Hmmmmmm. So I was bored at work and browsing some different sites and profiles; seeing all the different things that people have to say. After an hour or so of reading, I came to the conclusion that we are a fucked up society.
So, is technology to blame? If you think about it back in the day, things seemed a lot more simple. Young couples seeing older couples in a park; the young woman whispers to her husband "I hope we are still together when we are that age.". Well, guess what? You probably won't be.
Not that I am a pesimist; in fact, I'm quite the optimist. But during the time of my grandparents, life was simple. Seemed to be more family values than there are today and everyone had a sense of pride and virtue. A person's word was a bond you could count on and a sense of general trust could be found in communities.
But now? We are a clusterfuck. Maybe there was just as much corruption back then, they just didn't have the technology to discover it, and pass along the information. With the advancement in technology, information can be passed in seconds across the world; people can learn things about different cultures and adapt them to their own lives, thus making a "hybrid sub-culture".
The advance in technology also opened the door for people to be more deceitful. Whether its posting fake pics and lying about who you are and what you look like, or using a website to swindle and fuck hurricane victims out of any money they had left on a home insurance scandle. Sometimes I think we just need to start shooting these people; I bet if you kill a few hundred of these fuckers, the rest would be scared shitless to do it again. Hmmmm, but maybe not, some people are pretty stupid.
But then you would have a major uproar from the religious fanatics and peaceniks about killing. Well, being raised catholic, I did a bit of reading from the bible; God could be a pretty mean bastard if provoked. Revenge, what a nice concept. Oh, but if you want revenge, then maybe you need anger management classes (great movie); you should just forgive everyone and move on. Deal with it, if you can't, get good medical insurance, get a shrink and some medication to help you get over it .... LOL fuck that.
Eye for an eye baby. I've always had a problem with forgiveness; maybe its because I am a scorpio. Definitely "old school"; when you fuck up, you pay the price, and guess what? Some people just need a good, old fashion, ass kicking. "Be nicer", "Let it slide", "Be the adult", "Be the bigger person" , HAHA. So because we have the ability to reason (or a "soul" if you will) we are to suppress out basic instincts and emotions? Hmmm, last time I checked, holding things in can lead to problems.
I'll choose to celebrate my emotions and feelings. If you are a polite, honest, virtuous person, you will see the "nice side" of me; jovial, honest, and fun, and ready for a good time. But, if you are one of these assholes, leech of society, liar, or just a down right piece of shit; then you are going to see my bad side.
