Shadows
Trickle across
Verdant fields
Painting changing shades of darkness
Like an artist
With careless hand
Sun waking from afternoon's repose
Peeking through the clouds
Silvering the edges
Making its presence known
in the beautiful valley
which lay covered in dull ebony
Sunlight here and there
In dappled patches
Ever changing
Flickering
Almost living
Rays of light caressing the meadow
With silken fingers
Tender like a lover
Playful like a child
Gently creeping
Across darkened land
Shadows resisting
Wanting to stay and play
A mad game of tag
Sunlight in pursuit
As shadows flit
Giggling
Across fertile earth
