Potted Weekend
The weekend always whizzes by at a frightening rate but when James is home it's even quicker. So here I am, 3pm on Monday afternoon wondering where it went!! My hubby heads back to the continent on Wednesday and he's just gone to visit his Mum so I figured I'd slip a quick blogular under the radar. Poutine!!!!!!
Poutine (pronounced putsɪn) makes 4 side servings or 2 main servings 4 large russet potatoes oil for deep frying salt 2 cups beef stock 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup flour 1 1/2 cups cheese curds 1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thick fries (at least 1 cm thick). 2. Soak the potatoes in ice water for about 30 minutes. Remove and drain well. 3. Heat oil for frying to about 325F and deep fry potatoes for about 8 minutes. 4. Remove from oil and set on paper towel. Turn the oil up to 375F. 5. In a saucepan melt the butter and stir in the flour. Add the beef broth and stir over medium-high heat until thickened. Reduce heat and keep hot. (I use a tiny bit of gravy browning to get that nice dark colour). 6. Return the french fries to the oil and continue frying until golden and crispy. This should take about 5 more minutes. I took a cold shower today. Not because I needed to cool off, but because we couldn't pay the gas bill and the gas company cut us off from hot water and stove. I live in a small house on the poor side of town. Mine and my spouse's incomes combined add up to about $30,000 a year. Needless to say, it's a real struggle just to get by. A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. All the other frogs gathered around the pit. tonight at around 8pm pst we tripped the breaker on 2 power circuits inside our colo facility (where all the cherrytap servers live). this killed about a dozen of our computers, and i had to go into the colo to get them back online. if it hadn't taken out our network equipment, the site probably would have survived and you would have never known... but jesus hates me, so of course the important stuff took the blows. :-) site should be stable now... im getting drunk. peace out! -mike

I now seem to have the right team of people to help me out with the site, Jenny from New York who i have worked with before has come back to me and is helping to tame the monster that drupal coding is, by upgrading the site and attaching an ecommerce sit and CRM capabilities so we can sell the posters etc. Marc who is good with php and also Dave, Jenny is great at specifics whereas I just fall at the first hurdle, so fixing up access and once that is done it should be thunderbirds are go. The only snag about working with people all over the place is the time zones, but its all good fun and games.

So I got a call from my BFF (Miss Brittany ) today saying that she went to the doctor to get her hand checked out and to see if she is going to need surgery for her carpel tunnel. It turns out she only has Tendinitis as she will just need Physical therapy. So she leaves a little earlier than expected and she has 30 minutes to spare. She was in Beverly Hills so she happens to walk by a Roberto Cavalli boutique and next thing you know, within 30 minutes she spends $9000.00 (That's nine thousand dollars for those people who think I it was a typo.) A dress, a purse, shoes, a blouse, and a pair of jeans. WOW!!! I was totally shocked. That must have made a salesperson day. Same blog is posted at MissBrittany page

Power Engineering - South Australia's Largest Wind Farm

This is where our oldest son Kirk is now working...helping to erect these windmills used for electricity in S. Australia. He is really enjoying working there. I've seen picts. of these from sites out in Calif. where they use wind powered electricity. Kirk said that it takes something like 9 yrs. for these things to run, before they ever start producing the amt. of electricity needed. What a day...... For one day, you think there would be no stress in our lives, but to our dismay it eventually just appears. I wrote this story for my best friend after confessing to her that my verbally abusive wife had finally pushed me over the edge and I had met someone who I was supposed to see later that week. My friend confessed a somewhat similar situation. She then told me how Cherry Tap gave her an outlet for her sexual frustrations. Power Outage

Powerful? Or An Invertebrate?
Someone whose nym I will not mention here posted this in my comments a few days back: Now she's sent a shout that she's joined a family, and it has a "master" (oooooh, scary. NOT.) who has ordered her to block everyone (see The Advanced Bonewits’ Cult Danger Evaluation Frame, or ABCDEF for short, to figure how how abusive a fubar "family" like that is.) So she cried and she pleaded but she obeyed. Personally, I don't call that powerful... I call that wimping out and surrendering power. I will admit I misjudged her... she is far less powerful than I ever thought she was. Watch it joining "families" on fubar... some of them seem to be established for the purpose of preying on people who have low self-esteem.

Power Of Prayer
Two days ago my family was gathered at the hospital,they had taken my dad off the ventilator but, he couldn't breath on his own.They put him back on it and read him his last rights. My mom had almost given up she just didn't know what to do but us kids said don't give up yet. My mom has been staying at my house threw all this. It was a long night and for me and mom pretty much a sleepless night.We were driving to the hospital early Tues morning when my sister call my mom from the hospital,my dad was off the ventilator, sitting up in bed and talking to my sister. Although he was not making a lot of sense he was breathing on his own. Only 10 hours earlier he had been given last rights.Today they moved him to CCU into his own room and has a lot of the tubes out of him. We are still waiting on the results to see if they got all of the cancer but today he is here, still pretty sick and in the hospital but, alive. That's one reason my dad is my hero and why i believe in prayers. to be cont.

Queensland is on the Eastern side of Australia and is currently battling floods. The floods started before christmas and are continuing as i write this. So far over 75% of Queensland has been affected.
