Are we losing America a piece at a time??? Every now and then I see something that bothers me as a person and as an American. There have been numerous occasions over my life span where I just couldn’t remain silent. This is just one of them. Recently I read about a restaurant in Philadelphia where the city council ordered the owner to remove a sign that read "Only English spoken here". He doesn’t have the right to put a sign like that up on his property, or does he? I really do not know any more what rights will be left to us. Maybe the owner knows only English. dunno if anyone reads these...guess it dont matter anyway this one is taking up space. yesterday at work i saw one of the rudest customers...and ive had my fair share of unruly customers (usually i chalk it up to that they had a bad day and let it slide) but this guy was probably the worst. The cashier checking him out said the line that we usually have to say "the carts dont go outside we'll have someone carry out for you". And usually the customers give one of two reactions...either they feel embarrassed for doing the wrong thing and felt like they should've known (i dont blame them there isnt a sign posted up stating the rules), or the act like its the most ridiculous thing they have ever heard. well this couple gave both. Cailin Is Back From Er
Ok, Saturday morning my right eye was absolutely killing me. It hurts so bad that I literally cried so much that I can barely talk! All right, guys, quit pumping your arms and saying "YES!" Anyway, after battling the parents to take me to the ER, I finally drove mom's car to Terry's. I walked in, he looked up at me, asked if I had been to the doctor's yet, and when I said no and started crying, he grabbed his keys and away we went. After 3 hours, a tetnus shot, a shot of Dilaudid, Phengren and Torodol, 10 minutes of getting my eye flushed, numbed and cleaned, I was released. I still can't see out of that eye. Its all a blur! If it hasn't cleared by tomorrow, I am to make an emergency visit to a specialist downtown. The abrasion is so severe that the doctors at ER have scared me to death about the possibility that it may never heal properly because of the level of scar tissue that could develop. Surgery Update
Ok I have always been an open, honest person. I can only be me so that is what you are going to get with this update. July 31- I arrived at the hospital accompanied by my dearest friend in the world at 6 am. Signed in and was called back rather quickly. Finished the remaining prep and paperwork. My fiancee arrived just moments before they whisked me back to surgery..(he had a bit of trouble because of the downpour of rain and thankfully was not hurt). I only remember going down the hall and entering room where the surgery was to be done. They moved me from the gurney to the operating table and I was asleep soon after. I woke up in the recovery room, asked for pain medication and went right back to sleep. I arrived in my room. My fiancee, best friend, mom and my best friend's husband were there as well as nurses getting me settled. I honestly felt surrounded by love. Found out that they were able to do the hysterectomy as planned. It was only a partial, so no lifelong meds :)

I don't get Red Sox fans. They claim they are fiercely loyal, but they turn on their players in a heartbeat. Case in point, Manny Ramirez. Sleep Over And Cook Out!
The girls had a busy weekend. Friday evening they went over to Tash's t-ball coaches house and went swimming, watched movies and had a sleep over. They had a blast. Tash overcame her fear of going down the slide and then wouldn't stop. Then she decided to start diving from the side of the pool into a floaty. Lexi had a blast as well. She had had her mammogram, done a few weeks back, and it came back abnormal~ She was set up for a biopsy on the following Tuesday.. We went back to the doctor on Tuesday July 29th.. Where we got the news that every family dreads~ It was confirmed she had Breast Cancer~ She has seen the Chemo Doctor and is now waiting to see the Radioligist.. The Chemo doctor say she has the Evasive Ductal Carsinoma~ So she will now have to have a Bone Scan, Cat Scan & MRI, to insure, that it hasn't spread any where else.. Thank God, she has always, gone for Mammograms yearly and on time. (Unlike her daughter) SO it is the early stage~ So our Hopes are high and our Prayers are steadfast... Needless to say~ I am now sheduled for a Mammogram... I was once always real faithful too about having them done, until the last 3 years... But works just seems to get in the way of those things

Ogunquit
Had a last-minute get away to Ogunquit on the Maine Seacoast. We stayed at the most bizarre little inn right on Beach Street in a room overlooking the estuary. Though the view from our window was quite to my liking, the accommodations were a bit offbeat. When I booked the room I was told it had it's own private bathroom--but it was just across the hall, not in the room. So I was prepared for that. We checked in--filling out our name, address and credit card information on a lined index card, and were given the keys from room 8. We climbed the stairs and find ouselves looking at 3 old fahioned oak panneled doors--all emblazoned with a brass numeral eight. Behind the first door we opened we found a tiny little closet just big enough to house a toilet. The next door opened into yet another closet that housed nothing but a shower stall. Wishing that it was Monday right now. I still have two more days of work left. This weekend is going by so damn slow. Monday, after work, I plan on going to Adorn to check out tattoos. I have a couple in mind. I'm hoping that I can get a tattoo on one of my days off. My Trip
I just came to realization that it will be less than a year when we will start getting ready to put our place back on the market in order to go on a voyage, AKA work program to Europe. The idea is pretty much to travel indefinitely until we run out of moneys. The fact that we will have jobs will make it possible to extend the trip for over a year or more, we'll see. The main chunk of it will be in Scotland, where the work prog is originated, but planning to stay in Russia for a coupla months (my friend there is gonna try to hook me up with a govt translator job-she is a cop in Moscow) since we will stay with my Gramps, in Israel for the same amount of time (staying with my great aunt, and will apply for a civ IDF position), Germany for a while (staying with my cousin in Berlin). A Cry To Grandma
A maze of hallways leads me to a room. Where melted faces stare, from a memory of a dream. I hear a whisper, "You don’t have to enter." Shaking, I walk in, see white. Death surrounds me. When I look at her body, my heart shatters, and I cry. I leave to see my mom crying. outside the hospital room. A numbness takes over my body. I shut my eyes and see the dream, her head wrapped in red stained bandages of white. The beginning of the heartless zone I am entering. I let no feelings exit, enter. Finally Home
Unfortunately vacation is over... What a great week. I'll go into more details at a time when I am not brain dead :). But the trip in short was as follows.. A wonderful week on the Outer Banks... Pretty much perfect weather with rain only at night except for a short shower early in the week. Temps in 80s and 90s. Water was chilly, but clear and for the most part calm. There were 17 of us between the 2 houses. My 20 month old nephew kept me busy all week :). There were 4 generations of us there. David barely got out of the water. :) We climbed the dunes 2 times. Now these are not ordinary dunes. The height constantly changes but they are often 100 feet high or more. If you want a workout, go climb them.. or try to run up them :). Raced gokarts a few times. Saw the new batman movie. Ate way too much. We always build some unique things on the beach... always something BIG. What Is Depression ???
It means many things to many people. To me it is the misalignment of that which we desire to be or have, and that which society says we should desire to be or have. Yes this is just one form of depression I know. When I was depressed it was due to the fact that I knew what my life was and knew it wasn't what it should be. Through counselling and alternative therapies I determined that I was living the life society told me I should live, but in my heart, I knew it wasn't necessarily the way it should be. I did not take medication to assist me in my disorder. I made changes to my life. And, whilst the stress of the change and making people understand my need for change is great. I would have it no other way. A year after making some huge changes, including ending my marriage and taking the step of becoming a single mother, I do not have any regrets and I see the beautiful light at the end of the tunnel of darkness. Swimming In Darkness

Lola, who has always been healthy as can be for the most part, happy, playful, and content (and who got clean bill of health at my former vet, dammit!) was diagnosed w/ end-stage renal failure this morning. basically, her kidneys are destroyed and meaningless meat hanging suspended in her body. i thought she was merely a bit dehydrated, and stayed up w/ her all night, giving her Pedialyte every hour. i took a nap cuz i hadn't slept, and just got up, and of course i dreamed bad stuff. she's in the top 3 sweetest cats i've ever met (and i've met a lot of felines -- human bitches excluded;p). poor little thing. they're keeping her 3 days to flush out the kidneys. if the kidneys respond to the dialysis, she'll come home and have around a few months to a year to live, with proper care. if not, i am going to put her at rest tuesday. :( i've had pets die, of course, but never had to put one down. but it's the right thing to do for her. selfish not to.

Another Important Milestone
Well, guess what? Yeah....Now I am under 40 days. I have 37 days left. 26 days till I start clearing post. I have been busy, but took a 4 day pass this past weekend. I went to the pool on Sunday, and OH DAMN! did I get burned. I got baked, deep fried, and then toasted. Luckily I had two days to heal a bit before I had to be back at work, but it wasn't much. I have started on my second bottle of Aloe already, and yes, I did put on Sunscreen, but guess that the stuff they give out at the pool is not as effective as what I buy at the PX. Wow! I Feel So Much Lighter Now!!!
Last night I went through my "friends" list and deleted 153 fake friends. Dead wood. Friend collectors. Whatever you want to call them. There was a few more that I was considering, but I decided to give them a little more time. To be fair....I looked at how long it has been that they have been on my friends list, how often they have visited me (never), if they have ever returned the favor of rating anything of mine (nope), if they ever gave me a shout (nope) or if they even cared if I existed (nope again). I understand that we all get busy in life, work, or just bored sitting on the computer sometimes. But friends will let you know that you are not being ignored.....they just have stuff going on. Most that were deleted last night were people who have been on my "friends" list since '06 and '07 and I never hear from them. They won't miss me anyway........ Scots airbase 'safe until 2050' RAF Leuchars will see the arrival of the Eurofighter The future of RAF Leuchars, in Fife, has been secured for the next 40 years, the base commander has said. Air Commodore Clive Bairsto, also said up to £100m would be invested there over the next decade. RAF Leuchars, along with Coningsby, in Lincolnshire, will accommodate the RAF's new Eurofighter, which will start to replace the Tornado in 2010. It would secure the jobs of about 1,500 air force personnel at the base as well as 200 civilian staff and contractors. Air Commodore Bairsto said three squadrons, each containing 16-18 pilots, would be moving to Fife. Leuchars, he added, would continue to operate as a fighter base up to 2050. About £80-£100m is to be spent on rebuilding the station for the new aircraft. The Typhoon was also described as being "much quieter" during take-off and landing than the Tornado, which is scheduled to go out of service in March 2011.

Over past few days I conducted a short experiment to see what its like to be a woman in here. And I must say I never went the whole hog, Im still a guy the operation was cancelled last minute :P However, with the help of three gorgeous girls who were REALLY great sports and allowed me to use their default pics, I managed to have an insight into what its like.
