Pasta With Marinara Sauce And Grilled Vegetables
Ingredients 2 Tbs. olive oil 10 large fresh tomatoes, peeled and diced 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. minced garlic 2 Tbs. chopped onion 1 Tbs. chopped fresh basil or 1 tsp. dried 1 tsp. sugar or sugar substitute 1/2 tsp. oregano Black pepper, to taste 2 red peppers, sliced into chunks 1 yellow summer squash, sliced lengthwise 1 zucchini, sliced lengthwise 1 sweet onion, sliced into 1/4-inch wide rounds 8 oz. pkg. of whole wheat spaghetti Directions Heat oil in a heavy skillet. Add tomatoes, salt, garlic, onions, basil, sugar, oregano and black pepper. Cook slowly, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until sauce is thickened. In the meantime, brush peppers, squash and onion with oil. Place under broiler and cook, turning frequently until browned and tender. Remove to bowl. Cook spaghetti until al dente. Drain well and portion onto plates. Cover with equal amounts of sauce. Top with equal amounts of vegetables. Serve immediately. Yield: 4 servings

USC quarterback Mark Sanchez dislocated his left kneecap during pre-practice warmups today (Friday, Aug. 8). The injury occurred as Sanchez jumped slightly while making a throw and he landed awkwardly. He was carted off the field, taken for X-rays and an MRI, then evaluated after practice by the USC doctors and athletic training staff. It was a clean dislocation, with no complications (no ligament, cartilage or bone damage). His knee will be immobilized over the weekend and he will start rehab on Monday. Sorry I haven't been around but alot has been going on with me. As most know I left my husband and started over. I do landscaping and now live in Maryland. About a month ago I flipped a four wheeler and injured my leg. Spent four days in the hospital over that stunt. I got carried away. Hey I am ready to hop back on it and go again though. Well, I’m down to 30 days. 30 days and I leave this place. 31 days I get boots on ground on American soil. I’m keeping busy, a whole lot busier than I wanted to be, but what can you expect? Another blog about nothing, lol. After two rounds of tag your it, and another couple with a few people, it has been brought to my attention that no matter how boring you think your life is, it can really be quite interesting. My earliest memory that I can actually claim as mine and not a remembrance of mom or dad, is that of my mom crying in front of the TV in the living room. We were living in El Paso at the time, and President Kennedy had just been shot, it was November 22, 1963. I don't remember anything else from that time period, the hospital, the shooting of Oswald, the burial, all that is memory from film of the events. Funny how people can sometimes see something often enough to believe it was their memory of it. I won't claim that I know what are my memories and which are 'accumulated' memories. This past week has been one for saying goodbye & welcoming home . Tomorrow will be a week ago that we got the call about Glenda. It’s still hard to believe she is gone. On the happier side of things, my uncle who has been away from almost three years came home on Wednesday. I’m really worried about Mamow. I've been sitting here wracking my brain for a while trying to figure out how to pay for shit. Lets face it. I'm broke as hell. I'm a single mom trying to make it, sob sob sob. I've always managed, and my bills get paid, there is just no room for extras. Now a gigantic extra has reared its ugly head. As a couple of you know, my daughter is severely handicapped. Beyond a reason of a doubt. She received her wheelchair a little while ago, and we haven't really had the need to use it because she was still small and could fit into a stroller. Autumn is going to be 4 this year, and Autumn is no longer small. She's over half as tall as me and weighs a forth as me. Thats usually not a big deal, but I'm handicapped as well. I can no longer lift her without doing damage to myself. It has now become necessity for me to get a van with a wheelchair ramp so I no longer have to move her from car seat to stroller to car seat and back. Divorce
I had the pleasure(or misfortune) To have to sit through and provide security for divorce court. I find it amazing that people that once professed undying love for each other ripping at each others throats. I can understand it is difficult to decide who gets what. But I have seen people fighting over who gets ownership of the dog, and if visitation is allowed. I am not saying who is at fault the male or the female. I think the worse part of it is when the kids become bargaining chips in the divorce. Hearing "You aren't gonna see the kids if you don't pay" or " I am not gonna pay cause I don't get to see my kids." The Closing Of Rejects In The Rafters
Ok I am going to clarify a few things here about why Rejects closed. For starters, I want to say thank you to the ones that really helped me out. It's Back
Wednesday was one of the worst days of my life and Thursday wasn’t much better. The whole day had been stressful enough. My mom’s power got shut off so I had my mom and my sister at my house and my brother had been going off about it all day. Okay, so I am driving along today, which by the way is shit cause it was raining thus why I am home. Thank you Florida Fucking Weather! My Current Living Situation Explained (for Those That Keep Asking)
I live in a studio apartment in Des Moines, WA, which is just south of Seattle. The upper part of Des Moines starting with Pac Hwy and about half a mile going down towards the water, is a place full of drugs, prostitutes, drug pushers, thieves, and what I like to describe as soulless carcasses roaming the streets. I even had a guy try to jack me of my car while I was parked at a stop light. It was some white dude, walked up to my passanger door as I tried to lock my doors and reach for my razor blade knife. War. How Do You Feel About It.
I enjoy reading history and war seems to be a big part of the human trail. I suppose we all have our views on the activity and some can say some wars are justified. But is any first strike morally justified especially if we can't truthfully proove the reasons for the first strike before we attack? Whatever your opinions on the Iraq invasion we all might have our feelings about war itself. I wrote this poem a number of years ago to express how I feel about war in general. I write what and how I feel about something. What do you feel about war? Oh by the way. I was 19 miles from the World Trade Center when it went down. I lost friends in that attack. My father, I, and my father's cousin (my 2nd cousin and also one of my favorite people to ask advice)Cal. We had ventured to Millerpark this evening. New pitcher who just rocks, and let me just say this, my father has helped me to develope a taste for baseball. I had never been to the park myself although I had been to old county stadium plenty. I feel I might have ruined it alittle for my Dad however cause I was more into just being with him and cal then actually being at the park which I was thrilled to be at. It is beautiful. The game was great. Our new pitcher is brutal. The park is very very cool. But what was the most cool is being in the company of true men and being accepted as a equal.
