I've been thinking aboot it a lot lately.
Had I not been vocal aboot the wrongs of the gcu ownership, made my stand in that campaign, and subsequently been kicked oot for upsetting the power; I'd have graduated this past weekend.
My whole life since has been formed by that decision.
Had I not done that, I'd now have my teaching degree, and still be in Phoenix. Other than that who knows what all would be different. I know what wouldn't have happened, but I don't know what really would've.
By standing up for what I believed to be right, I found my world turned upside down, and am yet to have found the new balance of it.
What it really boils down to is that I did what was right, and am paying for it.
And if ever faced with the decision of doing what's right or just keeping things on track. I really hope I choose right again, for its from the hardship that I'm slowly rising from the ashes.
I'd not be as strong of a person, had I done the "smart" thing.
One day I'll be able to look back and see the good that came of it, and I'll smile and laugh at the fools who choose sedate boring lives, instead of standing up for what's right.
