Haiku
Night swimming, moonlight
Luminous beams on her love
Clothes left in the dark
Words are babble talk
His world is lonely and sad
Within his own mind
Music is his gift
Life reveals lyrics as song
Giving harmony
Garden
Enter my garden,
Behold the wonders to be seen.
No admission fee or hours of operation,
Just you and me.
Enter my garden,
No need to hurry to make it right.
No clock to punch,
We have the day and even the night.
Enter my garden,
Winter, spring, summer, fall.
In good weather and bad,
You will find yourself in awe.
This garden was planted just for you,
No others may enter; you are VIP.
When the troubles of the day make you blue,
Come walk in my garden, you will feel free.
If There Is Only One Rhyme I Could Say
If there is only one rhyme I could say
before you are gone from my life.
A line from a song; love will find a way:
I never meant to bring our world strife.
Sometimes sorry doesn’t heal the pain,
And trust is not given, but earned.
We hurt each other on purpose; but where is the gain
when we should feel love’s burn.
Many years we have shared together,
Times spent in laughter and in tears.
I will love thee now and forever,
And tell my dreams and fears.
Our love is pure and strong,
In my heart is where you belong.
Untitled
In my hidden home you reside
Your smell
Your touch
That is where I will hide
I don’t ask anything from you
Your humor
Your friendship
The only requirements that are do
If I was honest with myself
Your love
Your devotion
Would be my only wanted wealth
Your life contains many broken dreams
Your desire
Your passion
Will cause their light to beam
Day by day it amazes me
Your voice
Your words
I never want nor need flee
You have that power over life
Your strength
Your courage
To overcome this weary world’s strife
My heart hurts for your embrace
My hope
My plea
My heart safe and not misplaced
When we met
We were just kids the day we met,
Romance and amour was not on our minds
You throwing jumping jacks is the memory I have kept.
We were just teens the day we met,
In the lunchroom over pizza and chocolate milk
Movies, dinners and proms with the man I dreamt.
We were just young adults when we met,
At the marriage alter, taking our vows
In front of our family and God, our hearts leapt.
We were just new parents when we met,
The day we brought our new addition home
Diapers, bottles, and midnight feedings, who could have slept?
We will be old and gray when we meet,
The eyes of our grandchildren waiting for hugs and kisses
And we will say thank goodness they are someone else’s, we are beat!
We will be renewed when we meet,
At the heavenly gates of our Lord Almighty
Hand in hand walking on those streets of gold will be such a treat.
White Fang
White, pointed
People can see
Looks of curiosity
What could they be?
I call them
Vampire teeth
Sticking out
Ready to bite!
Wildflowers
His lover lies with blues, yellows, and oranges
In a field of flowers
Moving with the breeze, wild and free
Blanket of color and sweet smell
He touches her face
Gentleness like the wind
The smell of daisies fills their senses
Morning glories, Queen Ann’s Lace,
Forget-me-nots
Giving comfort and solace
Dreams told among the foxglove
And primrose
Love expressed; nestled under
Sweet clover and lilies
