The Call

I lost control, I’m falling again I need to find out what I’m madeOf , is it straw? No . maybe wood? No. Steel close but still not it. I am made from flesh, bone and bl0od. I am a firefighter there Is no mold for one who answers a call greater than he or she will ever know. A firefighter must not be afraid of anything but instead respect the power that causes such destruction. For that which we do not fear will claim us with its fiery clutches. People Hold us on high as superheroes but for everything that we do we are still but humble and mortal men and women. Do not call hero to us for we are not. We selflessly commit to our duty without regardTo ourselves which in and of itself is a heroic deed but still we are not heroes. We stand alone against all odds. We will never know which step will be our last but we still take the next step regardless And when that day comes that we shall take our last step we will be greeted with open arms form our brothers and sisters. Our last alarm will ring to welcome us home for the last time. Pray for us for we leave our families at any and all hours of the day to answer the call.
