Seeing The Things That I Love...

Maple Cookies 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon maple extract 1/4 cup maple syrup 4 cups all-purpose flour 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Heavy cream Maple Glaze: 1 cup confectioners' sugar 1/4 cup maple sugar 1 teaspoon maple extract 1/4 cup unsalted butter In a medium bowl, cream the butter, then gradually add the sugar and continue to beat. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, maple extract, and maple syrup, and beat until light and fluffy. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together. Thoroughly blend into the butter mixture. Form into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 4 hours. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Roll the dough out 1/4-inch thick. Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war , nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee. Sug Is Home
As some of you know I had surgery last Thursday...if not it was not minor surgery, I had drains left in until today. I have had a PICC line in my arm for IV antibiotics for the past three weeks...not fun to say the least. I had a negative lumpectomy 3 years ago and got staph from the surgery. I have been fighting it for 3 years!! A year and a half ago I went to a plastic surgeon who said they could fix the problem by removing the damaged tissue. Well 3 days after surgery I again had a staph infection and was on antibiotics. To make this shorter I have had off and on infections since then and they always drained them and up me on meds until finally an ultrasound was done and they saw how really big of an area they were dealing with......hence the IV meds this time. I went back to to doctor today and found out ALL of the tissue taken was infected with staph......and on top of this I have a horrible cold/sinus infection...whatever, can hardly talk. NOW for my VENT......many pp

Right now I cant believe some of the thoughts that are running through my brain. YIKES, once again I am over thinking. My Mom
Ok well i wanted to update everyone....last night i finally got to sleep a little before 12 and the phone rang at 1....It was the hospital...They were rushing my mom back into surgery...She had 3 blood vessels bleeding in her neck and face internally and they wouldnt stop...so they went back in and opened her back up an cauterized the blood vessels and stitched her back up...So ive had no sleep and im moody so dont mind me today please! Ok I got more news and unfortunately its not good..After they got her awake they found she has no use to the right side of her face .She cant even close her eye. They dont know how much is permanant and only time will tell...so please everyone still pray for her! she is in recovery...they wont know if there was any damage to the nerves til she is fully awake, as far as the surgery itself it went well..My dad will be calling me back with the rest after they get her fully awake and the dr tells him more..thank you all for your prayers!

OK my best friend came over leter that evening after my kitten blog and caught the elusive one which we named Trouble. So we have all 5 now and are ready to find homes for them. Last night I was invited by Continental Airlines to watch the Astros/Cubs game in their suite at Minutemaid park in Houston. Who'da Thought?
This isn't hard to understand, but even harder for those who were there! September 11th has come and gone, and it has now been 6 years since that horrific event, not only here in New York City, but in Pennsylvania and Washington D.C.! Why I Haven't Been Around
I got a couple of message wanting to know why I haven't been on. Don't want to go into alot of details. I have had a lot going on of late in my real life, but what has been keeping me off of here is the fact that I have been very sick. I have a rash on 50% of my body and that which isn't covered by a rash won't stop itching. I'm not suppose to be out in the sun, now I know why? Some of my meds react bad in sun lite. Rush
Saturday night I had the pleasure of seeing the band Rush in concert for the first time. To say it was a truly spiritual experience for me is not even doing it the total justice it deserves. It was AMAZING and as near to NIRVANA as I have been. Though I enjoy several different forms of music, I am a huge fan of drummers - power drummers to be more exact. It amazes me the skill it takes to play the drums well and since one of my best friends is a drummer - I have been fortunate enough to be able to watch a skilled drummer behind the variety of drums, cymbals, cow bells, etc. and no matter how many times I watch the drums being played - it still truly captivates me. I was pleasantly surprised when my friends and I arrived at our seats to find that I was directly in front of the drum kit though several rows back but close enough to see clearly without squinting. hey guys just to let those that were cocncerned for me i am well, things went well yesterday. cant really talk that well but i am here and not really that sick today so that is good. As some of you guys on my friends list know i am going into the hospital on Friday morning to have some test run. Have been having a few problems with my health these past few months. If things go well which i think they will i will be home that afternoon. If for some reason there is a complication i may have to stay in the hospital for the night maybe longer.
