We are never as in control as we like to think . . . We had this great 10 year old cat named Jack who just recently died. Jack was a great cat and the kids would carry him around and sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap all day long on this mat in our bathroom. Well, we have 3 kids and at the time of this story they were 4 years old, 3 years old and 1 year old. The middle one is Eli. Eli really loves Chapstick. LOVES it. He kept asking to use my chapstick and then losing it. So finally one day I showed him where in the bathroom I keep my Chapstick and how he could use it whenever he wanted to but he needed to put it right back in the drawer when he was done. Last year on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around and try to get ready for church with everyone crying and carrying on. My two boys are fighting over the toy in the cereal box. I am trying to nurse my little one at the same time I am putting on my make-up.

This Past Weekend
this past weekend was really great, me an my ol'man an the kids all went out of town to P.A. for the weekend and we had a really good time. It has probably been about three years since i had been anywhere out of W.V.. This morning I told my supervisor that I was coming to see him. I had finally had it and was throwing in the towel on my emergency medical career. This Week
Another tough week is in the books. I added a poem to my angel series. I meant to write and post it on friday night but I was too tired. For those of you who dont know I work 12 hr shifts on Mon. Wed. and Fri. and then a 4 hr shift on Sat. Mondays and Wednesdays aren't that bad considering I have the following day off but Fridays are tought because I get off at 9pm and have to be back up at work at 9am the next day. Normally on fridays try to be laying down by midnight, which usually works because if the yankees play the game will start around 7 or 7:30 and I'll set my DVR to record it. When I get home I'll start it from the beginning and skipping commericals and stuff have the game done by 11. Well the Yankees are on the west coast so the game didn't start til 10:15pm. Be Careful Walking Behind Cows Short Story by Bruce Currie © 2004 May 20, 2004 The Currie residence was at the corner of the 4th Concession and Duchess Ave. Our maternal Grandparents home was 2 city blocks away at the corner of the 4th Concession and Alice Street. Our Grandma and Grandpa lived ‘next door.’ Grandpa taught me how to milk a cow, when I was very young. Whenever the chance arose, it was great fun to practice the skill. Grandpa’s cow, May, was a beautiful light chestnut specimen, gentle of nature and easy to milk. Our Grandparent’s barn was a little 4-stall affair that had an ever so fun hay mow on the second floor. We kids used to spend an inordinate amount of time in that wonderful little barn ‘getting into mischief,’ as Grandpa used to say.
