"so tomorrow when you are walking down the street listen to your inner child and just run up to someone poke them and go 'TAG YOU'RE IT'... because then if they have any decency at all *or if they hear this too* they'll play back with you... and you'll just have a huge game of tag going on in the middle of the street ... you'll see people walking around with their backpacks and breifcases looking around and going 'hey whos it?' ... 1/2 C. shortening 1/2 C. butter 1/2 C. light brown sugar 2 egg yolks (reserve whites) 1 t. vanilla 2 C. flour 1/2 t. salt Finely chopped walnuts Preheat oven to 375° F. The sun disappeared so quickly it was like it went from day to night in the blink of an eye. Well last night was another game between the OKC Thunder and the Phoenix Suns. This game was a shut out from the start. During the first 3 quarters the Thunder kept the suns from scoring 20 points in each quarter. This was really big for the Thunder, since during a game against the Bobcats where the cats were held to just 69 total points. Sefolosha had a monster night going 5 - 7 beyond the arc for 3's, and he was only 2 points away from tying his career high. Why is it that losing a drummer feels like someone died? We had the tightest little group and now we have to go through the whole process all over again. Last night's dance class was a lot of fun but quite the challenge! We started zills last night (finger cymbals) and found out that trying to walk and use the zills (right, left, right) was as hard as learning to walk all over again...who knew, lol...Again, I'm sore this morning but in some previously undiscovered muscles from doing hipcircles for about 10 minutes. The class is 1.5 hours long and honestly, I don't know where the time goes, it just seems to fly by. The age group is varied from 20's to almost 60 with the vast majority of us over 30 (ahem...lol...)and the class is always rocking and rolling with laughter. I haven't had this much fun for years...smile...

Fun to think forward to Friday. I'm happy to think about getting out at 5 and not having to stare at deeds til Monday. I wanna get out of my job but I should wait til year end before I do that. Thursday And Counting Down!
Counting down to the weekend, that is! None of the guys are into demolition at the moment, lmao! My Career Day talks went very well, so Dakota tells me, lol! I thought they had, too. I love to briing and share my "toys" - needles of all sizes, cups for cupping, guasha tools; all the lovely little oddities that make Oriental Medicine so much fun, lol!! Didn't show off my fire needles, those are my pride and joy, lol! Someday I'll tell you how they work - and, no, they are not legal in the US of A!! I'm so happy the current "hair trauma" isn't mine, lol! Unfortunately, Taylor decided the all one layer look was not for him. His hair was too poofy, lol! So he went to have it layered - which made the poofiness worse! Damn, I could have told him that, if he'd just waited for me to get home!!! So he now has a rather short, layered haircut, long on the sides, a tad asymmetrical - think AFI, lol! I thought girls were bad - Taylor came home and locked himself in his room, he was so upset!

I am so glad its almost the weekend. Found out today the editor we set up for our clients in their sites no longer works if they upgrade to Windows Vista. That is going to be a HUGE headache to get around. I spent most of the day looking for answers. Thanks Immortal and PG for your help. :) Not sure I am going to choir tonight. I'm tired and a bit grumpy from the Vista thing. Looked through a pile of pictures today. Pics from highschool and college for the most part. Yes.. I had hair then..lol. Found pics of my ex in there... YUCK..lol. Maybe I could hang them up in the basement to scare away the birds that get in there. Someone's lectures on eating healthy have really messed up my diet. I ate carrots tonight instead of french fries and had a bannana for dessert instead of a dish of icecream. Something is definitely wrong! lol Its getting warm again. It got into the 60's again.

Today was a really good day, the weather was awesome, so I spent some of the afternoon outside with my mom and my aunt when she came over to hang out for awhile. She said that my cousin who is in the Air Force in Massachusetts is coming in in a couple of weeks and wants our whole family to go out to eat so I'm really looking forward to seeing her as I didn't get to over Thanksgiving when she and her fiancee were here and she wasn't able to come back in for Christmas so I'm glad to be able to get to see her this time. She just found out that she has Graves Disease but I think it's just the early stages of it so hopefully they can treat her for it and it won't cause any bad problems. Almost to the weekend, and one more day of oncall...things seem better already! On call has been pretty slow though, so I can't complain. Like I said before, I like being on call. I'm not thrilled with getting called out at 4am, but that doesn't happen too often, and your paid mostly to drive. Our area is rural, so lots of windshield time to the callouts. I will be all alone this weekend. Shawnna is going to bowl in Peoria for state, and the boy is going to his mom's. She insisted he comes up there this weekend, and he's not too happy about it. I don't blame him. They don't do anything that a teenaged boy would want to do. His brother goes and hangs with his friends, and he feels like a third wheel. I might try to spring him, but she's pretty adamant about it. I'll probably work Saturday morning. Money is money. It was another crazy morning here again lol, not quite as bad as yesterday, but crazy nonetheless. The cat decided she wanted to go outside again sometime between the time when my brother came in lastnight and the time that my dad left for work this morning. A little bit of good news is that CrushFM will not have to shut down until July 15th rather than May 15th. Hope everyone is having a good day. Actually have had a productive day at work so far.. though my partner wants me to drive over to his house to play the new HALO 3 beta that came out. I should tell him to get back to work. That's the trouble with working from home.. too many distractions. David had his game last night. They lost 1-0. He played really well. ALl the kids did. The grass was so wet that they kept slipping, and the ball hardly ever went where they wanted. I'm doing this a little earlier than usual or else I'm gomna forget to do it lol. Haven't done much today as it's rainy and I've been up since 7:00 a.m. so I'm a bit tired lol. I have a friend in IM that's about to drive me crazier than I already am, because I think he wants me to find him a girlfriend even though he won't come out and say it. I don't think that would work too well though, seeing as he's in Kentucky and my friends are all spread out going to college and such. Besides that, even though he's a nice guy he can be rather annoying and is obsessed with heavy metal and video games so that would probably be the only things he would want to talk about on a date. At least I think it would be if I know him as well as I think I do. I think this has turned into more of a rant, but oh well. Well I think I'll end this here since I'm done whining lol. Just got home from my new Thursday Surgery Clinic. I have to admit I think I am going to like this better. But I had the earliest morning appt at 8:15 and since it is a hour away we left at 7am, as Lyle hates to be late and that is during commute traffic. Hi there all, I hope that you are all doing good today. I am feeling much better today, then yesterday. I am still tired, but my back feels better tonight. It rained all day here, and we under a flood warning like all night, UGH!!!! It is prone to flood here, luckily on the other side of the viaduct and we are on the side that doesn't flood, but our streets get a lot of water on the side of the road. Darryl is coming home tomorrow morning sometime, he has to go to a safety meeting, ugh, then he gets to come home and work on the Omega, as it is the only car that will make it to the city and back. He has his truck, but it sucks about the same amount of gas as the Omega does, maybe a lil more. So he has to fix it. We have to figure out why the alternator belt keeps popping off of the pulley. I drove it down there to pick up the 5th paycheck and all the way there, it drove fine, then on the way back the charge light stayed on, and didn't go off til you turned off the car. Hi all I hope your Thursday is a good one?? Mine has been OK. The mower guys came yesterday and finally mowed our yard! The grass was up to our knees!!! They had to come back today and finish it, so they got done about 8 or so. I paid them and that was that. I can't believe they didn't show up til the 20Th to do our yard! Goodness, had me worried, that is the last thing that we need is a $200 fine for our grass!!!! Well had a busy day, had to pay on our loan, but they got robbed this morning! So going to go pay them tomorrow, and take out money for hubby for the next two weeks! He had a stressful and crummy day! He got a load going to close to Chicago, IL. Well he was supposed to be loaded at around 1pm or so, maybe 3 at the latest, well he didn't get loaded until 7:30 pm!! He called his dispatcher and told them that, and they said OK just get there as soon as you can. Now mind you Darryl had been up all day already, so he started driving, and was gonna lay down for an hour or so. Well

4/12/07: Three years.... Current mood: sad Its hard to believe.. its been three years now since my mother passed away. I feel a little ashamed because I did not remember until I was thinking about my third year anniversary with my job, and those two events will be forever tied together. Three days after I got hired on with my company, I got a call from my aunt saying that after a long battle with cancer, my mother had finally lost her life. That following week was a blur, but I remember a lot of things about it. I don;t really focus too much on that time, even though it was nice to have seen members of my family and the people I grew up, albeit not under good circumstances. I remember getting on the highway on my way out of Flint last night and it hit me when Joe Satriani's "The Forgotten, Part 2" started playing on my mp3 player, which in itself is a sad song... my mother was a wonderful woman, and I remember all of the platitudes that people sad at the funeral services, tha

11/16/06: New Beginnings... Current mood: anxious That was aggravating. As you all who read my blog know, I have this place and Yahoo 360 where I post my blogs. I keep my 360 page because of all of the work I put into it with lists, reviews and the like. I was just posting an entry on 360 when it just vanished. Fortunately I was able to recover most of it, but that kind of burns me up, considering that I am just doing a stream-of-consciousness thing, posting about my feelings and what is going on, and to lose it like that is enough to make we want to tear my hair out. First thing is that after spending a great deal of energy on her and the relationship, Pepper is no longer a part of my life. With one day before her coming up here to live, she flaked out on me, thinking I insulted her somehow. She decided to move to California, instead of honoring her word and my wishes and at least trying to see if things would work out. So much for her saying that she is a slave, and that she loves me and she wishes to serve me. I won;t go so far as to say that she *plays* at being a slave, but in my book if one has made the commitment, you don;t go changing it at the last minute. That in itself hurt, but that pain was compounded by the fact that Danielle also decided to part ways with me after a year. The sun didn't come out until midafternoon here in Minot, but it's getting to be a better season for my nine-year-old nephew Mathew's pee wee ball team; they've won their second straight game, today 13-8. Tuesday's (which had to get rescheduled from last week because a freak rainfall had wet the ground so much) was also a win, 12-7, but I didn't get to see it because it was held in the afternoon. So far, I've been able to get to all the morning games since I don't have to be at work until 10:30 A.M. and they're at eight. After Martha gets out of the hospital next week upon bearing our second child -- can you believe it's less than four days away as I'm writing this? -- she'll be off work at Good Shepherd Day Care for six weeks so she'll be going with us and I expect I'll get to push the double stroller with Sarah on top and our newborn on bottom. Well, Sarah actually likes that one better because she has better back support; I bet she laments her time as the only child in our house

I did find out that my brother will be coming home on July 11th after an entire month in the hospital because of a jet ski accident. We're going up to visit him tomorrow instead of today so that we can finish redecorating his room and do some other things that need done in order for him to come home. I haven't blogged in awhile so I'm way behind lol. Oh well, not much to write about lately anyway. Today, I've just been doing the usual listening to music and chatting on IM with friends. Not really any plans for the weekend other than hopefully going out with a friend on Saturday or Monday if she's available. I might also be getting measured for my bridesmaid dress as well as getting the shoes. I'm so excited to be a bridesmaid again, it's so much fun. Another meeting this morning with a Fire Chief and Deputy Sheriff in a small town near here to create a club for possible first responders within the students of their neighboring high school. And then this afternoon I will be meeting with four teachers and the principal of another high school to speak to them about creating another first responder club at their school. Tomorrow I will be meeting with the regional director of Health and Safety with the American Red Cross to encourage their aid in training for these clubs I am creating for the high schools in my county. I believe that this will be a very worthwhile thing for all the schools and for the students too. It could encourage many students to explore the medical field as potential career choices for their future after high school. And then tonight... another late night budget meeting too. Again... today is filled with meetings... I have 2 this morning at the local high school with 2 different teachers, then I have my Rotary meeting and then this evening I have another meeting in a city 50 miles away where I may not be home until 9 pm or so. And then... tomorrow I get up and drive to the home office to have our monthly staff meeting. Finanlly I plan to have a weekend with NO MEETINGS at all. I hope.

I could not believe we had kids show up until 9:30 last night for Halloween. We even had a woman about 40 years old show up at the door with a bag and she said Trick or Treat. She did not even have a costume on. My husband said she was probably homeless and found this to be a good way to get something to eat even if it was candy. Today I will be heading south to have several meetings with principals, teachers and parents at schools ... one lasting late. I will not be home until 9 or so again tonight. Only 2 more months left in the year and so much to do yet before our fund raising campaign begins in January... Hey hubby... you are going to get it this weekend. To make up for all the time I have been away from home.

It is 5:30 pm here on the west coast and I am only home for a quick dinner and then head out at 6 pm to head 75 miles south to attend another late night meeting. I have another 3 meetings tomorrow... one for lunch with a teacher at the local high school, another meeting with a mother of a boy who wants to help me, and my last meeting tomorrow will be at the local fire station for an emergency training with other adults. But, tomorrow I am going to play a quick round of 9 holes at the local city golf course. I could use whacking some balls around the course with the frustration I have had with all my meetings all weekend long. But the problem will be that it is actually a meeting with a city councilman while we play the round of golf. Cannot even have fun without it being a meeting. Would anyone like to be my caddy in the morning.

Today we are heading south to visit family members in the San Francisco Bay Area... We will be staying in Campbell most of the time and also head out to San Francisco and to Santa Cruz for a trip.
