"Those Seeds"
Once my grandma told me,
a story about her life.
How she became a woman,
and how she became a wife.
She said it wasn't easy,
and times weren't always good.
She might regret a few things,
but she did the best she could.
She told me that the best thing,
you could give your child,
was to teach them independence,
so they could go the mile.
Now that I'm a mother,
I think about what she said.
And I never will forget,
those seeds planted in my head.
