i have some of these on Myspace as well, but for those who don't know me over there, i figured i'd just throw up a few for you all to read. hope you enjoy. "Kitten" A kitten kicks a ball of yarn Fur as dark as an autumn night The yarn is frail, falling apart The kitten paws it with delight Eyes like onyx, this kitten purrs The yarn is strewn across the floor A patch of white like a harvest moon The yarn rolls through another door Back and forth goes the fragile yarn It's coming undone bit by bit Will the kitten grow bored and leave? Or will it take the yarn with it?

just another poem of mine. this is semi-recent, though it was written over the summer. i sent it in to a poetry contest, and it shall be published in an anthology with other upcoming poets. i'll provide more info when i know for sure. "Solitary Pine" Amidst the snow stands a solitary pine Hidden in a valley where no light can shine Stunted and malnutritioned from the bitter cold Roots plunging deep from a trunk ages old Count the rings beneath its blistering bark Centuries of anguish have left their mark Branches hanging heavy, laden with snow The mountainous patrol leaves no room to grow Adventurers have come to hack at its limbs Phantasmal demons sing melancholy hymns Dark angels have come and promised false light Yet the tree still stands with unconquerable might It's whipped not a branch in its struggle for life Yet only isolation shall end its strife Content being along 'til its roots curl and die For the light it once sought was naught but a lie

"The Blade" Soft moonlight shines down upon glowing runes An enchanted sword rests on the white sand Waves roll by in meditative whispers Tempered steel glows like a fiery brand The left is etched with a twisting snake While an ancient dragon adorns the right Edged on both sides and perfectly balanced The blade was forged by the Lady of Night Love and compassion went into its making A silk-wrapped pommel, a platinum hilt A weapon fit for the mightiest hero Whose valor and courage shall never wilt Words spoken softly, a blessing bestowed Magical enchantment deep and profound With strength to overcome any nemesis May this magical blade be forever bound...
