Flora Vista man still critical
The condition of the Flora Vista man who was injured Friday in an industrial accident did not improve Saturday.
San Juan Regional Medical Center verified that the 47-year-old man, Joel Cordell, remained in critical condition.
Cordell was hospitalized Friday after he was pinned to a forklift's engine after accidentally triggering the forklift boom, San Juan County Sheriff's Office deputies said.
Cordell, who worked for Bearcat Drilling, was operating the forklift when his knee inadvertently hit against the lever that controls the boom. Deputies said the boom lowered, crushing him against the engine.
Cordell was taken by ambulance to San Juan Regional Medical Center where his condition has stayed constant.
