Many, many times I feel as though the universe functions like a police department with a ticket quota. A few years ago an article for Essence magazine about forgiving my father for all he had done. For so many years I was angry with him. I do believe that when I was growing up this man hated me to my core. I don't remember any happy memories with him. And I'm sure there had to be some, but it's funny what a child will hang on to. Red Fridays
As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support "Red Fridays." Will you give this to my Daddy? Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began headig to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. Wedding
Today is wed June 20th. Sat June 23rd my son is getting married. It is a busy 2 1/2 days before the event. I was thinking back on all that has happened since Aug 22 1979. That is the day we brought him home from North Platte Ne. He weighted 4lbs 12 oz. I was afraid he would break but I couldn't put him down. Brian is adopted. I was so afraid we would never get him. Not knowing it was a him. I wanted a child so bad I cried myself to sleep for 3 yrs. I tried not to let it interfere with my daily life. In the end it was one of the reasons for the end of my marriage. But I could never even think of my life without Brian. The terrible 2's didn't prepare me for the horrendous teens. Herbed Shrimp In Garlic Butter
3 dozen shrimp, de-veined 1 tablespoon salt 1 teaspoon oregano 1 teaspoon thyme 1/2 cup butter 5 cloves garlic, pressed 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced 1/4 lb. sliced mushrooms 1/4 cup butter 6 thin orange slices, for garnishing (optional) green onions, for garnishing (optional) Shell and de-vein shrimp, leaving tails on. Place shrimp in small bowl with salt, oregano, thyme. In a separate bowl, cream together butter, garlic and parsley. In a small skillet, sauté mushrooms in butter. Brush seasoning mixture lightly from shrimp, allowing some to remain. Divide the shrimp among six individual oven proof baking dishes; top with sautéed mushrooms and drizzle with remaining butter from skillet. Spoon garlic butter mixture (as desired) on top of mushrooms. Bake at 375°F. for 12 minutes or until done. Pork Chops A La Dijon
4 boneless pork chops 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs 3 tablespoons dijon mustard 3 tablespoons lemon juice 1 tablespoon crushed capers Heat oven to 375°F. Trim visible fat from chops. Spray a 13x9 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside. Place bread crumbs into a shallow dish or pan. In a separate dish, combine mustard, lemon juice, and capers. Dip both sides of the chops into the mustard mixture, then in the bread crumbs. Place coated chops into baking pan and bake at 375°F for 30 to 40 minutes until pork is no longer pink, turning once about half way through. Enjoy!

Barbecue Ribs With Special Barbecue Sauce
Baby back ribs (1 slab per person) 1/4 cup red wine vinegar or lemon juice 1 stick butter, melted 1 clove garlic, crushed 1 onion, grated Remove skin from back of ribs. Cut a small slit between each rib. Mix vinegar, butter, onion and garlic together and use mixture to season ribs on both sides. Place ribs on a preheated grill and close the cover. Turn ribs every 20 minutes and baste with Barbecue sauce until tender. Taco Soup
1 lb lean ground beef (or turkey) 1 onion, chopped 1 pkg taco seasonings 1 pkg dry Ranch seasonings 2 large cans diced tomatoes, undrained 1 can Rotel tomatoes, undrained 1 can black beans 1 can pinto beans 1 can whole kernel corn Brown meat and onion. Key Lime Vinaigrette
3 fresh key limes or 1/4 cup key lime juice 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil 1/2 tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar or vinegar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper pinch of garlic powder or garlic salt honey, to taste Whisk all. Keep tasting for desired flavor. Toss with field greens or dark green lettuce of your choice. This does not yield much dressing, but the taste is so light on greens, it's ~HEAVENLY~. You don't want to drench on one small salad; we tossed this small amount thoroughly on a surprisingly large chopped salad; 1 head of red lettuce and 1 bunch of head of Asian spinach. We had just enough dressing to taste it. You want to be able to taste the greens through the dressing. Very nice and healthy!

Pasta Carbonara
1/4 lb package of mild Italian sausage 1/4 lb prosciutto ham, thinly sliced 1/2 cup minced parsley 3 well beaten eggs 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese 2 tablespoons melted butter 1/2 package thick spaghetti Cook Sausage until almost done. Add prosciutto and parsley until all is cooked. Cook the pasta according to package directions; drain. Add to pasta the butter, eggs, parsley, meats, cheese and pepper. Mix well and serve immediately.

Chickentenders Portabello Mushrooms
1 1/2 lb fresh chicken tenders 1 small onion, chopped 8 - 10 oz pkg portobello mushrooms, sliced 2 medium potatoes cubed** 1 clove of garlic diced 2 tbsp pkg chicken gravy 1/4 c hot water 1/4 c olive oil salt and pepper **after cubing potatoes place in microwave for 2 - 3 minutes on high or use potato setting until slightly tender. Heat large skillet to medium to medium high. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and chicken tenders; cook until no longer pink (approximately 5 minutes). Meantime, chop the onion, dice the garlic and prepare potatoes. When chicken tenders no longer pink, remove from skillet. In same skillet, add remaining olive oil, onion, garlic, potatoes and portobello. Cook until tender; approximately 10 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons of chicken gravy mixed with 1/4 cup hot water and bring it to a boil. Stir in chicken tenders and simmer for 20 minutes until the liquid thickens. The whole process is less then 30 minutes for preparation. Enjoy

My Life So Far
So far today has been good.. My son that is 6.5 weeks old is asleep. He is so great to me. I love that lil boy to death.. I have 3 nieces and 3 nephews and I have a couple step nephews... The Time Is Getting Near
Ok it is getting closer and closer to my last day of school. I can't believe I am almost to the very end. Today I have made a decision to go tomorrow and look for another job. It is going to be tough with working the job that I am now and going to school, but I really don't have a choice. I figured out my bills and my budget and I need to be making at a minimum $500 per week and I am not even close to that which has put me in a very bad situation with being late on house payments and other bills. So therefore a choice has to be made to work two jobs and also go to school. Blah...sometimes ya just hate life!!!

As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support "Red Fridays." Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. Morning!
Good morning! My daily morning routine consists of boring stuff .... get up, boot computer, make coffee, feed my kitten, get dressed, make breakfast and take it out to eat on the patio while the kitten plays. Well, actually she is a cat now. I have had her since October. I had her declawed, as a condition of getting her. It made me cry at the time, but it is okay now. I like to let her run outside and play still but won't leave her alone there in case some other cat comes along or she gets into trouble. And she does get into trouble now! Last week she learned how to climb trees, without front claws! She hangs on with the front legs and uses her back claws to push herself up. Darn. My Dream Come True.. 20 Years In The Making
So friday, June 15th, I drove for 4 hours from Lewiston Maine to Hartford Connecticut to see Tiffany at The Chez Est. She was SO incredible and was so sweet! So I just finished this movie called Heavenly creatures and its made me terribly sad. Music has been the pervasive element in my life. I’ll admit that I’m an addict; a junkie of sorts. A Little Confused

It's Just My Fuckin Week Huh?
Yesterday I had an interview..I had to get a shot before hand..so my arm is still killin me. Kindness
Sometimes I feel as if my hands are tied. Others emotional states effect me when they constantly lash out at me. The Drama breaks my heart but sitting back taking the anger and abuse no longer is healthy for me. Kindness often gets confused for Weakness. The Rush

So this is what happened. Yesterday I was having a really really REALLY bad tooth ache. The tooth needs pulled and I can't get that done until Saturday and I have nothing to take for the pain since Tylenol does nothing. Soooo I call my mom and asked her if she had any pain killers that I could have to last until I could have my tooth fixed. She has my brother bring over two Seroquel and eight Clonazepam (Dissolving tablets). She says they will help and I know nothing about them but thought what the hell. So he brings them in a zip lock baggie and leaves. I take one of the Seroquel though she says to take them both. Ct Pains
I dont know whats going on! Either my computer is 75% done taking a huge dump on me or this site is making my computer crash! Frustration And Jubilation
I am both happy and frustrated with my reef right now. It is looking the best it ever has but I still can't figure out why I'm getting hair algae on the live rock. I had thought it was a Phosphate problem but I tested my Phosphates and they are almost undetectable @ 0.2 ppm. My water parameters are totally perfect other than a slightly low pH. This makes me very happy because it shows my reef is very stable and very healthy but now I have no clue why I'm getting algae. Ugh...
