I might have been an ADD or ADHD child that never was properly diagnosed as one, or perhaps, I have developed it as an adult; I simply do not know.
What I do know is that I need to feel challenged often. If I am not challenged, I am seeking out other ways to be challenged.
For instance, when I was younger I had to go to a Speech and Hearing Center to help with my speech. When I got older, I got involved with the Toastmaster's organization and performed many speeches so that I am much more comfortable speaking before groups of people.
After my husband's death about 5 years ago, I found myself needing additional challenges to keep me busy. I completed a degree and started blogging.
I do so love blogging as evidenced in my many blogs (many of which are listed in my
iWIM website under the "Creative Writing" heading). Last year, I had attempted to get involved with
Blogcritics.com wherein I had an article published through them.
They are different than your normal blog site in that you have to go through a complex process of your article being approved for publication. They are often pickier than any other site that I have dealt with and, with my college courses still going on at the time, I decided to put them on hold.
At any rate, I have decided to take up their challenge once again and have submitted an article to them about abuse of power. I am waiting to hear back from them for the approval and thinking up another topic to write about and submit to them.
Generally speaking, it isn't hard for me to think up of a topic to write about; however, if you think of any topics that you find it interesting, I will certainly look into writing about the topic.
Although, CT isn't presenting enough of a challenge to me right now (as a program itself), I am sticking by CT because of my friends here. In the meantime, I am trying to find some new writing projects to give me renewed challenges before I sit down and finish my book I have been working on.
Maybe it is time to sit down to write my book, huh???
