Remembering 9/11

It seems so long ago sometimes, can it really already be 14 years? wow.. This event is now past of our children's history books, forever memorialized.

I was living in Australia at the time , my fiancee at the time was in korea doing his training.. when he heard about the planes .He asked for me to help me find them, because he couldn't get through from Korea.I agreed and out a plan to do exactly that.

I did my best it took about 5 days to find his mothers church.. and call them and talk to her and then i called my fiancee to let him know they were ok . We were so relieved  but unfortunately an uncle wasn't so lucky.. He died in the attacks... we found out that suruvivors were using their phones while trapped under the rubble so that the rescuers could find them.. through gps...The smog over the great city was like that of a horror movie .. you feel almost taste the despair.. the sorrow , the sadness..Ash covered everything..  Thousands of pictures were taken during this whole event. Amazing pictures. It was one of the most photographed events in history. Some of those images will remiain with us through out our lives.9/11 didn't seem real.

It didn't feel real while it was going on. i don't how else to describe it.It was kinda like playing a part in a movie. in slow motion. His family is from New York. It was pure hell.we saw many things wish we didn't see , that can never be unseen . i think that seeing the people jump out of the buildings ... was one the worst things I had ever even. Seeing the city be eaten by flames.. I swear you could hear the screaming the background... and the rumble and ashes and soot... War had come to the civilians a war we weren't trained for. But we did our best... We survived.. As a city , as a Nation , it shook us to the very depth of our cores ... made us scared for a lil while.scared our children so they didn't want to go to school .. or did we want to fly... But it didn't kill our resolve... We become one and were united against a common enemy.

But what was truly amazing who how everyone from all over the world pitched in to help during this time . there were so many acts of kindness, and love for strangers.

Memorials and flowers were laid all over the world ..I was so proud when the Sydney Consulate had flowers from other fellow Australians , sending thier love condolences, cards of sympathy ,some of hope... we all  shared in  the great sorrow and grief.. churches were open 24/7 for a place for people to talk and grief , find comfort ... It is a day I will never forget.

My status will stay remembering those lost all weekend.. Remembering those great fearless heroes.. who gave all ...I will be thinking about all the children that lost thier parents, and other family memembers , everyone who lost a loved one... We are blessed to be here this day , living and breathing... Let's never forget all these brave souls... LIVE UNITED !!!!  THANK YOU FOR OUR FREEDOM!
