Growing up in a family who has obesity..it was pretty hard. I played basketball for 12 years out of my life from childhood throughout highschool, and then even got into coaching afterwards. And I still was a big girl. Then after graduation, I started putting on weight even more, working at the snack bars wasnt a good idea. lol Had a baby girl in 88..then more weight comes on...I was a single mom with a weight problem & my self esteem was shot to shit. So in 92 I decided to go on a diet..I stuck with it and lost over 120 pounds..believe me some of it wasnt healthy at all..I was borderline belimia..(i know its spelt wrong) then had a baby boy in 93..Which I gained like 60 pounds but lost it like 4 months down the road...then I found out I had a disable child, and after his dad found out that,he left us. Steppin' Up To A Challenge
The chef stepped to me and told me that I have to create a salad and have it ready by 5p.m. Thursday.I'm all the way down for it.I don't feel nervous at all.I figure it's all part of me wanting to expand my cooking knowledge.I'll learn if he or they,meaning all for of the chefs,like it or dislike it.It's all about the process towards the goal,not the goal itself.

Okay,I stayed up till about 2 a.m. and this what I came up with to present to the chefs. I ended up doing two different dishes for the chef.The first was the Coconut Mango Salad, He liked the way it looked but he felt it was missing something in taste.I think the dressing didn't have enough ZING!!! to it. The other dish was the Cucumber Tomato Hamachi Sushimi Cevechi pictured with me and my ego: This one he liked a lot.The thing was that he felt it need different veggies than the ones I used. Over all,I'm cool with his critique and I'm glad I was presented with this challenge on such short notice.Next time,I think he will come with a greater challenge.....bring that shit on.

So I went to go see her yesterday and she does look pretty bad. she's so thin. She doesn't look like herself. We become restless, pace, think, and look outside, searching for answers…..Eventually to sit with pen in hand as we stare into blanked out spaces waiting for the words that will eventually flow. We write for various purposes and in different styles, some words are shared and some held close, personal and/or extremely painfully. If we choose to share our thoughts, we realize that we will touch and relate only to a few, those who have similar thoughts, experiences or spirits somewhat like our own. Thus a writer is neither good nor bad, with his/her words of expression. One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. Last night I stepped down from SER Management and Dj'ing. I think that is one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. Everyone was very supportive of my reasons, and thankfully it is that way...I had a few ppl that thought I was doing it for attention...but what the hell let ppl think what they want, I love my SER family and will still support them, I just needed to do this for my own personal health..sometimes it is so easy to get wrapped up in the Drama on Fubar you forget to take care of what matters most. As some of you already know my stepdad had a stroke last sunday afternoon....he spent 3 days in the nicu in huntsville, alabama....they let him go on wednesday but he didn't come home...he will be in the nursing home for 21 days for physical therapy...right now he is doing a bit better....tuesday he finally remembered who he was.....they said his stroke was caused by some type of stress....we know who caused that stress on him ...unfortunately for a few weeks we thought it was just his alzheimers getting worse and he was having depression...the neurologist and psychologist that saw him at the hospital the other day said it would be hard to tell the difference until he actually does have the stroke or a couple days before when there are more possible signs of one....the weird thing was he just had a heart cath done on the 9th....then on the 12th the stroke....but he is getting better and i want to thank all of for your prayers ....please keep sending the prayers up for us.....

Stevie Nicks Concert
Last night me and a friend went to see Ms. Stevie Nicks at the ZOO Ampitheater in OKC. It had been a life long dream to see her in person and I finally got to go. It seems I was either sick or I had to work. Chris Issak opened and did a 1 hour and 20 minute show that never stopped! He was fabulous and if you have never seen him live, your cheating yourself! Stevie opened up with Stand back and of course, the place erupted! The whole place was lit up like a Christmas tree, lol! I had heard some reviews that were less than favorable, ie voice gone, etc. However, her voice was great and pitch perfect. Not bad for 59 years old. SHe performed anything from "Golddust Woman" to "Seventeen" and the band was really fantastic, they did not disappoint in the least. Two things, her show was 1 hour 40 minutes long and she did not perform a lot of songs. She merely played SEVERAL at length. That was a terrible diappointment for me after waiting so long to see her. I was over seeing Steven today, he is doing amazingly good. He is finished his chemo treatment for now but due to go back in 3 months time to the hospital for a check up to see if the cancer is still dormant. As you can see from the photo his hair is starting to grow back as well and he is putting on weight again. The district nurse still comes in everyday to give him an injection to help to control his potassium levels.

On August 20,2008 a very dear friend of mine was killed in a work accident while working at AMTRAK. Steve or better known to us as "Spkie" was only 22. He was hit by a train while working on the track and dies 2 hours later at the hospital. I can not believe he is gone. Through his viewings and his funeral, I was thinking to myself, "Is this actually happening?" Spike was the best guy you could ever meet. He fit in with everyone and made all those who knew him feel like a million bucks. He was wise and loving, and would do anything for anyone. You couldn't find a better person or friend. It took me all of 30 seconds how to get around it. 1) Find a contest that you want to comment bomb 2) Open 3 seperate windows and post your sparkle tag or what ever in the 3 windows. 3) Move back to the contest and put a letter or something in the comment window and hit ok.. Now you have reset the spam filter and redo steps 2 and 3 and so on... Or just after every 3rd comment comment on someones picture and say nice or something.. to reset it.. The spamblock just prevents you from leaving the same txt or combination there of in 4 consecutive msg's no matter where they are on the site.. This morning dad went to some sort of surgery. It took a few hours. I killed time reading my book outside of the hospital. They finally called me in saying the surgery was done. It was kind of odd seeing him laying there with tubes all all around him. Made me think about the times I've seen my cousin Heidie in the hospital in the past. The doc explained to me what happened and what to look out for. Dad did fine, other than being real light headed, nauseous and pale looking. He's scheduled for a X-ray next week. 1st grade Proverbs A first grade teacher had twenty-five students in her class and she presented each child in her class the first half of a well known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insight may surprise you. A first-grade teacher, Ms. Brooks, was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked, "Brian, what's your problem?" The little Cornhusker answered, "I'm too smart for the 1st grade. My sister is in the 3rd grade and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in the 3rd grade too!" Ms. Brooks had had enough. She took Brian to the principal's office. While Brian waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the principal what the situation was. The principal told Ms. Brooks he would give the boy a test. If he failed to answer any of his questions he was to go back to the 1st grade and behave. She agreed. Brian was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test.
