One of the exercises in my work study in order to bring out the more creative side of ourselves is to deal with some past triggers that have attempted to block our creative selves.
One of the folks didn't think she had to to do that...or, what we were reading into it was that she wasn't ready to do that. We told her that it was okay.
I added a commentary that I don't think that it was the author's intent for us to completely cleanse our entire souls; after all, what makes each of the artist's unigue is their own emotions that they possess. Some of these are possessed because of unconquered fears or pasts, which makes them who they are.
