Tonight, I ask that you, my friends, pray for a family in my neighborhood. My daughters best friend in fact. Her mother was a victim of domestic violence tonight and her and her daughter are resting easy at a friends house undisclosed. My daughter, who is finally sleeping, had the unfortunate opportunity tonight to find out what that term means and how bad it really can be.
Her friends mother, which we will call Chelle, was attacked by her boyfriend. She was strangled and cut and did receive medical attention. My daughters friend, which we call, Taylor, was supposed to spend the night at our house. During the argument that spawned into the physical moment, she was at our house and didn't actually see this... THANK THE GODS IN ALL THE HEAVENS!!! However, from down the street, Taylor and my daughter could hear Chelle calling... screaming her name.
It has been a rough night, and we are unsure of where things will go in the morning, but please, all that I ask is that you say a prayer for this family. They need it more than most of us could really ever know.
My daughter, is really upset and is really worried about Taylor, Chelle and the many pets they have at the house which is vacant at this time of human presence. We, meaning member of my family, will contact them in the morning to see about helping to take care of the pets, and to offer all we can. My daughter has never had to deal with this and this is one life lesson I had hoped she never had to know about in this manner. I am supporting my daughter in her worries and all she wants to do to help, within the limitations that I will allow to make sure she, my daughter, is protected.
