Chinese Walnut Chicken
Ingredients: * 1 teaspoon cornstarch * 1 Tablespoon water * 1 egg white, beaten * 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into one-inch cubes * 3 Tablespoons soy sauce * 1 Tablespoon bourbon * 1/2 teaspoon sugar * 4 Tablespoons oil * 3 whole scallions, cut into 2-inch slivers * 2 slices fresh ginger, minced * 1 medium garlic clove, minced * 3/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts Hot cooked rice Method In a bowl, mix together cornstarch, water and egg white. Add chicken and toss until thoroughly mixed. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, bourbon and sugar. Set aside. Heat a wok or large heavy skillet over high heat until a drop of water "skittles" across and evaporates immediately. Add 2 Tablespoons of oil, swirl, and add chicken. Finally Found What I Was Looking For
What a pleasant surprise it was to find this community. is it just me but am I the only one that thought both the simpson and transformers is not worth the hype. The simpson was just any other simpson episode nothing special. Transformer was more of people watching people watching the transformer and come on the final battle between good and evil. Poor Family
I haven't written a blog in about two weeks and I figured it is time that I share with my friends that take the time to read my blog about what been going on. Where do I start. Tristen goes to Churchill YMCA Summer program. Cindy is one of the ladies that works there. I drop Tristen off with her in the mornings. Cindy told me on Thursday July 15th that Friday July 20th would be here last day for two weeks as her & her family are going camping for two weeks. Tristen doesn't go Fridays so Thursday was his last day with her was Thursday July 19. Saturday Cindy her husband Henri and there two boys left to go camping. Sunday July 22, 2007 at about 4:30pm the families home went up in flames. The neighbours failed to extinguish the fire. It took them a while to get a hold of the family. By then there was nothing left of there home. I didn't find out till Monday when I picked Tristen up for Churchill. The first thing that came to mind is thank god they where not home. Baby Kaleb Update.
Kaleb is still doing better. He had an audiology appointment yesterday and that didn't go so well... During the whole test the lady kept sighing and saying "oh, this doesn't look good..." so I was getting a little frustrated. Then she told us that his hearing is now "Grossly Abnormal". She tried a bunch of different tests and still thinks that he cannot hear. I don't believe her though because I KNOW HE CAN. I will call his name and he will turn his head. The audiologist said that the damage to the hearing is in the brain, not in the ears. I will not accept this because she is not there when I walk into his bedroom and he hears me and turns towards me. Even his Home health nurse says she thinks he can hear. So yesterday wasn't the greatest day... But I am not going to let this get to me. One good thing is that today when I was taking a picture of Kaleb his eyes were half open, and when the flash went off, he opened his eyes. Witness Dream.
Last nights dream was.... interesting. I was witness to a murder, the only witness I think. I was put into a witness portection program. I couldn't remember many details of the murder which didn't look great on my part. I think they may have partially thought that I killed the girl. Wht I did remember was that the girl had long dark hair and I remembered alot of blood. I was covered by the blood actually. They searched around until they could find a place for me to stay. They ended up putting me with Mary K who irl is one of my managers and this other black girl who used to work with us who in the dream was her lesbian lover. I know you more than likely didnt know him but a good friend of mine passed away late July 28/early July 29 when he was involved in a head on collision. For those who care to read this Colton Parker was one of the best friends that anyone could ask for. He had the ability to make anyone laugh and had no trouble bringing a smile to your face. He always had time to listen and was completely understanding no matter what the situation was. Fetal Hydrops Diagnosed...
On Tuesday, July 24th, 07....my daughter, who was only seven months pregnant, went into preterm labor. They were able to stop the contractions but said they didn't have the equipment to handle premature births under 36 weeks, so she was taken by ambulance to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. After she arrived there, she was given numerous tests and the like only to be told the baby was diagnosed with fetal hydrops, which according to the doctors is almost always fatal to the infant. He was only given a 25% chance that he'd live. To my understanding, he has fluid buildup in and around every vital organ in his tiny body including under the skin.. Bike Accident
... yep as if my luck could get any worse. I had an accident today. 07/29/07 The Beginning - Kinda...
So i decided to start a blog of stories from my nights working here at the hotel... i've already had some hilarious things happen. My first week of working here i think i got hit on just about every night. I Just Finished Harry Potter
Wow, it wasn't quite as long as I anticipated it would be (607 pages), but it was one of the most exciting books I have ever read. Most touching was the last chapter. I will not spill any details, but this book had more action than all the other books combined. I felt a lump in my throat as I finished. Its amazing! One small thing, Can you picture Harry robbing a bank and making a get away on a dragon? Thats just one of the many amazing things he does in the book :) Its 5 am. Nothing's The Same
Here lately i've realized that when you do something wrong, people call it a mistake. But in reality it's only a mistake if you do it again. Good Nights Sleep
I haven't had a good nights sleep since the begining of the month. My brother in law asked me to help him drive out to California to pick up a big thing. And we drove all night for like 5 days getting there and back. We did stop at a hotel the one night. But it didn't help much. Since I've been back I have been stressing about finding a job and an apartment and not making any progress. People are getting pissed at me and I feel kinda stuck. Its not like there is anything I have control over that I have allowed to get me off track. I just kinda suck. The only work experiance I have is as a cook and I haven't been able to find any resturants that are hiring. There was a school's caffeteria hiring but that doesn't start until Sept. If I don't find a job before then I will be very very sad.
