My name is Derek and I drive a truck for a living. It's a job, not a lifestyle. I don't own a down vest, wear a cap, or even drink coffee. I do own a pair of cowboy boots, but I can't remember the last time I wore them. T shirts, shorts and Reeboks are my apparel of choice. My friends are my family, as most of my real family has left out in one way or another. I'm not looking to hook up with anyone although you can never tell. I don't like enclosed places (tunnels give me the willies) clowns creep me out, and I eat 1 thing at a time. If I have steak, potato and salad, I'll eat the salad first, then the potato, and finally the steak. I like to save the best for last, you might say.
I am also a ghost. When you go to lunch with your friends, I'm the guy in the booth by the window, reading a magazine. You may bump into me in a line somewhere, apologize, then instantly forget it ever happened. I could even sit next to you at a bar and chat all night, but you won't remember me the next day. Then, out of the blue one day, you'll remember a joke I told, or a smile you got, or some silly little something, and you'll smile. You will know that someone special touched your life for just an instant, and maybe made it just a bit more bearable. All that being said, has a ghost touched your life?
