They Are Worse Than Street Whores
The other day, I had a chick new to Fubar come to my page asking me to send her a friend request. One, I don't understand why she couldn't just save time and send the request her damn self, but whatever. Damn! I never had street hookers come at me like these point-chasing whores on Fubar. Hookers will mainly stand in their spot and wait for men (or women) to come to them. These point-chasing whores on Fubar come at you with nothing to give, but want you to give them everything they want. Is that all Fubar is about? Point chasing? Where's the happy hour?

The Dark Knight
After being blown away by Batman begins i came into this with high expectations.After watching this i came to realize this movie oblierated the last and all other superhero films to date except iron man[personal fav].The performances were just amazing and every actor gave oscar type performances especially the late Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart.The movie had some surprisng twists and turns for a movie of the genere.When it ended i was wanting more. Being a comic fan for sometime the movie gave me the purest batman vs joker film to date.This one time a movie has far excede its original by leaps and bounds.Their were touching moments and suspence.The best way to describe it is that it is beyond the genere of superhero and more into the vein of a regular top notch crime suspence with some theatrics thrown in. Id give this a 5 out 5 stars [well worth price of admission]

Growing Old, But Never Growing Up
Current mood: pensive I have many memories of fun that I had with my kids when they were small.. and being told that I should "grow up". well, if growing up means being serious all the time, and not splashing in puddles, or not being able to sing silly songs, then I will never grow up. I like giggling like a silly teenager over stupid human tricks.. I like surprising people with my antics and my silly jokes. I like still being amazed at the beauty around me. I like dancing to rock 'n' roll music in a public place and having people look at me as though I've lost my mind. I like doing the Hokey-Pokey with the kids I work with. I like it when they say to me, "Miss Gidget, you're so silly!" I like being young at heart.

I'm hurting immensely at the moment, one of the best friends I've had since I moved to this area is pissed at me, and I may have lost her friendship. Is it sad that losing her friendship hurts more than losing my wife? To make matters worse it wasn't over anything all that big, it was a misunderstanding about how I phrased a sentence. "vieilles Charrues" Festival
this is a music festval, somewhere in middle in Brittany, and i was used to go there because it was a space of freedom; all was "cool", people were smiling, enjoying all, partying, supporting the ones getting sick because too much drink, and so.. This past Saturday night (20 July) was spent with a few friends with whom I haven't spent much time with in recent memory---Charlie, Adam, and Jenna. The Miracle Of Death
19 July 2008 I've never lived a day without my mom until today. At 4 AM this morning my mother died. Her death comes some 82 odd years after her birth. While I wasn't there at 4, I was there until 3 and I'm convinced had I stayed with her through the night, she wouldn't have left my side. My guess is she needed her space and, like most mothers, didn't want to burden her son. The irony is near the end of her life when she needed my time and attention the most, she was nothing like the imposition I felt she had always been before. Instead, she was a blessing. And, she was the most beautiful I ever recall her being, save perhaps her wedding day (as illustrated in my photo section). The parallels of birth and death have never been more apparent than in this process and the beauty of birth is the best illustration I can give of the beauty I've mentioned I see in her death. Heading To Louisiana
I am leaving Monday morning (21st) to head down to Baton Rouge to visit with my parents for a week. My mom is having open heart surgery and I want to be there. Hopefully all will go well, this is a pretty common operation nowadays. She has 1 collapsed valve and one that is leaking, so she is getting a stint and a new valve. I just got back from San Francisco...I fought/sparred and got 2nd place. I am sitting here icing my left foot cause for some reason it is all swollen and black and blue..this is the opposite foot of my bad ankle..ugh. Am I Not A Good Person?
So, Am I not a good person? I deeply believe I am, but I guess few others do. It's another Saturday night I am spending alone. I know I am somewhat to blame. I am a bit shy. So, now that all my medical issues a re resolving themselves, I decided that my life needs a new direction. So, apparently, word has spread of my "expertise with weird carcass disposal methods. Thursday, I received a phone call from a friend in the university's Department of Occupational and Environmental Services. He knew of my work with my radioactive rats, and wanted my opinion on how to dispose of something. I went over to his office to see what was up. Apparently, another lab had some animals they needed to dispose of, but they were of a "special" nature. They were woodchucks, but not just your normal, garden-variety woodchucks. Oh no, that would have been too easy. This lab had been experimenting with woodchuck hepatitis, which apparently (my new favorite word) acts very similar to human hepatitis. This made the carcasses biohazardous waste, which, in and of itself, isn't an issue. They were also contaminated with Carbon-14, a slightly radioactive isotope with a half-life of around 5000 years. Well, another week down. I have been staying extremely busy at work. I have not even taken lunch but a couple days this week. Go to the chow hall, grab food, sit eat, go back to work. Today took my car in for an oil change or I should say tried to. I was kayaking the other day and I had this less than brilliant idea to buy a road racing bike (I had one years ago and loved it then sold it because I'm a dumbfuck.) So I've been looking at bikes and I really haven't the slightest clue as to what I want. The best I can come up with is fast and not expensive. I might buy something retro just because I would really like to win races on something that costs less than all the other competitors. Crane Accident At A Chemical Plant
For those of you who keep up with the news, especialy in and around the Houston ,TX. area. There was a major crane accident at my dads work. The worlds 2nd largest crane was being built in front of my dads auto shop, when today he was working on a van and he heard a loud pop and looked up and seen the boom of the crane was crashing down in his direction. He ran for his life trying to get out of harms way, not knowing if he could get out of reach from the 420 foot boom.when it hit another crane and redirected its path away from him and several other co workers. There as of this time are four dead and several injured. A friend of mine posted a MuMM asking if everyone online is fake, or if there are real people out there. I left a lengthy comment on the MuMM and have decided to carry it over to a blog. I think the internet gets a bad rap when it comes to whether the people who spend their time in chat forums are real or fake. Everyone is real, obviously, but not everyone is telling the truth. People can lie just as easily in person as they can over the internet, in my opinion (and experience). It may be easier and take less time to prove or disprove the lie in person though. Some people get online purely for entertainment. Lean Pocket Recall: Latest in a Series of Food Risks by Staff Thousands of a chicken-stuffed Lean Pockets are being recalled because the microwaveable food may contain plastic pieces, the U.S. government said. Nestle Prepared Foods Co. in Mount Sterling, Ky. is recalling about 200,000 pounds of frozen stuffed chicken sandwich products after the company received consumer complaints, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a news release. The recalled products are 9-ounce boxes of Lean Pockets Spinach Artichoke Chicken -- 2 sandwiches with a Best Before date of Nov 2009 followed by a package code beginning 8144 544616. Also printed on the side of the package is the establishment number P7721A. The line being recalled was produced May 23 and distributed to retail stores nationwide, the FSIS said. The federal food watchdog agency said it hasn't received any consumer complaints but did note two injuries were reported to the company.

So last night was a fiasco. Not the move so much. That all went well the compuiters all got there in one piece in and everything got set up with only minor hitches. My boss had made reservations on Thursday during the day for all of us to have dinner at a restaurant across the street from the new building.
