Since this time last year, the Florida Gators have won the National Championship in both Basketball and Football, marking the first time in NCAA history that the same school has accomplished this feat. This past Sunday, the Gators made history once again. So I go to drink my liquid lunch, as is habit for me to survive where I work, and all the talk is about the NCAA. In the elevators, at the bar I frequent (they call me Norm) and on the way back on the radio. I mean, seriously, I digress, back to a previous rant... we give way too much credit to players who happen to have been given the Hulk injection at the age of 12 to coaches who become used car salesman after they get fired. Nobody knows more about sports than I do, leave it at that! LOL! There is nothing more nauseating after two bloody mary's than to have to sit in an elevator with suits mouthing off about who has the best free throw average... and be WRONG! I have seen it all now, take me up. Oh, and to be a fucking hypocrite, GO REBELS!

Ncaa Tournament Time
Nothing like a little hoops and beer to get the day started off right. This has been a little ritual of mine since I reached the age of reason. Ahhhh.....the first day of the NCAA tournament. Memories that are sure as hazy as the guy smoking a little weed the night before. Used to, I would have to take a pair of vacation days just to sit back, relax and enjoy the fruits of my labor. But now, with two straight days off without having to waste that precious vacation time, it's amazing how much better the beer taste, and it goes down even smoother than before. So here's a toast to all of you ecletic early risers, a beer in one hand, and hopefully a widescreen HDTV in front of you!

Ncaa Men's Big Dance-part I
Well it is March Madness. In sports, it's like Christmas in spring time with four days of college basketball and upsets possible in every game. I picked the Univ. Of North Carolina to win it all. I have UNC, Duke, Uconn and Loiseville in my Final Four. In Round 1, I am 25 for 33 games so far. That means I am 75% at correctly picking winners, and that is about how I do every year. I correctly picked the upset by Western Kentucky over Illinois. Living near the Univ. Of Arizona, everyone here was picking them to do well. I picked them to lose to Utah, but they didn't. The upstate rival Arizona State won its game too. My major bracket buster was picking West Virginia to get to the Elite Eight. WVU got knocked out by Dayton. I hope I do better over today and tomorrow.

To recap, I correctly picked 25 of the first 33 games in Round 1 plus the Play-In Game. That is a 76%. In Round 2, I correctly picked 12 of 16 games. (75% for the round and 76% overall.) In Round 3, I correctly picked 4 of 8 games. (50% for the Sweet 16 and 72% overall.) In Round 4, I correctly picked 2 of 4 games. (50% for the Elite Eight and 70% overall.) My Final Four are/were UNC, Duke (now out), UConn and Louisville (now out). The true Final Four are UNC, UConn, Michigan State and Villanova. I am still picking UNC to win it all.

The 2009 Ncaa Men's Basketball Tournament-part Iii
Well I correctly picked the University of North Carolina winning the whole tournament. Overall, I was 70% correct in my picks. I did really well with the Play-In-Game, Round 1 and Round 2. I fell apart with Rounds 3 through 5. Locally, I was suprised that the University of Arizona got to the Sweet 16 since they had a pretty so-so regular season. Anyone thats a fan of the show, might have seen last nights episode Royals and Loyals. When I was in California they shot this episode using the ship I was working on as a backdrop in a few scenes and some onboard footage. Some of our scaffolding and construction is in view at one point. The irony here is, in the story the ship is a british vessel, and is portrayed being ported in Norfolk, which is pretty close to home, but was actually shot 3000 miles away, where I just happen to be at the time lol. A little extra kicker, about 18:19 into the show, the door that the suspect walks out of (posed as a storage depot) is actually a vending machine area that I frequented several times a day.

Well as many of you know I have started a new job this week. For the next two months I will basically be 'in school'. That is going to require a lot of time and effort to do the things necessary to pass the exams. It was my second day at work.. and another busy day. With the new staffing grid at work..we never have the extra help we need. August 25, 2006, 10:36:pm Some people may ask "Why in the heck would you allow yourself to get so fat!?", Well I guess I'll answer that tonight. Its called depression. Low self esteem. Loosing all hope. Being out of your mind with grief over the loss of loved ones. Surviver of abuses. And many many other reasons. Each purrson has their reasons why they get fat. I've listed some of mine only. Did I want to get fat? No. It happened though. I've always struggled with my weight. I wasn't a blimp, even though it felt like it. I can't remember a time in my life, other then when I came out of the Army, that people were encouraging concerning my wieght. The only time I can honestly say I remember a positive comment was from my grandmother, as I gained about 20 lbs after army. She said I looked fantastic. I actually may have it in some form! 1 in 20 people does have sleep apenea. Ya never know, if your a snorer, go tell your doctor! Snoring is one of the major telling signals (not everyone that snores has sleep apnea, but go get yourself checked just to be safe.) Sleep apnea for the most part is where your tongue etc slides back and blocks your airway so you actually stop breathing for 10 to 90 seconds! It can happen 100's of times a night too! Sooo, Are ya ready to cringe yet folks? No need to, its a good day lmao. My infection is nearly gone (still seeping some slightly poisoned blood but its getting a better red and not bleeding as much since it "exploded" and its not much swelled) and my fever finally broke yesterday leaving me weak but getting better quicker whohooo, my head cold is nearly gone and I think I have figured out some of the problem with me being so sick so much lately. Don't really have much to tell as of this point. I have my 5th weigh in either this week or next then there is only 1 more to go. Sure has been a long wait. Its been a week full of ups and downs emotionally but I'm healing good physically. I'm going through the issue of missing foods now. I know its only for a couple/few months or so but its still a pita when all around you everyones eating what your craving. Oh well, I gotta do what I gotta do. I just wish the foul moods would stop. I've been cranky a lot cause its so stressful in this house. Does not make a pleasant recovery or ease things when adjusting to such drastic diet changes. So I'm on whats called stage 2 diet. Heres a break down of what I'm allowed. Fair warning this is one of my long ones but this time its due to showing samples of what I'm allowed to eat etc, not my normal babblings. 4 cups of water or other sugar-free beverage each day, to be drank only between meals. Allowed things like the sugar free popcicles etc between meals too. 4 small meals a day. Must have 2 children's chewable vitamins. The vitamins are important because of the fact this diet doe

These last few days ive been thinking about human emotion. Pretty boring topic i know, but perhaps the one person that reads this wont mind. Well, I got the call. I officially have a 2nd interview w/the Kingsport Police Department. If you are one of my work references, get ready cause you will most likely get called on now. I was processed just as criminals are, photo taken, fingers printed (make that ALL ten of them) and they are gonna run a background and credit check on me. HAHA on the credit check considering I just filed bankruptcy. I have no idea what the hell they are doin it for. Mark seems to think to find out if any judgements for money are against me. This weekend is our annual Indian Days Celebration. There is a Pow-Wow with over $90,000.00 in prize money as well as a rodeo, softball tourney, 3 on 3 b/ball, and music festival. There is already tons of people in town for the festivities! I'm excited since I can finally scope out some new meat, tired of the same old scene! 2nd Neurologist Visit
I had my second visit with the neurologist yesterday. He said my MRI showed no signs of MS but did show a bulging disk in my neck. He said it's possible that we may never find an exact cause for the migraines and all we can do is try to control them. In the time from my last appointment to this one which was roughly 18 days I had 3 migraines and had to go and get a pain shot, which alarmed him at the amount/frequency of headaches I have. He increased my Topamax to 100mg twice a day and I have to return to him in one month. I'm still able to take the Stadol nose spray for severe headaches to try and keep me from having to get a pain shot, so that's a plus. Thanks to all those who worry about me. I ♥ you all. MUAH

So I called the pain clinic this morning to let them know that I wasnt feeling any better over all & that my left side actually hurts worse. The nurse casually says "Yea, most of the time the first ones will increase pain & not do much" Im like HUH!? You knew it would make it worse but you didnt tell me?! UGH!So anyway, she went on to say that 50% of patients get real relief after the 2nd set, but if they do not, they dont bother with the 3rd. OK... so now 2nd injections are scheduled for August 8th! I guess going to this appt is going to depend solely on what the surgeon says Friday the 2nd. If anyone reading has had these injections in the S1 L5 nerves I would love to hear your results!!! 2nd Try
Just....things.... First game of the season is today. For the first time in 8 years of coaching this team I am nervous. Mostly because I really think THIS could be the year. I got some BIG kids this year. Good ones too! First time ever that I have options for almost all positions and two pitchers that seem to be lights out. Crossing my fingers! 22nd Wedding Anniversary
Hello everyone! The wife and I just celebrated our 22nd Anniversary this past weekend. We went camping of all things to do. We had to hike about 1000 yards with a dolly to reach the camp site. We were second guessing ourselves up until the point that the sun went down. We brought in our anniversary at mid-night by laying totally naked outside holding hands looking at the lake and stars. A very nice constant breeeze was blowing that we allowed to kiss every part of our body. When we woke up the next morning I made coffee and breakfast burritos to start the day off. The 2nd Worst Day I Have Had.

2nd Wrap Today
I did a wrap on my belly on Saturday. I was 39 1/2" around my gut. I did the wrap on myself, and in 45 mins, I was 38" around. Today, 72 hours later, is time for wrap #2. Near Death
A 45 year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near death experience. Seeing God she asked "Is my time up?" God said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live." Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy tuck. Yes... I said nearly impossible... as in... nearly impossible to get a hold of for the next few days... I have been working on getting over a horrid head cold the past few days... over extending myself everyday too... But in a little over 5 hours I have to be up for the day... and it will start an exhausting schedule for me. ok, maybe not so much. I came in to work, and my 2nd shifter told me that the maintenance guy was about to go home, but decided to doublecheck the electrical room. Well, he found that...a heater for a swimming pool was on friggin fire! Not only that, but it was right next to the gas valves for the fireplace in the lobby. Near Death Experiences And Close Calls
After almost getting rearended hard this morning in the county in which I live, it has shook me up to a point where I am appreciating life a lot more and wanting to live everyday like it is my last day on this earth because this close call really shook me up to a point to where I want to get life insurance, that is for damn sure. I figured the head on car accident that I had on Aug. 23rd, 1995 would do this but instead it's the close call that my girlfriend and I had this morning! So a couple weeks ago I went to one of my peeps house, got some things, n stayed the nigh. So I woke up at like noon new I had to take off, had to make it back across Tx dirty, so I left. As it turns out a min or two after I left the cops kicked in the door to my friends house, n took folks to jail. Started out intending on riding 50 miles, but decided to go see my mother at Boswell Rehab instead. My route was close to the facility, so it wasn't out of my way. Nebraska’s Safe haven law Okay, so here is the way the law was designed: when a young mom, new mom, or a mom who can not take care of her newborn wants to just give up her baby, she can only if she knows that the baby is going to be harmed in anyway, hence not going to be taken care of properly. I guess first before a baby is taken, the mom will have to go through counceling and then decide if she wants the baby or not. When law makers designed the law, originally, though(in July the law was passed), it was meant for infants and not for the older children to be abandoned at the hospitals. All my tats are easily coverable and I like it that way because I work in a professional environmental and plan to continue to do so. Right now I have shorter hair so I can't put it up in a ponytail. Something I haven't told many in here ... some of my friends know. I have had 2 major accidents in the past 12 years and my last surgery really messed up my neck. I get really bad headaches, and sometimes can't even get up out of the bed .. anyways I am not whinning or complaining .. I am very grateful to be alive! The purpose of this blog is to address my concerns about some misconceptions and my feelings towards such a controversial subject. Personally, I do not pay much credence and in all honesty, am not at all interested in learning any more than I had to in the past to understand such. Tolerance is what I preach so tolerance is what I must practice as well. The Necronomicon originated as a fictional book in the works of H.P. Lovecraft, and grew into an extended literary in-joke as other horror writers organically added to the Cthulhu mythos. According to Lovecraft, it was written by Abdul Alhazred, 'a mad Arab poet of the Yemen', in 950 A.D. in Damascus. In many of the stories written by Lovecraft and his successors, merely reading or possessing the Necronomicon leads to insanity ...or worse.
