So the strangest thing happened today. A friend from the past... welll i should say more than a friend.. and ex-lover from my past contacted me today. Out of the blue. Saturday Evening: I wake up on the couch. I must have fallen asleep watching the crappy edited T.V. verson of The Terminator rather than just getting up off my lazy behind and putting the damned tape into the V.C.R. The world of hurt and pain is full of disappointment and sorrow. I live it everyday but I still move on and hang my head in shame. I allow this to happen. I bring it on myself. But I am ok and will continue to be. My heart is still locked. I haven't opened it yet and will continue to safeguard it for life. My job consists of medical emergency calls and today I received one of the worst. I am about to leave for the day and I receive a call from “Jane” but when I answered the call, no one said anything on the other end, I have this rule after me saying Hello three times with no response I normally will hang up. Last night was the first time I've ever been to The World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. It's a good place to see live music, and it's affiliated with one of my closest friends radio station, Yrock. It's a comfortable atmosphere, and the food is organic, with lots of healthy and vegitarian choices. I was there to see Qwirk, one of my favorite bands play. It was an artist showcase, the last show before the finals. Every previous night had a winner that got to play on Saturday night. While Qwirk didn't win, they definitely got some good exposure. It's very hard to break into the industry when you're an instrumental band, but I really think that if they work hard and promote themselves well, and have as many people helping to promote them as possible, they'll have a good, loyal fanbase. But some say progress at the site has been painful. Am I the only one to notice that in todays world a majority of people are out for themselves and could careless who they walk over to get what they want out of life? It seems like everyone I know is out to rip people off and get what they want out of life and to hell with who gets hurt. I was at dinner in Philadelphia with a friend. We finished up around 10 P.M. My friend used the valet, but I parked in a indoor garage. She offered me a ride but I passed because it was only a block and a half walk and she was on a one way street going the opposite direction from my garage. As I was walking down the street I felt like someone was walking behind me. I looked on the window of a shop across the street and saw the reflection of someone walking quickly behind me. I stayed calm but picked up the pace of my walk (not that I can walk that fast in heels with my short legs). Before I knew it, someone grabbed me from behind. How can one 27-year-old man set off a police chase that includes 2,240 police officers, 460 police cars and one helicopter? Osaka's Hirofumi Fukuda assaulted several police officers, which qualified him as a seriously wanted man. An Australian woman described as the world's oldest Internet blogger has died at the age of 108 after posting a final message about singing "a happy song" in her nursing home. Olive Riley "passed away peacefully on July 12 and will be mourned by thousands of Internet friends and hundreds of descendants and other relatives," a note on her website said. World's Tallest Woman Dies In Indiana At Age 53

THOSE BORN 1920-1980 First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. So I read this over the past few days, and genuinely one of the most astonishing genre novels I've ever read. As the cover states, "an oral history of the zombie war", it's basically the story of Earth facing a global crisis consisting of the dead rising to eat brains and stuff, but instead of a straight novel, it's instead presented as a factual collection of interviews with survivors that piece together to form a history of the crisis. While this approach does sacrifice a certain amount of tension, dispensing with the usual tricks of horror writing and coming over very disapssionately, what it gains in return is an absolutely convincing sense of how our world would respond to such a crisis. The detail, and moreover the choice of how and when to reveal the detail, and when to let you fill in the gaps yourself, make not only for an air of authenticity that defies belief when considering the subject matter, but makes for as finely crafted a work of fiction as I've ever read.
