To all my friends, I’m writing this to let everyone know that after September 20th, I will be Offline and homeless. You get this ring on your finger, and you belong to someone. There's pros and cons to that. There's a lot of pros, I know. But the sad thing is, you get cut off from others too. Today my family has been destroyed by the loss of my father. Such a young man at 69 yrs old is now gone. I will be offline for a minute while I bury him and grieve. Please keep my family in your prayers and know that life is too short as there was no warning that this was gonna happen to us and now I must explain to my son on his 6th bday why his pop pop is not around anymore. Many and many a year ago, when I was about 20 or so :), I took a trip to Ireland to see the country and visit relatives. I had a little cousin in Dublin named Connor. Had to take the youngest to the doc yesterday. High fever, vomiting, general listlessness... She says it looks like the beginning of an upper respiratory infection - didn't want to call it flu/H1N1 yet - but it's possible. My poor baby. There is no other issue that I am split on more than illegal immigration. While I realize that it is unlawful and wrong, I cannot blame those people that try to escape their shitty holes with the prospects of a better future being just across the border. I think i do handle being sick...pretty good. I don`t feel too good, the majority of the time....and i don`t tend to go about...telling people i don`t feel well. I just mowed my front yard. It took about fifteen minutes, with my lovely people-powered mower. I did the back yard last night--also about fifteen minutes of work. Illness In My Home
If I seem out of touch to you all, well I am off my game. For those of you who know me and talk to me the most, you know about my son Noah and all that we have been going through with him. Noah has been sick off and on since January of this year. Something wrong with his stomach. As of this posting, we still have no answers. Poor Noah has been through alot of tests, with probably alot more on the way. We were at Urgent Care for about 3 hrs. today, with more tests that revealed nothing. 9/11/01 I'll Never Forget!
Stephen Siller, beloved husband and father of five, was a firefighter from Squad 1, Park Slope Brooklyn. On 9/11, he was off-duty, and on his way to golf with his 3 older brothers. When Stephen heard on his scanner that the World Trade Center had been hit, he turned his vehicle around and headed towards the site. When his truck was prohibited from entering the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, typical of him, he raced on foot towards the site with his gear strapped to his back. He was last seen alive on West and Liberty Streets where he, more than likely, went looking for his Squad, all of whom perished.The Tunnel to Towers Run retraces Stephen’s footsteps on that fateful day. Illness
Just a note to let everyone know that I will be off and on sporadicly for a while. My father fell and broke his hip on Tuesday and has had to have surgery to repair it. Complicating this is his heart condition. Today (Friday) he has been moved to ICU because his heart is causing problems and may require emergency surgery on top of the surgery performed yesterday. I will post more as I can.

Illness 1
It is Sunday night and the news for the moment is fair. My father's hip surgery is considered successful. However, he will have heart bypass surgery either Monday or Tuesday. He has 100% blockage in one artery, 80 % blockage in another artery and 70 % blockage in the third artery. Also they will replace a valve in his heart at this time. His heart held up well during and immediately after surgery but over the weekend has been giving him problems. He is not the best patient and he is understandably nervous about the next surgery. My brother and I have repeatedly had to remind him that he will have to stop getting irritated with the staff and the procedures being run on him to determine the best course of action. The doctors will make a final decision tomorrow morning as to when to perform the surgery. I will post more as I can. Take care and have a great evening.

This blog shouldn’t take long today, because I’ve got goals! But I’ve said that before … today at our house we’ve officially “inaugurated” eating meals from “The Biggest Loser” cookbook. I hate the show because you’d think the contestants constantly rub onions under their noses the way they cry at weigh-ins, those weekly ceremonies where after workouts, challenges, and temptations, they weigh themselves and the people who’ve lost the least percentage of body weight are up for elimination from the program. I love the food; this morning my sister-in-law Mary fixed her and me a “garbage can” omelet with (duh) one egg, sausage, cheese, red peppers, green peppers, yellow peppers, and onions. Only 213 calories in it too and really filling! Martha had for breakfast a whole wheat English muffin with egg, cheese, and sausage – I don’t remember what the calorie count was on that, but it was low and Martha said it was filling!
