Sharkfin's blog: "Chaos"

created on 10/03/2006  |  http://fubar.com/chaos/b9661
Good Morning. I hate to do this but it rattled me this am when I logged onto my computer and right in the first few lines of MSN home page was this little tidbit. “IN A DEVERSE U.S. , A MOSTLY WHITE RNC” So I bit. I watched the speech that Vice President Nominee Sarah Palin gave, and I found myself watching and listening and not clicking off it. I hardly ever do that on a political speech. I have gone so far over the years when conventions and political speeches are the only thing to watch on TV to throw in a CD or do some chores around the house…this speech she gave was right on point. She attacked the media, strong Washington Elites and nay Sayers along with her competition. She stood up for the American Farmer, the Hockey Moms of this country and even brought in her speech a little satire with asking the crowd “you know the difference between a Hockey Mom and a Pit-Bull don’t you? The Lipstick!” I found myself wanting to applaud when everyone else did on the video, but smiled instead as I watched a proud Mother talk about her children, who no doubt will be drug thru thick and thin and leave no stone unturned by the media to find guilt, find scrutiny and find fault…through her children her past. Again this was not supposed to be Marty’s rendition of Walter Cronkite or another media mogul to show my support or disappointment for John McCain’s choice in running mate. Nope! Nor am I going to attack the democratic convention for trying to show they are better because they are right for the white house. Nor am I going to say the White House’s name stands fit to be only inhabited by White Presidents. Nope…But what I am going to say is this. The Race Card for here after has expired! No more using it. No more saying White America doesn’t want a Black President. No more saying this is a White Versus Black year. However…the media wants this, oh they want this so bad, this will give them type set, major ink for years to come. So why does this have me up in arms? Read for yourself…I copied and pasted that article: Only 36 of the 2,380 delegates seated on the convention floor are black, the lowest number since the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies began tracking diversity at political conventions 40 years ago. Each night, the overwhelmingly white audience watches a series of white politicians step to the lectern — a visual reminder that no black Republican has served as a governor, U.S. senator or U.S. House member in the past six years. I rest my case…I am voting how I want to not because the media says oh this is not right or this is a outright injustice on this race or that one… It’s about what is at matter, what is at stake. The utter clashes of the two party lines are being drawn in the sand saying pick your side now! Oh and yes I have to rely on the media somewhat because I am not in attendance for any of these showings of who is who and who is to be our next American President. So I have to read, watch listen and decipher as you yourself also has to do through are the short comings, the name callings the he doesn’t even salute the flag while the pledge is being read. She fired her ex-brother-in-law…please! Who do I think is better for our country? I think that will be said after I vote. Because I am not encouraging anyone to vote my way you should vote how you wish and tomorrow will be a new day. We will still be friends, people treating people like Americans should treat other Americans, Spanish, French, Swedes, Germans, Chinese, Japanese, and Arabs…you name it. We all live her, lets all play together nicely ok? So that is who I am casting my vote for, not for change, because no matter who gets elected we are going to have change. Holey smokes if you did not already realize that just look at the diversity of this year’s candidates, either a considered minority or a woman will be in the White House and be in charge oh more then just getting a token picture taken with a Baby, or Walking through Fields of Corn and Wheat. Am I mad, you bet your sweet ass I am mad as hell. Now more then ever I am voting the way I want because I know who is the best choice for America, You… will have to figure out that for yourself. Have a fabulous Day, and this is my last political morning missive. A huge hug and many pats Marty
