What are you waiting for?
So here's the thing. I am trying to get this out to as many places, and people as possible.
I've always been pretty independent. A loner. I've lived alone, been single, so on. Then I got my first rescue dog. Charlie. He's the light of my life.
A few months later, I took in Thor as a foster. Another georgous boy.
The thing is, I suck at relating to people. But I can look at these two boys who were unwanted and unloved and know EXACTLY how they feel. I can look in their eyes and see that they just want someone to give them a chance. I had to work for it. I had to prove to them that I wasn't going to leave them. Once they warmed up though, it was without fail, the best thing to ever happen.
Charlie is my lil man. He snuggles and adores everyone. Except Thor. He hated Thor. Coming from being a beaten up dog that was abused, He saw Thor (a bigger dog) as a threat. About 3 weeks ago, this all changed. Thor started having seizures. We did all kinds of tests, and found that he was just plain epilectic. My poor sweet foster dog was now on the fast track to nobody wanting him again. Thor was only supposed to be here for a little while. Get him healthy, teach him manners and training, and find him a wonderful forever home. Who's going to want a sick dog though? I'll tell you who. Me. And Charlie. Once Thor got sick, Charlie changed his tune. He lays by his kennel every night instead of sleeping with his momma. He lays nose to nose when Thor isn't feeling good. He loves his new brother, which in turn made the decision to keep Thor super easy. However, this past weekend, Thor got sick again. Vomitting and not keeping anything in. Lost 5lbs (which is huge in an already underweight dog) and was just plain sad.
Here's the thing. As a foster, the rescue pays for everything.... however, times are hard and the rescue is about tapped out. I'm about tapped out. and Thor is about the only one who isn't. He's fighting for his chance at forever. Vet bills are piling up and We're fighting to keep above water.
I'm asking for any help I can get at this point. $5 is more than we had yesterday, and closer to making sure he has his right meds every day and can get into his forever. Please Please Please... if you can't help, share his story. He deserves a chance at life.
I rescued them, and in turn... they've rescued me. I know what love is now, and I just want to make sure I can always return the favor.
