Encounter With A Griz.
Leave it to me....let murphy's law prevail. The batteries had died on my camera on my last hike, so I made it s priority to pick up some new batteries at Radio Shack on my way out of town. Well, I figured I'd gotten a pretty late start and had to go into the office for a few hours so I'll just load the camera when I'm at the trailhead. So driving up a small barely a road called Palookaville Trail, I round the corner and there in the middle of the road sits a 350-400 lb grizzly bear. Not the largest I've seen but closest I've been to one in about 20 years. 8 feet to be exact. Well, all the windows are rolled down and the dog is going nuts barking at this big furry creature while I am feverishly scrounging for the camera and the batteries to put in it. I get the batteries in it and now the bear is about 25-30 yards away. So much for the great picture opportunity. I turned on my computer this morning and went through my normal routine of checking emails and reading the news. I came across a story that totally blew my mind. An Australian family are on the run from the police because they refused to have their 2 day old baby immunised against Hep B. The mother is a carrier of the disease so doctors feel the risk to the baby is high, despite the parents being aware of prevention measures to virtually eliminate the chance of transmission. The father has voiced a valid concern about the ingredients in the vaccine and the adverse affects on his childs health. Aluminium was the one that he mentioned, but vaccines can also contain formaldehyde, anti freeze, disinfectant and human aborted fetal tissue. He addressed the issue of the baby being small and the fact that there is no dosage adjustment depending on the infants weight. So a 5lb baby is given the same dose as a 10lb baby. Faster-than-light Take: Tropic Pineapple Thunder Express
August seems to be the battleground for low-brow comedies nowadays. As some of you know by now, Pineapple Express -- though it be from the Judd Apatow-Seth Rogen, et al juggernaut - is not exactly a bust-a-gut, "ooohhh my lord" laugh-fest a la The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Superbad or Knocked Up. It has plenty of moments, and definitely a stoner flick. As we all know by now (i.e. Harold and Kumar, Half-Baked, Grandma's Boy), stoner flicks are cool, hilarious as hell and even pretty witty in a sickly subversive way. But Pineapple Express pays tribute to the cheeseball buddy/crime movies of the '70s and '80s. And it works at that. Rogen again plays the stumbling straight man perfectly while James Franco is a revelation as his dope-dealing "pal" and slacker. And hey, Gary Cole just needs to stick with these irreverent comedies. Sure, he made a name for himself in Midnight Caller and American Gothic, but jeez, he just kills it in Office Space, Family Guy, Harvey Birdman, Dodgeball, Talladega

Whats got me so worried... Well most of my good friends know that alomst a year and a half ago I had a mass removed on my uterus. Well I have another larger mass appear that was found last week. What those women are capable of doing I now have left the group of people who thought it was a silly sport and now consider it a true sport and these women true athletes. This week I had to remove 3 kids (3,4 AND 5) from their parents because their house was absolutely filthy! I didn’t bother me to take the kids away, but what is making me sad/angry is that the state has returned the kids! You see here, they remove the kids in cases like this for 48 hours and come back and see if the parents have cleaned things up. Well they did…in a way I guess, according to our detective. But painting over human feces on a wall isn’t really cleaning things is it? My only hope is that every onefollows through and they prosecute the parents like they say they want to. If not, enough of us who saw the conditions are vowing to keep an eye on the parents and maybe we can catch them again and someone will wake up and do what needs to be done before one or all of these kids end up dead!

No matter what I do, no matter what I say...it's just not good enough for my dad. I've tried to do just like he tells me to. Medical Update...
So, to update everyone on the Lupus situation... ->Spoke with the dr's office, they DID do a second test in regards to the Lupus testing. The first test WAS positive, but the second test was inconclusive. They will probably re-run the bloodwork in the near future. Current situation, I was sitting down Tuesday evening, and my left arm started to drop outta socket. So I went to the dr today (Friday). Turns out I have a partial dislocation of my left shoulder. The dr ordered x-rays on my shoulder, will only hear about those if they see something bad. I have another appt on Sept 10, but this appt is with the orthopedic specialist. Until then, I am supposed to keep my arm in a sling. I will post another update when I know more. I appreciate all the thoughts and well-wishes from everyone!! Love all my friends! ~Tina

Operation Care
I wanted to take a few minutes out of my day to bring to your attention a wonderful thing that is taking place in the world. It's so often that we hear all of the awful things taking place, that we soon forget that there is still good happening too. My younger sister iTamara is a photo-journalist for the U.S. Army National Guard, currently stationed in Afghanistan. I chat with her online as much as I can, always thankful that modern technology can bridge the gap between the miles, if only for a few minutes at a time, bringing my sister home. In those chats, she mentioned an orphanage she had visited and the fact that the kids there were so awesome. When she told me that most of the kids there didn't have shoes, it wrenched something in my heart and I knew that I had to do something. I began talking with a few people, and before I knew it, I had people offering to do shoe drives, take up collections for shoes, etc. for these children. Though it really ticks me off, I often do the exact thing. When did people stop reading English? When did they stop caring about stuff like cross walks, stop signs, stop lights etc? This has been growing on my nerves for some time. While all Wal-Mart how many people actually go in the Enter and out the Exit? Then when you stare at them they act like you are the idiot! A home being built for the son of Jack Nicklaus in Jupiter, Florida, has been destroyed by fire. The fire started early Wednesday at the home of 39-year-old Gary Nicklaus. A former PGA golfer himself, Nicklaus had filed for building permits in January at the Bears Club, a golf community developed by his father. The second floor of Gary Nicklaus’ home was almost finished when the fire started about 5 a.m. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman Capt. I Should Go To College.
I should go to college. The word college sucks. It makes me not want to go to college. If they called it Party Institute, I'd probably go. Because I don't know much about partying. i just got home from a long stay in three diferent hospitals . i started to get very sick and ended up have two opps. on my lungs just to save my life . my right lung had two holes ,one at the top the size of a dollar and one at the bottom the size of my fist . had a colapsed luge with a chest tube over 12 inches long to help me breath and was in danger of my hart colapsing as well. i am in lots of pain and not sleeping well,but i do feel the docs. did a great job putting me back together . i have been given a new chance to live and will make the best of every day i have left. may Buddha bless and keep me in his heart. i truly found out how strong i am ,it is mind blowing what you can handle when you at deaths door.

This was coming up before I was interrupted by someone else's blog that made me smile. Most people judge people from their age, their appearance, etc. When I was growing up (years back in those dinosaur days, lol), children were to be seen and not heard and God never listen to a child for intelligence. Well, in my long life, I have did not treat my children this way nor teach them that. As a matter of fact, everyone can learn something from anyone at any giving time, because we are not all knowing, even if some of us (yes, lol, me included) claim to be a know it all. Fact is that some intelligent things can come out of even a child's mouth (yes I heard some pretty common sense things from children that made me stop and think, wow, why didn't I think of that). Case in point, as an electrician, I used to take metal cad cable and throw it every six feet (that is how I was taught) to run it across a suspended ceiling grid. Starting Tomorrow
Well, after today, until the first weekend of November, I won't be on fubar, during the weekend during the day. I'll only be on in the early morning and late evenings. The Maryland renaissance festival http://www.rennfest.com/ starts tomorrow and runs until the 3rd weekend of October and the following weekend I'll be going to TX for the Texas renaissance festival http://www.texrenfest.com/ .
