Prep Time: 15 min Total Time: 55 min Makes: 8 servings, 1/2 steak each 3/4 cup A.1. It is the most dreaded, expected, feared, and welcomed experience in a comedian's career. It happens in comedy. You go on stage, you tell your funny jokes and stories, and all of a sudden the tumbleweeds start rolling. This finally happened to me. It is very humbling. I could analyse and overanalyse why I bombed until I get blue in the face but nothing changed the fact that I bombed. Well this week for me in my short standup career I had a bad week. First, I blew my set in Baton Rouge and then I did Lucy's last night and bombed. It is a stark and extreme conrast to last week when I nailed it both nights. Bombay Chicken with Apples 'Tis the season for juicy apples, and this Indian-inspired chicken dish puts them to great use. Use your favorite variety, or mix and match red and green! About 4 nights, or mornings, ago, I woke up balling my eyes out. I wrote a mumm that described why this freaked me out. Here's a quick copy: This morning around 4 am, I woke up with tears streaming down my face, coughing like I'd been sobbing a while, and continued to cry, with a deep sense of loss surrounding me. At this time and with a lot of consideration and after talking with Aimme (which has done an exceptionally good job with this bombing family)I think it is time to dissolve the bombing part of this family. I know that everyone started out working very hard but the time has come to close the bomb squad. We have had a very good run for over a year and I have had a lot of fun, and met a lot of very good friends that I care a lot about. But like Aimme said; out side of a few, it is hard to get any one to bomb any more. And with this bouncer check, hell it is even hard just to rate any ones pics, let a lone bomb in a contest. Now I am not saying that in due time I will not start a new bomb squad. Most likely I will, but for now I just think it is best for every one. Yesterday I was me. Confident, hopeful, trusting in the good the future would bring. I had dreams for tomorrow. My life was full of goals. I cared about the people around me and thought my accomplishments mattered. I thought, “Let me do this nice thing…someday my turn will come.” I thought I had made the right choices and done the right things. Today broke me. I feel like the “me” is gone.
