagon. I have a friend there.
He'll let me in!" So he goes to the Pentagon and tells his friend, "I want in, I wanna fight." But his friend says, "Sorry Buddy, you're too old."
"Fine," the guy says. "I'll buy a boat and row to Iraq!" So he goes out and buys himself a rowboat and starts rowing to Iraq, chanting "Semper Fi, Do or Die, OO-Rah, OO-Rah!" over and over again.
St. Peter sees all this and goes to God and says, "Lord, what do I do to stop this clown?" God tells St. Peter, "Why don't you take his brain? It's the root of all thought." So St. Peter takes the guy's brain. It doesn't faze him. "Semper Fi, Do or Die, OO-Rah, OO-Rah!" St. Peter t

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting."
It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold.
The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence.

A Marine Mother's LoveBecause I am your mother and I love you,
I have endured the last 13 weeks of your being away from your family,
Often facing each day, with tears streaming down my cheeks.
Because I am your mother and I love you,
I found the strength to sign the papers and let you go
because I knew it was what you wanted and you needed to grow.
Because I am your mother and I love you,
I somehow found a way to make it through those long weeks,
praying and counting each and every day.
Because I am your mother and I love you,
I hold you very close in my heart,
Reminding myself daily, of why we are apart
and your ambition to succeed as a United States Marine,
Because I am your mother and I love you,
I have faithfully stood by your side.
My heart soared when I saw you standing so straight and tall,
and I was filled with overwhelming pride.
Because I love you so much,
I willingly face this time in your life when you are
spreading your wings with love and understanding.

Marine By God!!!The USMC is over 225 years of romping, stomping, hell, death and destruction. The finest fighting machine the world has ever seen. We were born in a bomb crater, our mother was an M-16 and our father was the devil.
Each moment that I live is an additional threat upon your life. I am a rough looking, roving soldier of the sea. I am cocky, self-centered, overbearing, and I do not know the meaning of fear, for I am fear itself. I am a green, amphibious monster made of blood and guts who arose from the sea, festering on anti-Americans throughout the globe. Whenever it may arise, and when my time comes, I will die a glorious death on the battle field, giving my life to Mom, the Corps, and the American flag.
We stole the eagle from the Air Force, the anchor from the Navy, and the rope from the Army. On the 7th day, while God rested, we overran his perimeter and stole the globe, and we've been running the show ever since. We live like soldiers and talk like sailors and slap the hell out of
Marital SexThe three stages of marital sex are as follows:
Stage 1, House Sex: Upon first being married, the newlyweds engage in sex all over the house; living room, kitchen, shower, etc.
Stage 2, Bedroom Sex: After the "honeymoon phase" wears off, sex is only found in the bedroom.
Stage 3, Hallway Sex: Being married for so long, the only sex you get is passing each other in the hall and saying, "Fuck you".

The USMC's Girlfriend Creed
I am a Marine Girlfriend.
In other words, I have gone through the LDL class of San Diego or Parris Island basic training. I have attempted and completed the Long-Distance Learning sector of Marine Corps boot camp, graduating from Platoon GF, right along with my Devil Dog in his own platoon. I am proud to have earned the title of United States Marine Girlfriend. Along with my Leatherneck, I have suffered, been broke down, and been rebuilt and designed as an entirely new person. I have unleashed a new patriotism to my country and my Corps. Yes, I belong to the Corps because I am committed to my Marine, and he is committed to the Corps. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. The Corps is his life and I am his spirit. I have learned the hard way, as he has learned also. Wherever the USMC takes him, I will follow, whether it be in presence or in thought. I will learn as much as possible about the Corps, because this is my duty. And

MarinesAsk a Marine what's so special about the Marines and the answer would be "esprit de corps", an unhelpful French phrase that means exactly what it looks like - the spirit of the Corps, but what is that spirit, and where does it come from?
The Marine Corps is the only branch of the U.S. Armed Forces that recruits people specifically to Fight. The Army emphasizes personal development (an Army of One), the Navy promises fun (let the journey begin), the Air Force offers security (its a great way of life). Missing from all the advertisements is the hard fact that a soldier's lot is to suffer and perhaps to die for his people, and take lives at the risk of his/her own.
Even the thematic music of the services reflects this evasion. The Army's Caisson Song describes a pleasant country outing. Over hill and dale, lacking only a picnic basket. Anchors Aweigh, the Navy's celebration of the joys of sailing, could have been penned by Jimmy Buffet. The Air Force song is a lyric poem of blue ski

Yesterday John Kerry said, "You know education, if you make the most of
it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be
smart, you can do well, and if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq"
So I wrote him a letter:

A Marines Christmas"THE SOLDIERS NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS"
“Merry Christmas, My Friend” by LCpl James M Schmidt, USMC, 1986
Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
In a one bedroom house made of plaster & stone.
I had come down the chimney, with presents to give
and to see just who in this home did live
As I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
no tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand.
On the wall hung pictures of a far distant land.
With medals and badges, awards of all kind,
a sobering thought soon came to my mind.
For this house was different, unlike any I'd seen.
This was the home of a U.S. Marine.
I'd heard stories about them, I had to see more,
so I walked down the hall and pushed open the door.
And there he lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor in his one-bedroom home.
He seemed so gentle, his face so serene,

Please dont be afraid,
There are some things I must do,
To keep the promises I made.
Im sure there will be some heartache,
And I know that you'll cry tears,
But your son is a Marine now; Mom,
There is nothing you should fear.
If I ever go to war Dad,
I know that you'll be strong,
But you wont have to worry,
Cause you taught me right from wrong.
You kept me firmly on the ground,
Yet still taught me how to fly,

So may you never have to cry.

Though we may not meet again,
Ill hold you in my heart.

Seattle -- Washington is among the top five pot-producing states, producing a $1 billion-a-year crop that is second in value only to the state's famed apple harvest, according to an analysis released this week by a public-policy researcher.
Jon Gettman, the Virginia-based researcher who wrote the report, used government data to show that marijuana has become the biggest cash crop in the United States, bringing in more annually than corn and wheat combined.
It's among the top three cash crops in 30 states, Gettman said. He said Washington is the nation's fifth-largest producer, behind California, Tennessee, Kentucky and Hawaii.
Nationally, domestic marijuana production has increased 10 times over in the past 25 years, from 1,000 metric tons in 1981 to 10,000 metric tons in 2006, according to federal g

Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here,
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,

Anchors Dan Rather and Peter Jennings, NPR Reporter Cokie Roberts, along with a U.S. Marine assigned to protect them were hiking through the Iraq desert one day when they were captured by Iraqis. They were tied up, led to a village, and brought before the leader.
The leader said, "I am familiar with your western custom of granting the condemned a last wish; so, before we kill and dismember you, do you have any last requests?"
Dan Rather said, "Well, I'm a Texan; so I'd like one last bowlful of hot spicy chili." The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chili. Rather ate it all and said, "Now I can die content."
Peter Jennings said, "I am Canadian, so I'd like to hear the song 'O Canada' one last time." The leader nodded to a terrorist who had studied the Western world and knew the music. He returned with some rag-tag musicians and played the anthem. Jennings sighed and declared he could now die peacefully.
A Marine Goes Into A Dunkin DonutsTo my cherry friends and family...I received this email today and I thought it was worth passing this around. Very upsetting...I do not have a problem with any type of person who can come into this great country and make a new life. I hate to use the term foreigner. This country helps foreigners to start there own businesses. I used to live in NJ and many Dunkin Donuts are own by foreigners. As do the rest of America I am sure. I do not have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with if they do support Al Quada or have employee that support Al Quada. I realized that you cannot control your employee thought and feels or views, but those employees feel the need to express his or her views to the customer, then that employee should be fired. I know this country as freedom of speech and I am using it myself right now. For anyone living in this country that supports Al Quada in anyway, shape or form then you needs to get the HELL out of this county.

A U.S. Marine squad was marching north of Fallujiah when they came upon an Iraqi terrorist, badly injured and unconscious. On the opposite side of the road was an American Marine in a similar but less serious state. The Marine was conscious and alert and as first aid was given to both men, the squad leader asked the injured Marine what had happened.
The Marine reported, "I was moving north along the highway here, and coming south was this heavily armed insurgent. We saw each other and we
both took cover in the ditches along the road.
"I yelled to him that Saddam Hussein was a miserable, low life scum bag, and he yelled back that Ted Kennedy is a good-for-nothing, fat, left

"So I said that Osama Bin Ladin dresses and acts like a frigid, mean-spirited lesbian! He retaliated by yelling, 'Oh yeah? Well, so does Hillary Clinton!' And, there we were, in the middle of the road, shaking hands, when a truck hi

Marine Mail Call(received from Shrinky)
During mail call one evening at Marine Corps boot camp, I received several letters from home.
The drill instructor was getting irritated at having to keep calling my name. "You must have a lot of people at home who like you, huh?" he barked.
"Sir, no, sir!" I shouted.
"Oh, so you're calling me a liar?" goaded the DI.
Trained as a Marine to think quickly on my feet, I yelled out, "Sir, creditors, sir!"
The DI had to leave the room so we wouldn't see him laughing.

So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL REINWALD:
We're going to teach them climbing, cano eing, archery, and shooting.

GENERAL REINWALD:

Marine Lance Cpl. Steven Eastburn from the Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe, Hawaii, was on his way home to be with his family during his recovery. One of his stops along the way was at the David Grant USAF Medical Center 's Aeromedical Staging Facility.
Unbeknownst to him, at the same time he was awaiting his flight, Gen. Peter Pace, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, was landing at Travis for a quick "gas and go" en route to Hawaii . When General Pace learned a fellow Marine was on his way home after being injured in Iraq , he didn't hesitate.
"When I greeted General Pace and Mrs. Pace on the flight line one of the things I mentioned was that we currently had a Marine that was wounded in Iraq waiting transportation in our aeromedical staging facility," said Col Steve Arquiette, 60th Ai

Marinated Chicken BreastsMarinated Chicken Breasts
Welcome the new season with this quick and easy chicken entree. If the first day of spring is particularly balmy, you might even break out the grill! If not, just use the broiler or an indoor grill.
Servings: 8
Ingredients:
* 1/2 cup broth
* 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
* 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
* 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
* 1/2 minced garlic cloves or 1 to 2 teaspoons garlic powder
* 2 teaspoons sugar
* 1 teaspoon crushed thyme
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* Salt to taste
* 2 pounds chicken breasts, boned and skinned (8 halves)
Directions:
Place all of the ingredients except the chicken breasts in a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake well. Rinse the chicken breasts and pat dry with paper towels. Place the chicken and marinade in a locking plastic bag, making sure the chicken is coated well (using a bag saves on cleanup, but a shallow dish works just as well). Marinate the chic
Marital Sex...A mother had 3 daughters.
They were all getting married within a short time period. The mother was a bit worried on how they were going to cope with sex.. as thet never had it before... So, she made them all promise to send her a postcard with a few words on how marital sex felt.
The first girl sent a card from Hawaii two days after the wedding. The card said nothing but: "Nescafe"!
Mum was puzzled at first, but then went to her kitchen and got out the Nescafe jar. It said.. Good till the last drop.
Mum blushed, but was pleased for her daughter.
The second girl sent the card from Vermont a week after the wedding, and the card read: "Rothmans"
Mum now knew to go straight to her husband's cigarettes, and she read from the pack: "Extra Long. King Size"
She was again slightly embarrassed but still happy for her daughter.
The third girl left for her honeymoon in Cape Town. Mum waited for a week, nothing. Another week went by and still nothing. Then after a w

Marine Mother.....Marine Mother
Body: I remember well the day you were born;
It was fall, leaves pretty, it was warm.
I was filled with fear, and apprehension;
But when you arrived no one had to mention
That you would one day draw much attention
For all the good and mighty deeds you've done,
All the personal battles fought and won.
You will NEVER know my pride for you, my son!
While you ventured through the jungle of life,
Facing it's many joys and it's strife's,
I soon realized there was nothing to fear,
For God's greatest blessings are yours through the years.
The only thing wasted have been all my tears;
Having watched you grow up into a man full of pride.
For now those huge footsteps you take with such stride
Are the steps of a man with that child inside.
I still envision him in your voice when you speak,
In the laughter, the smile, the way your mouth tweaks.
There's that childish sparkle behind those bright eyes
And the way we both look at the same bright
The MarineMarines come in all shapes, shades, weights, sizes, and states of sobriety, misery, and confusion.
A millionaire - without a cent - and brave, without a grain of sense. He is the PROTECTOR OF AMERICA, with the latest copy of Playboy in his back pocket. When he wants something
MarionetteYou may have manipulated me day to day
The time has come because with this puppet you'd no longer play
That grip on the strings which you held on to so tight
Was the only way to keep me moving and standing upright.
You became a puppeteer - who never realized that within
How love had touched deep and made me living
Blinded by malice, never guessed deep inside
A heart resided - faintly beating and becoming alive
Blank glass eyes staring out - hiding all I knew
Thoughts that were sparked and finally grew
With you pulling the strings, I felt so weak
I'd cut those stringsone day and my freedom seek
Making me dance was fun for applause
Never realizing the pain and tormnet it caused
Under your power for so long, I became your toy - your pawn
But with no strings attached anymore,
I took my bow and now I'm so gone.

THE MARINE
We all came together,
Both young and old
To fight for our freedom,
To stand and be bold.
In the midst of all evil,
We stand our ground,
And we protect our country
From all terror around.
Peace and not war,
Is what some people say.
But I'll give my life,
So you can live the American way.
I give you the right
To talk of your peace.
To stand in your groups,
and protest in our streets.
But still I fight on,
I don't bitch, I don't whine.
I'm just one of the people
Who is doing your time.
I'm harder than nails,
Stronger than any machine.
I'm the immortal soldier,
I'm a U.S. MARINE!
So stand in my shoes,
And leave from your home.

Oh, to have a man feel like this about ya...
Chris Cagle - Maria Lyrics
I’m exhausted, trying to catch my breath the morning’ after
I hold my coffee with shaking hands and my world in disarray
Lost by the softness and the strength that’s in her hands
I see her face and I can barely stand
But oh the sweet redemption every time she mentions that she wants me
Oh, that she needs me
Chorus:
Oh Maria your kisses knock me over
Make me drunk then leave me sober
They let me know that I’m a man
Maria, your touch it almost kills me
Then it turns around and heals me
I get lost and found again
In the arms of a woman that a mother gave the name, Maria
Tender power
The gift she gives me gets me through the day
Midnight hour
I reach across the bed where she lay
Then I look up and see the moon dance on her skin
My heart starts poun

Marijuana May Fight Lung Tumors

Cannabis may be bad for the lungs, but the active ingredient in marijuana may help combat lung cancer, new research suggests.
In lab and mouse studies, the compound, known as THC, cut lung tumor growth in half and helped prevent the cancer from spreading, says Anju Preet, PhD, a Harvard University researcher in Boston who tested the chemical.
While a lot more work needs to be done, "the results suggest THC has therapeutic potential," she tells WebMD.
Moreover, other early research suggests the cannabis compound could help fight brain, prostate, and skin cancers as well, Preet says.
The findings were presented at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research.
The finding builds on the recent discovery of the body's own cannabinoid system, Preet says. Known as endocannabinoids, the natural

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside. "Your son is here," she said
to the old man. She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened.
Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young
uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine
wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love
and encouragement.
The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through
the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's
hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested
that the Marine move away and rest awhile.
He refused. Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of
her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of
Marines Bar 17-year-olds From CombatMarines Bar 17-Year-Olds from Combat
Military.com | Kelly Johnson | May 03, 2007
In an effort to rebut accusations of child soldiering within the U.S. military, the Marine Corps recently revised a policy regarding the deployment of Marines younger than 18 years of age to combat zones.
The newly updated policy prohibits 17-year-old servicemembers from being operationally deployed, which includes rotations to Iraq and Afghanistan. The revised policy does not apply to 17-year-old Marines who deploy for individual unit training or for exercises to non-combat areas.
According to the message, offically delineated as "MarAdmin 272/07": "The [child soldier protocol] states parties shall take all feasible measures to ensure that members of the their armed forces who have not attained the age of 18 years do not take a direct part in hostilities."
The directive outlines rules against assigning a 17-year-old Marine to a unit scheduled to operationally deploy prior to his or her 18th bir

Marijuana Is A Heluva DrugAnd thanks to a chain of historical events, it is illegal for most people to smoke it in this country. Unlike alcohol and nicotine. While I would never advise anyone to start drinking or smoking tobacco to deal with their anxiety (that's arguably the worst time to pick up an addictive habit), maybe Ricky Williams should try something less potent and more legal than weed if he ever wants to make it back to the NFL. Chocolate, maybe? Or coffee?
Really, this is a sad situation for Williams, who I heard on the radio only a month ago saying all the right things about staying sober, and then - just as he was about to enter back into the fray - has fallen back into "self-medication."
This is also sad because it effectively demonizes marijuana in a very public way. A pitcher kills himself in a car wreck due to the effect of alcohol on his system? Well, hell. He should just drink less and call a cab. Ricky Williams can't stay off the weed? See, marijuana ruins lives!

A new study in the journal Neurology is being hailed as unassailable proof that marijuana is a valuable medicine. It is a sad commentary on the state of modern medicine -- and US drug policy -- that we still need "proof" of something that medicine has known for 5,000 years.
The study, from the University of California at San Francisco, found smoked marijuana to be effective at relieving the extreme pain of a debilitating condition known as peripheral neuropathy. It was a study of HIV patients, but a similar type of pain caused by damage to nerves afflicts people with many other illnesses including diabetes and multiple sclerosis. Neuropathic pain is notoriously resistant to treatment with conventional pain drugs. Even powerful and addictive narcotics like morphine and OxyContin often provide little relief. This study leaves

1/3 water
1/3 teriyaki marinade

Pour marinade over fish and let stand for half the time you are marinating, then turn over the fish and marinate the other side for the balance of the time. He lived with ants and rodents, begged for spare change and spent it on as much Natural Ice as he could get.

You might want to save this recipe for the weekend and make Dad a steak that's so wonderful he'll never suspect how quick and easy it was! Just warm some rolls or bread -- on the grill for extra flavor -- and toss a green salad, and dinner's ready.
Servings: 2
Ingredients:
* 1/8 cup soy sauce
* 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
* 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary leaves
* 3/4 pound skirt steak
Directions:
Mix the soy sauce, Worcestershire, ginger and rosemary in a nonmetallic bowl. Place the steak in an airtight plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
Grill or broil the steak until cooked to the desired doneness, approximately five to seven minutes per side for medium.
Notes: Leftover skirt steak can be eaten with sauteed onions and peppers on a Portuguese roll or Italian bread or in a flour tortilla. For a tortilla, be sure to cut the steak into strips.

Marince Shows Up Army Dude Who Killed The BobcatEx-Marine kills marauding black bear with single blow

HELEN, Ga. -- A 300-pound black bear raided a family's campsite, and the father saved his sons from harm by throwing a log at the beast, killing it with a single blow.
Chris Everhart and his three sons were camping in the Chattahoochee National Forest in northern Georgia when the encounter happened Saturday. The bear took the family's cooler and was heading back to the woods when the youngest son, 6-year-old Logan, hurled a shovel at it.
The bear then dropped the cooler and started coming at the boy, said his father. Fearing what might happen next, Everhart, an ex-Marine, grabbed the closest thing he could find _ a log from their stash of firewood.
``(I) threw it at it and it happened to hit the bear in the head,'' Everhart said. ``I thought it just knocked it out but it actually ended up killing the bear.''
Everhart was given a ticket for failing to secure his camp si

A Marine's Responsibility To Our Fallen Never EndsOklahoma City, April 1995
Two United States Marines were among the 68 people killed by the terrorist bomb that destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency deployed teams of firemen and police officers from New York City to help search the rubble for survivors and recover the dead. Several of these volunteers were Marine Reservists or former Marines (there are no "ex-Marines").
Police officer Michael Curtain, a Marine first sergeant in the Reserves, discovered a body pinned in the wreckage wearing the blue trousers with distinctive "blood stripe" of a Marine. He knew he had found the missing remains of Captain Randolph Guzman, executive officer of the recruiting station.
Curtain asked permission to retrieve Captain Guzman's body--dangerous, laborious work. He found three other former Marines to lend a hand.
Manny Hernandez, another police officer, said, "It was something I had to do. I had a squad in Nam, and whenever we lost
Marilyn Manson "if I Was Your Vampire" Lyrics6am Christmas morning
No shadows
No reflections here
Lying cheek to cheek
In your cold embrace
So soft and so tragic
As a slaughterhouse
You press the knife against your heart
And say that
‘I love you so much you must kill me now’
If I was your vampire
Certain as the moon
Instead of killing time
We’ll have each other
Until the sun
If I was your vampire
Death waits for no one
Hold my hands across your face
Because I think
Our time has come
Digging your smile apart
With my spade-tongue
The hole is where the heart is
We built this tomb together
And I won’t fill it alone
Beyond the pale
Everything is black
No turning back
If I was your vampire
Certain as the moon
Instead of killing time
We’ll have each other
Until the sun
If I was your vampire
Death waits for no one
Hold my hands across your face
Because I think
Our time has come
Blood-stained sheets
In the shape of your heart
This is where it starts
This is where it will end
Here comes
A Marine That Threatens Un-armed CiviliansOK, if this is the way the military is representing our great nation, I am both ashamed and appalled to think about this.
I was driving home from worth the other day when a lovely gentleman in the "marines" to quote him, followed me home and threatened me and proceeded to spit on me.
According the cops its a simple case of road rage, cus I have no idea what set this man off, and its blownin my mind to think that any of our military would treat anyone, any civilian such as this man did.
I was driving home..... Was goin up a hill into castle rock, and where I live. Now going up the hill it is too lanes and says KEEP RIGHT except to pass. (Which most people now days dont get this, but thats another subject.)
So this guy is either
A. Very stupid
B. Extremely stupid.
C. Blind and needs glasses.
D. Rude and doesn't care.
E. ALL of the above.
Now from my experience with people. (E) is most likely. But (A) and (B) are really catching my attention.
I have a CDL and due to this

Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting." It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold.

You kept me firmly on the ground, yet still taught me how to fly.

When I was stationed in Camp Pendleton (83), we had a wet down at the beach club. A fine wet down it was! When it was over, I got in my vehicle and headed out the Onofre Gate and headed towards Oceanside on the highway. For those who never been there, the drive from Onofre Gate and Oceanside is quite a distance and is nothing but highway. The only exit in between the two is the Pulgas Gate. While I was driving, I realized I should not have been. I pulled off the hwy and proceeded to the Pulgas Gate. My plan was this, park before the gate, walk up to the gate guard, and call my Gunny to get me. (That is general order #14...call the Gunny when in need). So I park, walk up to the guard and reques

A Marine PoemI would like to dedicate this poem to My Brother Chris who is getting deployed to Iraq Soon.
'Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone
in a one bedroom house made of plaster and stone.
I had come down the chimney with presents to give
And to see just who in this home did live.
I looked all about. A strange sight I did see
No Tinsel. No presents. Not even a tree.
No stocking by the chimney, just boots filled with sand.
On the wall hung pictures of a far distant land.
With medals and badges, awards of all kinds,
A sober thought soon came to my mind.
He seemed so gentle, his face so serene,
Not how I pictured a U.S. Marine.
Was this the hero, of whom I’d just read?

Marines Roll Into IraqThe 3rd Squadron of the 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment, lead element of the 3rd Infantry Division, rolled from Kuwait into southern Iraq early Friday, according to a CNN reporter accompanying the troops.
The Americans encountered hostile Iraqi army troops as they crossed the border, but using advanced night vision equipment they overcame the resistance, destroying six or seven Iraqi trucks and an undisclosed number of tanks.
A group of Kiowa scout helicopters, flying no more than 50 feet above the ground, led a convoy of Bradley fighting vehicles and M1A1 Abrams tanks. The Bradley vehicles moved at times in a single column and at times abreast.
Earlier, when halted in Kuwait close to the Iraqi border, a single shell fell near the U.S. forces. The shell affected no part of the convoy, which then began moving quickly north.

Soldier faces life for killing civilian after fruitless efforts to find insurgent

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - A Marine Corps squad leader was convicted Thursday of murdering an Iraqi man during a frustrated search for an insurgent.
Sgt. Lawrence G. Hutchins III, 23, also was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, making a false official statement and larceny. He was acquitted of kidnapping, assault and housebreaking.
Hutchins, of Plymouth, Mass., could be sentenced to life in prison without parole. He had been charged with premeditated murder but the military jury struck the premeditation element from the verdict.
Hutchins stood rigidly and stared straight ahead in the silent courtroom as the verdict was read. A few minutes later he answered a procedural question with a loud and clear, "Yes, sir."
Prosecutors said that during a nighttime patrol in Hamdania, Iraq, in April 2006, Hutchins' s

Warning: Smoking pot is illegal in the united states. Marijuana is chemically not addictive, but canbe psychologically addicting. Do not smoke pot when you are working with dangerous equipment. When smoked, pot lasts about 4-5 hours. However, it is detectable in the blood stream for 14-30 days. Marijuana is about 5 times as harsh as cigarette tobacco on your lungs. On the other hand, not many people I know smoke a pack of pot everyday. Enjoy the T-file!!
I recently realized that there aren\'t any good files out here on smoking Ganja, so I decided to write this. Enjoy.

I hope you don\'t need instructions on how to roll a joint. I personally don\'t use them very often, unless I\'m in a very casual place and have a lot of shake on me. They are very wasteful, but there\'s nothing like smoking a joint while listening to Bob Marley. If your not a skilled roller, you can pick up automatic rollers at your local to

When I said I didn't love you so
I should have held on tight
I never should've let you go
I did nothing
I was stupid
I was foolish
I was lying to myself
I could not fathom that I would ever
Be without your love
Never imagined I'd be
Sitting here beside myself
I didn't know you
I didn't know me
But I thought I knew everything
I never felt
The feeling that I'm feeling now
Now that I don't
Hear your voice
Or even touch or even kiss your lips
Cause I don't have a choice
What I wouldn't give
To have you lying by my side

When you left
I lost a part of me
It's still so hard to believe
Come back baby please

"Nick is currently at the hospital with John and his family," his mother, Linda Hogan, said in a statement Monday. "His sole concern is for the well-being of his friend."

The Marine Corp's Early Retirement BonusThe Marine Corps found they had too many officers and senior enlisted men. It was decided to offer an early retirement bonus. They promised any officer or senior enlisted man who volunteered for retirement a bonus of $1,000 for every inch measured in a straight line between any two points in his body. Those applying got to choose what those two points would be.
The first officer who accepted asked that he be measured from the top of his head to the tip of his toes. He was measured at six feet and walked out with a bonus of $72,000.
The second officer who accepted was a little smarter and asked to be measured from the tip of his outstretched hands to his toes. He walked out with $96,000.
The third one was a non-commissioned officer, a grizzly old Sergeant Major who, when asked where he would like to be measured replied, "From the tip of my weenie to my testicles."
It was suggested by the pension man that he might want to reconsider, explaining about the nice big checks t

Yes, Mario from Super Mario Brothers. I mean, someone calls you into a simple plumbing job and you get sucked into a world where you have to rescue a princess who has the nasty habit of being constantly kidnapped!
After many mind numbing levels(Whos toilet has levels?! SERIOUSLY!) you fight a giant turtle! This is really a lesson that people should take better care of turtles. Either they kidnap women, or learn ninjitsu from a mutant rat, either way its bad.
But after all the smoke has cleared, what the hell does he have to tell the owners of the house? "I was transported to a magical land and saved a princess"? First off, considering what plumbers charge, that fee would be astronomical. Second, what kind of questions does this raise about the dietary habits of the home owners?!

Marine And Tampons (a Must Read)Marine and Tampons (awesome story)
A friend of mine sent this to me.
Tampons to the rescue in Iraq!! Don't worry, it's a good story, and worth reading. It's even humorous in parts. It's from the mother of a Marine in Iraq.
My son told me how wonderful the care packages we had sent them were and wanted me to tell everyone thank you. He said that one guy we'll call Marine X, got a girl care package and everyone was giving him a hard time.
My son s aid, "Marine X got some really nice smelling lotion and everyone really likes it, so every time he goes to sleep they steal it from him." I told my son I was really sorry about the mistake, and if he wanted I would send Marine X another package. He told me not to worry about Marine X because every time I send something to him, Marine X thinks it's for him too.
He said when my husband and I sent the last care package, Marine X came over to his cot picked up the box, started fishing through it, and said, "What'd we get this time

A Marines Fight- From Baldie7s StashFRIENDS ARE BORN, NOT MADE
This is a poem being sent from a Marine to his Dad.
For those who take the time to read it,
you'll see a letter from him to his Dad at the bottom.
It makes you truly thankful
for not only the Marines,
but ALL of our troops.
THE MARINE
We all came together,
Both young and old
To fight for our freedom,
To stand and be bold.
In the midst of all evil,
We stand our ground,
And we protect our country
From all terror around.
Peace and not war,
Is what some people say.
But I'll give my life,
So you can live the American way.
I give you the right
To talk of your peace.
To stand in your groups,
and protest in our streets.
But still I fight on,
I don't bitch, I don't whine.
I'm just one of the people
Who is doing your time.
I'm harder than nails,
Stronger than any machine.
I'm the immortal soldier,
I'm a U.S. MARINE!
So stand in my shoes,
And leave from your home.
Fight for the people who hate you,

"Did they chop your firewood?"
"Yep!"

~marines Denied Permission To Film Commercial ~Marines Denied Permission To Film Commercial
On The Streets Of San Francisco
KGO By Dan Noyes
SAN FRANCISCO, Sep. 24, 2007 (KGO) - New York said "yes," but we said "no." Why were the U.S. Marines denied permission to film a recruiting commercial on the streets of San Francisco?
San Francisco is, once again, the center of a controversy over how city leaders treat the U.S. military. This time, it involves an elite group of Marines who wanted to film a recruitment commercial in San Francisco on the anniversary of 9/11.
The tension has been building in the two weeks since the city turned away members of the Silent Drill Platoon, and it boiled over Monday afternoon at a meeting of the San Francisco Film Commission.
The U.S. Marine Silent Drill Platoon performed Monday morning in New York's Times Square. They filmed part of a recruitment commercial through the start of the morning rush hour -- something they could not do in San Francisco on the anniversary of 9/11.

A Marines ChristmasA Marine's Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
In a one bedroom house made of plaster and stone.
I had come down the chimney with presents to give, And had to see just who in this home did live.
I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, No Presents, Not even a tree.
No stocking by the mantle, just boots full of sand. On the wall hung pictures, of a distant land.
With Medals and Badges, Awards of all kinds, A sober thought, came to mind.
For this house was different, it was dark and dreary, I found the home of a Marine, Once I could see clearly.
The Marine lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor, In his one bedroom home.
The face was so gentle, The room in such disorder,
Not how I pictured, A Marine.
Was this the hero of whom I'd just read?
Curled up on a poncho, The floor for a bed?
I realized the families that I saw this night,
Owed their lives to these Marines, Who where willing to fight.

The Marine That Lives Inside MeFrom the Day of the Yellow Footprints to the day they fold my flag over my pine box, something inside me was awakened and guided and shaped in ways I cannot truly explain. Some have asked me over the years, or accused me, of having been 'brainwashed' by the Marine Corps. I think brainwashing wears off in time, it's a thin veneer on character that ultimately does not belong and is shed. Instead, I think of it more as the Corps having found something in me, something I always had, and given me possession of a part of myself that most others never even know to look for inside themselves. It is the Marine that lives inside of me.
The Corps knew where to look. For over 200 years, they have been digging that building block, that cornerstone, out of reluctant recruits, forcing them to confront that part of themselves that is a protector, a true warrior, a human description of the words 'always faithful'. It is found by tearing down the body and attacking the mental defenses we build around
MarieMarie fell asleep that night..she was tired from working hard at the office downtown, she had just stepped from the shower and dried off carefully and walked into her bedroom and turned the tv on to watch a movie she wanted to see on the cable network. she slipped on he night gown which was a small teddy like out fit and just white panties underneath. she crawled into the bed where Steve her boyfriend was, sound asleep, he too was quite tired from a hard day at the Bike shop, he had to work alone in the design room for the engines of the bike he was working on. he tossed and turned and finally rolled over and mumbled someone's name, she couldnt understand due to the fact that he had his head under the blankets. She leaned against the headboard of the bed and turne up the tv a little bit she heard the movie start and she grabbed her soda and sippe it and set the glass back down the movie was called "Lustful Nights" an adult movie, since there was nothing else on the weeknights anyplace

I told my son I was really sorry about the mistake, and if he wanted I would send Marine X another package. Marine's Father Wins Nearly $11 Million"Jury Awards Father Nearly $11 Million in Funeral Protesters Case"
The father of a fallen Marine was awarded nearly $11 million Wednesday in damages by a jury that found leaders of a fundamentalist church had invaded the family's privacy and inflicted emotional distress when they picketed the Marine's funeral.
The jury first awarded $2.9 million in compensatory damages. It returned later in the afternoon with its decision to award $6 million in punitive damages for invasion of privacy and $2 million for causing emotional distress to the Marine's father, Albert Snyder of York, Pa.
Snyder sued the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church for unspecified monetary damages after members staged a demonstration at the March 2006 funeral of his son, Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, who was killed in Iraq.
The defense said it planned to appeal and one of the church's leaders, Shirley Phelps-Roper, said the members would continue their pickets of military funerals.

{This was written by my husband, Aaron, who is currently deployed to

Yesterday John Kerry said, "You know education, if you make the most of

smart, you can do well, and if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq"
So I wrote him a letter:

Maria had just got married and being a traditional Italian, she was

she was nervous. But her mother reassured her. "Don't worry, Maria.
Tony's a good man. Go upstairs and he'll take care of you."
So up she went. When she got upstairs, Tony took off his shirt and
exposed his hairy chest. Maria ran downstairs to her mother and says,
"Mama, Mama, Tony's got a big hairy chest." "Don't worry, Maria," says
the mother," all good men have hairy chests. Go upstairs. He'll take
good care of you."
So, up she went again. When she got up in the bedroom, Tony took off
his pants exposing his hairy legs. Again, Maria ran downstairs to her

"Don't worry. All good men have hairy legs. Tony's a good man. Go

Marine Corps SniperMarine Corps Sniper...
A USMC sniper that was station in Iraq was real good at his job.
This sniper had a method. He would yell out some insult at the enemy and when someone stood up to reply, Bang! One less insurgent! After every mission the company commander would ask "How many insurgents have you shot today?"
However, on this particular day when asked about the number killed, he reported "Five killed and I let one go."
"Let one go?" roared the company commander.
"What do you mean, you let one go?"
"Well, I yelled out 'Osama is a Homo!' Then this big insurgent stood up and yelled 'Hillary is a Bitch!'
I just couldn't shoot a fellow Republican!"
MariagePerfect Man, A Perfect Woman or Perfect Marriage?
What is Perfect? Even God himself could not create the perfect man or woman or relationship. There is a flaw in human nature, unlike the animal kingdom men and women indulge in sex for pleasure. Love however does have a big role to play in it but it’s different for men and women. There is a saying “Men offer love to gain sex, a women offers sex to gain love.” If Adam and Eve couldn’t make a go at it with a perfect world set before them, then how are we in this time and age expected to do so. Now I’m not going to knock the ones who have found who they feel is there perfect match, more power to them but I know from just common sense and looking at relationships all around that people need more to life that what they are getting. For the most part “Love” is short lived, 6 months? 7 Years? 50 years? Who knows? Even my parents who have been married for 50+ years were married before they met each other.
However, the lust and the desir

Marion JonesMarion Jones was sentenced to six months in prison for lying about steroid use and a lucrative cheque fraud case.
The ruling was handed down by United States District Judge Kenneth Karas, who also sentenced Jones to two years probation and 400 hours of community service.
It concluded a torrid few months for the 32-year-old who admitted in October to lying to federal investigators in 2003, when she denied using performance enhancing-drugs.
Jones won gold medals in the 100 and 200 metre sprints along with the 4x400m relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She also won bronze medals in the 4x100m relay and the long jump.
But Jones returned all five in October and Friday's sentencing completed a spectacular downfall which prompted a statement by USA Track & Field president Bill Roe and CEO Craig Masback.
It read: "The revelation that one of the sport's biggest stars took performance-enhancing drugs and repeatedly lied about it, in addition to being a party to fraud, has no

MarinesRecently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to
let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they
send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines
thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not
support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops
their
brand of coffee.
So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by
buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open. I
know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't
mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street -to-street and

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can

Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I

Loving a Marine
Loving a Marine is not always play;
Loving him truly is a high price to pay.
It's being alone with no one to hold,
It's being young and feeling so old.
It's having him whispering his love to you;
It's whispering back that you love him, too.
There comers a kiss and a promise of more,
and in his mind fond memories he will store.
Reluctantly, painfully, letting him go,
while your dying inside from wanting him so.
Watching him leave with eyes full of tears,
standing alone with your hopes, dreams and fears.
It's sending a letter with the stamp upside down,
to your far away love in a far away town.
It's going to church to kneel and pray,
and really meaning the things you say.
Weeks are like months, and months like years.
You wait for the day when you'll have no more fears.
Days go by slowly, how many have passed?
And suddenly you realize that it is here at last!

A Marine's Wife...2A Marine's wife is full of glory
She sees in his eyes his full life story
She's a patient woman of great understanding
She states her opinions and is rarely demanding
In moments of sadness or unexpected sorrow
She'll liven the day for a better tomorrow
She gives him warmth when his life is cold
For he holds the key to her heart of gold
Her ultimate test of being a Marine Corps wife
Is bearing the absence of the man in her life
"My duty comes first," she remembers him saying.

Marilyn Monroe, A Driving Dog And An Impatient Man It Has To Be MondayGood Morning. Did anyone see that security video of a truck backing through traffic to end up in a fast food joint and an astonished truck owner who thought his truck and dog had been stolen? Police found the truck and dog across the street unscathed and lucky to be that way. Apparently the man did not apply the emergency brake tight enough. Or perhaps the dog just was impatient and wanted to go. In other news… a Man from Vegas, thought he found a naked photo of Marilyn Monroe that had never been seen before and summoned reporters to view it. All thought the photo was real until one person looked it over and said: “ That’s not Marilyn Monroe, that is Madonna!” The man who started this whole thing out a 73 year old man rummaging through a trunk of a car which had been dropped off for service and not picked up. The Man Lawrence Nicastro claimed it was truly Marilyn Monroe until one reporter pointed out it was a Naked Madonna hitch hiking with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. Lawre

Everything turns to shit
The boy that you loved
Is the man that you fear
Pray untill you're number
Asleep from all your pain
Your apple has been rotting
Tomorrow's turned up dead
I have it all and I have no choice but to
I'll make everyone pay and you will see
You can kill yourself now
Because you're dead in my mind
The boy that you loved
Is the monster you fear
Peel off all those eyes
Crawl into the dark
You've poisoned all your children
To camouflage your scars
Pray unto the splinters, pray unto your fear
Pray your life was just a dream
The cut that never heals
Pray now baby
Pray your life was just a dream

A Marine Poem I FoundI am a Marine, I stand tall and proud
This I say, to my enemies out loud!
I serve my country, where she needs me
The Heart of the corps, is its fidelity
We are the best, at what we do
Which my friend, is protecting you
We fight for freedom, and our flag
This is a fact, not just brag
We've been called leathernecks and jarhead too
We're first to be called, when there's fighting to do
We're known as... lean, green, fighting machines
But, I prefer... The few, the proud, a U.S. MARINE
The Marital TentWell I met my husband in college. We were both Geology majors. I know, why the hell did you choose Geology? I dunno.
It was a small college in Georgia. There were about 15 of us Geology majors, about 12 guys and 3 girls. A big part of our major was going on field trips to look at rocks and fossils and stuff like that. So, that was the cool part. Going for a few days and camping in the woods, building campfires and drinking beer.
I had already been at the school for a while when he arrived. It took two quarters for us to get together. We were actually assigned to each other as lab partners, it was an alphabetical thing. It all started happening in the lab.
So everyone in our class watched us get together as a couple. Sometimes I would be the only girl in a particular class, surrounded by guys. I kinda knew what they were thinking. Is he doing her?
Well we went on these field trips, and if there was another girl we would share a tent, but if it was only m

1. Early this month I received the following note from a distinguished friend:
General Chapman:
"Recently I was in an air terminal......(Most people there presented a pretty sloppy appearance) - coats unbuttoned, ties loosened, etc. There was a Marine Corporal (in uniform) who was just the opposite. I spoke to the Marine and pointed out the difference to him. I asked him why it was so? His answer was: 'The Marines don't do that.'"
"Regards,"
2. "The Marines don't do that." A simple statement of fact which leaves no question in the mind of the listener.
3.
Marines don't - wear a scruffy uniform.
Marines don't - slouch around with their hands in their pockets. Marines don't - wear long hair.

A Marine's 'twas The Night Before Christmas'Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
In a one-bedroom house made of plaster and stone.
I had come down the chimney, with presents to give
and to see just who in this home did live.
As I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
no tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand.
On the wall hung pictures of a far distant land.
With medals and badges, awards of all kind,
a sobering thought soon came to my mind.
For this house was different, unlike any I’d seen.
This was the home of a U.S. Marine.
I’d heard stories about them, I had to see more,
so I walked down the hall and pushed open the door.
And there he lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor in his one-bedroom home.
He seemed so gentle, his face so serene,
Not how I pictured a U.S. Marine.
Was this the hero, of whom I’d just read?
Curled up in his poncho, a floor for his bed?

You're a disgusting asshole that was horrible in bed and made me want to vomit each time you touched me. It's sad that you use your title to make yourself feel like you're worth something because in the end you're not some great marine that will do wonders for our country, you're a gross, short, disgusting mother fucker that sucks in bed!

The Marine Corps Adopted Semper FidelisThe Marine Corps adopted Semper Fidelis as
its official motto in 1883 (Semper Fidelis is also the title of the official musical March of the Marine Corps).
Translated from Latin, Semper Fidelis means
"Always Faithful." U.S. Marines use an
abbreviated verbal version, "Semper Fi,"
to voice loyalty and commitment to
their Marine comrades-in-arms.
Previous mottos of the Marine Corps were
(1) To the Shores of Tripoli, adopted in 1805;
(2) Fortitude, adopted in 1812;
(3) From the Halls of Montezuma to
the Shores of Tripoli, adopted in 1848; and

Marine's Attitude....Two California Highway Patrol Officers were conducting speeding enforcement on I-15, just north of the Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar . One of the officers was using a hand held radar device to check speeding vehicles approaching the crest of a hill.
The officers were suddenly surprised when the radar gun began reading 300 miles per hour. The officer attempted to reset the radar gun, but it would not reset and then turned off. Just then a deafening roar over the treetops revealed that the radar had in fact locked on to a USMC F/A-18 Hornet which was engaged in a low flying exercise near the location. Back at the CHPs Headquarters the Patrol Captain fired off a complaint to the USMC Base Commander. The reply came back in true USMC style:
Thank you for your letter. We can now complete the file on this incident. You may be interested to know that the tactical computer in the Hornet had detected the presence of, and subsequently locked on to, you

A compound in marijuana may be a potent anti-inflammatory agent that won't get people high, scientists say.
The finding could be a boon to sufferers of arthritis, cirrhosis, and other diseases. Existing drugs can be less effective for some people and can carry side effects, from stomach ulcers to increased risk of heart attacks.

"Our interest is to exploit the pharmacological nature of the CB2 receptor," because it does not have psychotropic side effects, Gertsch explained in an email.

Marine Corps BirthdayThe Marine Corps Birthday
Marine Corps BirthdayThe U.S. Marine Corps begins preparations for its "birthday party" every summer. Activities become more feverish as the fall hues arrive. By early November, every Marine is either rehearsing his role in the "party" or pressing, polishing, and spit-shining in order to appear at his or her best for the Birthday Ball. This has not always been the case, however. In fact, Marines have not always celebrated their founding on November the 10th.
Formal commemoration of the birthday of the Marine Corps began on 10 November 1921. That particular date was chosen because on that day the Second Continental Congress resolved in 1775 to raise two battalions of Continental Marines.
Until 1921 the birthday of the Corps had been celebrated on another date. An unidentified newspaper clipping from 1918 refers to the celebration of the 120th birthday of the Marine Corps on 11 July "as usual with no fuss." It is doubtful that there was any real celebra
Marine Corps War MemorialMarine Corps War Memorial
Rising from hallowed ground, the Marine Corps War Memorial overlooks the Potomac River at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. It is the largest bronze monument in the world. Arguably, it is also the most famous monument in the world. And for all who have earned the title, a pilgrimage to the monument is required.
First, a brief historical review: In the closing years of World War II, U.S. Marines fought and bled their way across the Pacific Ocean toward Japan. The Japanese knew their tiny volcanic island, Iwo Jima, would be attacked. Its crucial airfields lay only 650 miles from Tokyo, just over two hours flying time. So, under the command of LtGen. Tadamichi Kuribayashi, Japan's best and brightest mining engineers turned remote Iwo Jima into a seemingly impregnable fortress. In the volcanic rock, laborers blasted out 16 miles of tunnels, connecting 1500 rooms. The engineers built underground hospitals and supply rooms under h

Life for me is not the same,

Jail in any form will have some kind of health hazard, and I don't want to even think of prison. Yes, smoking pot does have some side effects, but so does drinking a pot of coffee. Driving in the other lane of traffic is a serious health hazard, so is eating shards of glass and throwing yourself into a wall.. but you could hardly compare any of these to smoking pot.
In most cases, the marijuana is smoked in a pipe or rolled. Smokers like myself like a good joint to relax instead of drinking a beer, which by the way is physically addictive and the number one killer along with tobacco, but mostly we smoke out of a pipe. When you smoke out of a pipe you cut out the chemicals burned in smoking a joint. As the paper burns, it's almost like smoking a cigarette, except in this you're actually getting something out of it. Marielle HangsThe girl hung from a harness in the center of the dungeon, ankles and wrists cuffed together, secured to a hook from the ceiling. She was swinging gently from the harness, thinking to herself that she was not really enjoying this. She would never utter a word of complaint, yet hanging from the ceiling of the dungeon for hours at a time was not on the top of her list of favorite things to do. She stilled as she heard the door to the dungeon open, completely unable to see whether Master Leon or Mistress Daphne had entered, or if one of the other girls had been sent in to punish her more.
"Marielle, Mistress Daphne has asked me to come join you. I am to kneel on the floor beneath you but we are not allowed to chat." A girl moved across the dungeon, kneeling down on the marks on the floor. She rested back on her heels as she laid her hand, palm up, upon her creamy thighs. Marielle's PunishmentMaster Leon stood in the doorway, his slave sleeping soundly on the bed with her mistress. One would expect them to be curled together, but this was not the case, however the sight before him was quite erotic. With that mere thought, Master Leon felt his cock stir. He looked at his wife sleeping quietly between their slave's legs.
Marielle was shackled spreadeagle on their bed, naked, sans for the clamps on her nipples and slave bells around her ankle. Mistress Daphne started to stir, turning her head a bit to look behind her, grinning slightly as a gentle blush crept across her cheeks. She stands, walking over next to her husband and whispers softly in his ear, "I think I might have worn her out. I didn't mean to."
Leon just laughed, a loud, hearty, guffawing laugh, loud enough to wake the dead. Marielle jumped, waking suddenly, the metal from the cuffs clanking against the steel headboard. Leon walked over to the bed, looking down at the girl, right into her eyes. She bit her l

The MarineWe all came together,
Both young and old
To fight for our freedom,
To stand and be bold
In the midst of all evil,
We stand our ground ,
And we protect our country
From all terror around
Peace and not war,
Is what some people say.
But I'll give my life,
So you can live the American way.
I give you the right
To talk of your peace.
To stand in your groups,
and protest in our streets.
But still I fight on,
I don't bitch, I don't whine.
I'm just one of the people
Who is doing your time
I'm harder than nails,
Stronger than any machine.
I'm the immortal soldier,
I'm a U.S. MARINE!
So stand in my shoes,
And leave from your home.
Fight for the people who hate you,
With the protests they've shown.
Fight for the stranger, Fight for the young.
So they all may have,
The greatest freedom you've won
Fight for the sick,
Fight for the poor
Fight for the cripple,
Who lives next door.
But when your time comes,

Marine Corps History To Help You TodayHere is something every person should really consider on November 4th
I am Not asking for you to reply to me with an answer. This is something that is a personal decision that only you need to really know the answer to.
What is the primary reason you are voting this election ?
I may sound abrasive here, Although,
Would you be willing to be put in a category as Sheep that go to a slaughter?
Do you go to the Election booth like herds of cattle in masses and out of shear habit?
Do you really consider who you are voting for to represent your views your principles?
Some go through life wondering if they have made a difference.
Marines Don't have that problem
- Ronald Reagan
During the Truman Era The USMC was threatened with being disbanded.
Truman proposed disbanding the Marine Corps as part of the 1948 defense reorganization plan, a plan that was only abandoned after a letter-writing campaign and the intervention of influential congressmen who were veteran Marines.

Marine Christmas Story'Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
In a one-bedroom house made of plaster and stone.
His head was clean-shaven, his weathered

Marijuana Ruling Faces ReviewMarijuana Ruling Faces Review
POSTED: 6:59 am MST January 7, 2009
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Supreme Court agreed Tuesday to review a lower court's ruling that there is no constitutional right to use marijuana for religious purposes.
The state Court of Appeals' July ruling upheld the conviction and sentences of Danny Ray Hardesty in Yavapai County for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hardesty argued that he was entitled to use marijuana under religious freedom protections of the state and federal constitutions.
The Court of Appeals acknowledged that courts have ruled that use of peyote for a bona fide religious belief is a defense to prosecution.
But the ruling said marijuana use is more pervasive and that the uniform ban on possession and use is a legitimate restriction imposed by government.

Mr. Althaibani, 23, was the last of five young marines to come home to an extended family of Yemeni immigrants in Brooklyn. Like the others, he grew accustomed to the uneasy stares and prying questions. He learned not to talk about his service in the company of Muslim neighbors and relatives.

Marilyn ChambersLOS ANGELES – Marilyn Chambers, the pretty Ivory Snow girl who helped bring hard-core adult films into the mainstream consciousness when she starred in the explicit 1972 movie "Behind the Green Door," has died at 56.
The cause of death was not immediately known. A family friend, Peggy McGinn, said Chambers' 17-year-old daughter found the actress' body Sunday night at her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Canyon Country. Chambers was pronounced dead at the scene, the county coroner's office said Monday.
Chambers and fellow actresses Linda Lovelace and Georgina Spelvin shot to fame at a time in the early 1970s when both American social mores and the quality of hard-core sex films were changing.
For the first time, films like "Behind the Green Door" and "Deep Throat" (also released in 1972 and starring Lovelace) had decent acting and legitimate if fairly thin plots. As the audiences for them grew to include couples, they also began to take on higher production values and to be se
MarijuanaToday's modern "War on Drugs" is less than a war on "drugs", and more of a war on the plant, Cannabis sativa. Cannabis sativa, more commonly known as marijuana, or "pot", is an annual flowering crop, used for medicinal, industrial, and recreational purposes for thousands of years; however, it is this function ability which contributes to the debate of it's legalization. The chemical property in Marijuana that produces the controversial "high" is called delta- 9- tetrahydrocanna binol, or for short THC. (NIDA) Marijuana's physical properties, such as when grown for the use of hemp, are incredibly useful -- more durable than cotton, more plentiful than timber, and hydrocarbons capable of producing a wide range of alternative fuels.(Facts About Hemp) Beginning in the 1930s, racism against Mexicans and African- Americans, and the threat of hemp's potentially large market made marijuana a prime suspect of criminalization . Wealthy individuals pushed their agenda, with the right connections,

Mariah Carey Berry Ver One~Mariah Carey Berry did two more steps before the music stopped and she looked around to make sure every dancer was in their place and not off the mark. She nodded in satisfaction that rehearsal was going so well before stiffing a little. She tossed the mike to a standby and almost ran to her dressing room. Shutting the door, she raised her dress and slipped two fingers under the panty to remove a slim plastic object from behind the material. She flushed with excitement and saw the sparkle in her eyes as she flipped the phone, raised it to her ear, and said 'hello' as she smelled her own aroma. There was no question in her tone, there was only one person who even knew the phone existed, let alone had the number and she never missed the calls, no matter where or when. He watched as the girl got into her car after school. He had been admiring her for several months but she had barely acknowledged his existence other than to let him know that he was annoying just being in her sight. Her fr

DALLAS - Frank Larison is a disabled veteran with more than 14 years of service, including more than a year of combat duty in Vietnam.
The 58-year-old former Marine now finds himself under attack by his Dallas homeowners association for displaying seven decals on his vehicle supporting the Marine Corps.
"To me, it's being patriotic, and it shows that I served," the veteran told FOX 4.
The board says the decals are advertisements that violate HOA rules, and must be covered or removed.
Otherwise, the homeowners association for The Woodlands II on The Creek --- where Larimore has lived for eight years --- says in a letter it will tow the car at Larimore's expense. The board also threatens to fine him $50 for any future incident.
Larimore says the decals, ranging from the Marine emblem to Semper Fi slogans, aren't advertisements for anything. "You can't buy freedom," he reasoned.

Marie LaveauMarie Laveau Biography
Biographical Information by David Arbury.
Marie Leveau is a complicated and fascinating figure in New Orleans history. Though she is famous even today as one of the most powerful Voodoo priestesses who ever lived, few hard facts are known about her life. Close scrutiny reveals many contradictions and fantastic legends about Marie Leveau, but even tales which a skeptic might find difficult to accept pale next to the proven facts of this remarkable and powerful woman's life. Born in the 1790's, details of her exact parentage and origin are uncertain. She moved to New Orleans in her youth and was raised a devout Catholic - later becoming friends with Pere Antoine, the chaplain at St. Louis Cathedral. At the age of twenty-five, Marie joined a local freeman Jacques Paris in what was by all accounts a happy marriage. Later after his disappearance and presumed death, she lived with Cristophe Glapion. Between the two men, Marie bore fifteen children including

Marie Catherine LaveauMarie Laveau - the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans
The Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. In all times, in all places, no one has ever risen to the statue or fame in Voodoo as Marie Laveau. Famed in history, infamous in folklore and ever present, even today.Marie Catherine Laveau was born in New Orleans on September 10, 1801. She was the natural daughter of two free persons of color, both mulattos. She was a free woman of color and a Creole. She was married to Jacques Paris in 1819 at the St. Louis Cathedral with the famed Père Antoine officiating. She had two children, both of whom appear to have died before reaching maturity. With a few years, her husband apparently also died she began calling herself the Widow Paris, a name that survived onto her tomb. Around the mid 1820’s she began a plaçage with Louis Christophe Dominick Duminy de Glapion with who she bore seven more children. (The plaçage system afforded interracial couples a marriage of conscience, if not legality). Of
Marines March In Grueling Afghan Sun July 4thBy JASON STRAZIUSO, Associated Press Writer Jason Straziuso, Associated Press Writer – 39 mins ago
NAWA, Afghanistan – Taliban militants were nowhere in sight as the columns of U.S. Marines walked a third straight day across southern Afghanistan. But the desert heat proved an enemy in its own right, with several troops falling victim Saturday to temperatures topping 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Marines carry 50-100 pounds (23-45 kilograms) on their backs. But because they are marching through farmland on foot, they can't carry nearly as much water as their thirst demands.
Few even realized the date was July 4, but once word of the holiday spread through the company, several said they knew relatives would be holding lakeside celebrations — a world away from the strenuous task Bravo Company of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment was taking on.
"Happy 4th of July, dawg. Happy America," said Lance Corp. Vince Morales, 21, of Baytown, Texas said to on

Laveau was also a devout Catholic; it was this unique blending of Voodoo rituals and Catholicism that would differentiate New Orleans voodoo from other forms of the practice.
About 1875 the original Marie Laveau I, bereft of her youth and memory, became confined to her home on Rue St. Ann and did not leave until claimed by death some

Dispensary moratorium: Latest political fad?
One by one, across California, the lights are winking out.
In city after city, town after town, patients who had dared hope they would at last have safe access to the medicine recommended by their physicians are having those hopes dashed by political cowardice, inertia, and the status quo.
In case you haven't noticed, medical marijuana is yet another front in the culture wars. Conservative hamlets which aren't yet ready for the 21st Century notion of patients being legally allowed to treat themselves with cannabis are turning off the light of hope for those who have already waited 13 years for the hope of Proposition 215 to become a reality.
Cheering on the dispensary ban fad are our friends at the California Police Chiefs Association, who released a reefer madness-tinged "report" in April claiming that cities allowing dispen
Marijuana Is Safer: Not A Good Book. A Great Book. August 22nd, 2009 By Dpachecohttp://bit.ly/3GY1Mm
I just recently started watching the HBO show The Wire (I know, I know). One sentiment expressed by one of the police officer characters (sorry, I don’t have their names memorized yet) stuck with me. He said, the phrase “War on Drugs” is a misnomer. Why? Well… wars end. Wars end. When will the federal government end the “War on Drugs”? When will they admit it’s unwinnable and try adopting a new strategy—namely, decriminalization? When will they give adults the choice: a dangerous, potentially lethal substance (alcohol), or a relatively benign one (marijuana)? StoptheDrugWar.org delves into these question in their recent review of Marijuana Is Safer: So Why Are We Driving People to Drink? by Steve Fox, Paul Armentano, and Mason Tvert. More at link…

Marijuana: Should It Be Legalized? Part Iihttp://www.examiner.com/x-20909-Columbia-I...
In part one of this series we took a look at a couple of the key figures whose campaign of lies and propaganda helped stoke anti-marijuana sentiment among the American public. There were many more. Lawmakers who eventually voted to outlaw marijuana had little factual evidence to assist them in making their decision. The case that was layed out before them had almost no basis in fact. In part two we will look at the cost of marijuana prohibition, not just in dollars, but in destroyed lives. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, as of 2008 there were 2,310,984 prisoners were held in federal and state prisons, or in local jails. 20 percent of those were incarcerated for drug offenses. The latest DOJ statistics show that one in eight prisoners in the U.S. are jailed for marijuana-related offenses, at a cost of more than $1 billion a year. The most recent FBI figures estimated that 786,545 people were arrested on marijuana
Marijuana: Should It Be Legalized? Part Ihttp://www.examiner.com/x-20909-Columbia-I...
People have used marijuana since before the beginning of recorded history. It is known to have been used thousands of years before the birth of Christ and its use was legal for the vast majority of that time. It was legal in the United States until the early 1900's, when a campaign of lies and propaganda brought about its prohibition. Recently many prominent people, including California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and former Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo have advocated the legalization of marijuana, or at the very least having a national discussion on that possibility. Many people have come to realize that if marijuana were legalized, regulated, and taxed many of the problems caused by its prohibition could be erased, and tens of billions in revenue could be generated. Thousands die yearly in accidents or due to health related problems resulting from the use of alcohol, yet it is legal, and it should be. It is the responsi
Marilyn, Rita, Jane....cary, Fred, James....classic N' SexyThey sure don't make music and entertainment like they used to...sure, today's movies are full of sexy actors and tons of action-packed computer generated scenes that blow away the minds of all of us who watch them, but whatever happened to simple TALENT????
Marilyn Monroe, aka Norma Jean, was the TRUE story of rags to riches. Anyone who knows how she was "discovered" knows this. Forced out of her parents' house at the age of 16 and forced to marry, she became a USO girl. My grandma was a USO girl too in Washington D.C. during WWII, and she had the pleasure of meeting Norma Jean at some functions for the war. While her husband was gone in the war, Norma Jean did some modeling to help support herself, and a man from Hollywood noticed her radiant beauty. When her husband returned home from the war, Norma Jean had already made the decision to divorce him and follow her dreams of stardom. But as we all know, stardom became the ruination of "Marilyn" and a beautiful star died all to

MARINE
A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in ... Iraq and Afghanistan... One of the courses had a professor who was a vowed atheist and a member of the ACLU
One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes."
The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.
Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting."
It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform.
The professor was out cold.
The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently.
The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence.
